Bio

My journey into medicine has been nurtured through diverse experiences, demonstrating my deep-seated passion and resilience. From observing my father's optometry practice to working as an ophthalmic assistant, I've gained valuable insights into patient care and the importance of cultural competence. My participation in programs like Summer Health Professions Program (SHPEP), Harvard's Biomedical Science Careers Program and University of Rochester Summer Undergraduate Research Program (URSMD) show my commitment to personal growth and addressing healthcare disparities. My academic excellence, coupled with extensive volunteer work and leadership roles, reflects my dedication to making a positive impact in healthcare. My life goals revolve around becoming a compassionate and culturally aware healthcare provider, working to bridge gaps in care, and contributing to positive changes in the medical field. My experiences have not only fueled my passion for medicine but also instilled in me a desire to ask critical questions about myself and the healthcare system, making me an ideal candidate for a scholarship to support my continued growth and future contributions to the field.
