Teaching is one of the best ways to make an impact. I want to change and alter the way students think about school. I want school to not just be about learning boring information and taking tests, but to be about having fun and using all your knowledge for the better. I want to teach kids that it is actually cool to be smart. That you can have a blast while retaining so much information. I want my classroom to be a safe place for everyone because you never know what a kid might be going through. Like I said before, I love to create things. Teaching students information and watching them grow and build is like creating a miniature you. I didn't always have fun in school so, if I can make that difference for students who might be struggling, it would be empowering. Teaching is hard but I am willing to do whatever it takes. I want to help shape young minds. I want to make a difference. I want to make school fun. I know that it will not always be that way and that there will be hard times. I know that not all of my students will learn and understand information the same. The why you must be diverse. Your lesson planning must be flexible. And why you must get to know each and every one of your students therefore, you know what is best for each of them. I believe that is what I will love most about Getting to know my students and getting to think outside of the box to help my students learn and remember. That will take creativity but that is what will make teaching fun. I do not ever want my students to know what is going to happen next. I want to make every day as interesting and different as the next. My dream has always been to teach. I cannot wait until the day that I get to make my dreams come true.

I have a condition called VCD. That is short for vocal cord dysfunction. It means that when I panic, become anxious, or breath heavy while exercising, my vocal cords shut instead of opening like they are supposed to. This condition has no cure but can be soothed by relaxation and exercise. It is commonly mistaken for asthma but VCD strands from anxiety, stress, PTSD, depression, and panic attacks. Anxiety is more likely to trigger an episode in kids and teenagers than in adults. When my VCD was at its worst I would suffer from multiple anxiety and panic attacks a day. In the back of my mind, I was always thinking "when it is going to happen next". This is something I would never wish upon my worst enemy. Every time I would panic, it felt like I was dying, and sometimes I felt like it would have been better if I would have. Not many people talk about conditions like these or even the diseases and conditions that affect humans' minds. I have always struggled with anxiety and overthinking. To some, this is a huge deal. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, but today anxiety is seen as a joke or as a weakness. It is neither. Mental illness is one of the most serious diseases/conditions in the world. I hope that one day I will have a voice to spread positivity and be a shoulder for those in need. I want to help those who need it. I want the world to take mental illness seriously and I hope that one day I will have a platform to talk about these types of issues, to help those who may not have a voice loud enough.

Why are you interested in teaching? Some people may ask this question. My answer is always that teaching has been my dream since I was little. When I was young, I set up my room to resemble a classroom. I would take roll call and lunch count, teach lessons and discipline my dolls and stuffed animals. I even had a grade book with all the names I had come up with. I have always had a passion for helping and creating things. I have always wanted to make a difference in the crazy and messed up world. Teaching is one of the best ways to make an impact. I want to change and alter the way students think about school. I want school to not just be about learning boring information and taking tests, but to be about having fun and using all your knowledge for the better.
