Pandemic's Box Scholarship
When watching my favorite Chinese variety show Happy Camp, there were various clips of inspirational nurses wearing layers of clothing that covered their whole body in the hot temperature. The nurses were laughing about the line formed on their foreheads when they wore goggles. The nurses were sweating heavily that formed puddles when they took off their protective wears. They had volunteered to be in the hospitals treating patients when they could be at home with their family quarantining. I felt the nurses were angels who fought bravely against the pandemic. I want to gain smiles like theirs to experience happiness like theirs in contributing during harsh times. Those nurses further inspired me to try to achieve enough education to be like them. To contribute to society to make it a better place and to show society that there are fearless and cautious people who care about the whole well-being of the world.
3Wishes Women’s Empowerment Scholarship
Television show. It links people together by becoming a shared topic of discussion. It inspires people by introducing role models who encourage one to better themselves. It can educate people about what is occurring in the world around them. Making a television show addressing women can most effectively empower women.
The television show could feature clips of randomly selecting people from the streets to talk about their point of view about things such as women’s role in society, and what they think about the gap between men and women in work. The show can include videos of people thanking special women in their lives that heavily impact them to be who they are. The show can feature celebrities answering questions regarding if they ever face indifferences just because they are women and how they deal with it. The show can interview women from different careers to talk about why they choose their career, what their career is like, and how important their career role is to society. The show can feature psychologists to talk about why women are acting the way they are in society and what leads to those actions and indifferences faced by women. The television show can include games such as jeopardy regarding important women in history. The television can also ask for donations of clothes, money, supplies, and food to support women in different situations. The donations can be given to women who are teaching kids in the rural. The show can include lessons on how women can deal with stress, how women can educate their kids, and how they can treat themselves during pregnancy. The show can include resources useful to women in society, such as coupons, recommendations for child daycares, and finding jobs.
To have a successful television show, many actions need to be done. Making a television show would require large sums of money. The money can be gotten by asking for donations on various social media platforms. There would also need to be advertisements for the show. Such as posters in the busy streets of Manhattan, and clips of the show on youtube, Instagram, and Facebook. To empower previous generations and future generations of women, the targeted audience would be of all age groups. There could be many different types of content targeting each age group at different times during the day. For example, there could be stories of inspiring women’s life in cartoons for the future generation of women from 3 to 4 pm.
The television show can serve as a spark for women to be advocates for themselves.
Nikhil Desai "Favorite Film" Scholarship
Chick fight, a comedy action film, released on November 13, 2020, and is rated R.
The film is admirable in addressing LGBT by supporting lesbians and gays with the people surrounding the protagonist being homosexual. Anna’s dad’s lover is Chuck since Anna’s mom died nine months ago. Anna’s best friend Charleen kisses Anna’s employee toward the film’s end.
The film teaches people a haven is emotionally significant for people, but certain haven comes with negative influences. The people in the fight club utilize the club to cope with their life problems. Everyone needs a way to cope with issues in their life to balance out stress. The way for the people in the film is a harsh way that does have negative consequences. The film does present the idea fighting is a bad way to release stress with a person being severely injured with an ear detached.
The film teaches people that hard work is required for success. Anna went through intense training to prepare herself for the fight with Olivia.
The greatest component of the film is that it teaches sometimes just taking a step is needed for success. Anna was frightened to fight Olivia in the ring after she sees how savage Olivia is in knocking three girls out in the ring. Anna’s coach Jack advises Anna to “leave behind fear and doubt and take that final step to bravery." The main lead had wanted to quit, but she took the step and succeeded in using her headbutt to knock Olivia and won. Quitting leads to a definite defeat in most cases and not quitting could bring a surprise victory.
Brynn Elliott "Tell Me I’m Pretty" Scholarship
The woman who I admire is one who had a tough to moderate life. She left trying to obtain higher education because of having to provide for her family. She labored as a teen in a cloth sewing place. She was the best of the employees and would get bonuses for making the least long to no torn. She had to work and cook for her household at the same time. She left her country to arrive at a setting where she only knows hello, yes, no, and thank you. Even though she faced hardships, she endured and never complained to her family.
She helped to shape me into who I am today. She influenced me to believe that hard work leads to rewards. She taught me what is right or wrong. She taught me the alphabet. She educated me on the importance of exercise; exercise leads to better physical conditions to fight viruses and to be fit in different work environments. She informed me that trying to obtain higher education is useful because it directs to a satisfactory lifestyle.
I had experienced a few days in her shoes when I tried to do her job at her workplace. I thought her job was a simple task of just placing orders and giving the customers their food. I was wrong. Her job requires her to be on her feet nearly the entire day, especially when the Japanese restaurant is busy. Her work requires her to recognize each dish, so the customers can get the correct orders. Her job requires strength and balance in clutching many cups in her hand without dropping. Her job is no effortless assignment.
For the future, in my potential employment, I will endure no matter what hardships come my way. Even though I know that my future potential career in the medical field could be mentally and physically deteriorating, I will always try to stay optimistic even while encountering complications. I would also try not to complain. I would also try to be adaptable to changes.
I am grateful to the woman I admire. The woman I admire is one of the best daughter and one of the best mother. She is the one who I hug whenever she comes home, my mother.
"Your Success" Youssef Scholarship
I wish to continue to pursue higher education to improve myself so I can provide more back to society. Continuing to seek education also is a challenge that I want to take on so I can find out more about my abilities. Through higher education, I can learn more about the past, present, and what I can contribute to the future.
I want to pursue education in the medical field, so I can become either a nurse, a nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or a nurse-midwife. I want to be a trained person in the medical field so patients can receive qualified care from me.
I participated in Loving Bones from Freshman to Junior year. The club is affiliated with March of Dimes. I felt the urge to contribute when I saw a normal size diaper compared to a smaller-than-my-palm diaper. In the club, I helped to sell march of Dimes merchandise during parent-teacher conferences for donations. I helped to make posters to endorse the Club to others.
In school, I participate in the Med Vision Club that happens on Wednesdays. The club is helpful to attain insights into the medical profession. There have been guest lecturers discussing in-depth about their careers with their eyes sparkling. One of the guest speakers was a nurse who helped me further uncover my interest in nursing. I learned from her that nurses don’t have to notify families regarding patient deaths. I learned the role nurses play include being advocates for patients, teaching families how to take care of their loved ones and themselves, and giving assistance to help prevent future patient hospitalizations. I feel this is a role I want to play in the future.
I am passionate about helping others. I discovered that I have this passion when I had volunteered at the Five Borough Bike Tour Race two times after learning about the volunteering event from Helping Hands Club. I remember handing out medals to bikers who arrived at the finish point. There was sunshine the first year and there was pouring rain during the following year I volunteered. Regardless of the weather, there were awards supplied on shelves, medal giving, smiles, and congratulations. I feel proud of the bikers who achieved biking through the long-distance race and went through rainy weather. I remember that there was an individual who jokingly questioned “Did I get first place?” I answered back smilingly “Yes, You did. Congrats!” while we both know that many people were in line before him. Through this event, I learned that I adore volunteering in ways that I can contribute because of the bright smiles and thanks.
I am passionate about giving help with the use of medical knowledge. I enjoyed watching Youtube channels of Doctor Mike, Doctor Anthony Youn, and Mama Doctor Jones. The channels enhance my curiosity about the health field. How does a doctor correctly diagnose a patient with one illness than with a similar illness? How does a doctor correctly diagnose a patient? What would happen if a physician diagnoses a patient wrongly? How does a doctor determine the right treatment for the patient? Through the health reaction videos, I realize I want to help the patients to get relief from their health issues that cause discomfort, tears, or abnormal looks from society.
A Sani Life Scholarship
With the issue of the virus, many normally done activities are hindered. Especially when going outside is restricted. However, this does not stop me from discovering about myself, my family, and my community.
On Monday, around one o’clock, my mom instructs me and my sister to exercise for at least thirty minutes. My parents, my sister, and me all stretch, run in place and jump on the first floor while music blasts from the iPad. My parents value exercising as they believe it is an efficient way to prevent diseases. During the beginning of the coronavirus, I despised exercising. I would rather sit all day. A few months passed, I gradually noticed a change in me. I want to exercise for half an hour because I am obligated to take care of my body. Exercising makes me feel more energetic and awake with a fast heartbeat. This made me feel that for the future everyday I would exercise for at least thirty minutes.
On Tuesday, around three o’clock, the melody of "The Mister Softee Jingle" is heard. My sister and I know the truck is here. We rush to the window and peer out since we can not go to buy ice cream. We see neighbors running to the truck, standing closely with their family, and greeting others from a distance as they wait for their turn to order. Seeing what occurred, my mom realizes the sibling’s desire for the creamy and mouth-watering dessert, so she allows them to eat homemade heavy cream ice cream. Nothing can stand in the way of a community's love for ice cream. I plan to make ice cream in the future as a part of my hobby.
On Wednesday, my parents went to Costco as I stayed home with my sister. My parents bring their protection and armor of masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer and prepare an additional set of clothes in the garage. When they return, the siblings open the garage, run out of the garage, and shut the garage door as rapidly as they can. Their parents hurried to switch clothing and quickly went to the third floor to shower bacteria off. Afterward, the groceries in the garage are washed using water from the hose. Each bottle of yogurt is rinsed. Some food is carried to the second-floor kitchen while others are abandoned for a few days in the garage. My parents are very cautious and fearful of COVID which deeply impacted their actions. This influenced me in the future to always try my best to clean the ingredients and wash my hand before I eat because bacteria and viruses can’t really be seen with the human eye.
On Thursday, at eight o’clock, the siblings watch a movie called the chick fight. The siblings loved the 2020 movie that consisted of fighting as a form of self-therapy, love, and comedy. The movie reminds me of why I love physical combat for protection. The movie also reminds me of the extremes of combating with a woman getting her ear detached. The movie is inspirational with the idea that it is important to take a small step for surprises to victory. I plan in the future to one day learn a form of martial arts so I could be accomplishing something from my bucket list.
On Friday, I watch many youtube channel videos from Doctor Mike, Mama Doctor Jones, and Doctor Anthony Youn. I learned black salve is a deadly ointment that kills tissues. Knowing this about Black Salve, I remind myself to never use that ointment and that in the future I should tell people around me who want to use it to never use it. The channels increase my curiosity about the health field. How does a doctor correctly diagnose a patient? What would happen if a physician diagnoses a patient wrongly? How does a doctor determine the right treatment for the patient? The question came to my mind when watching a video from Doctor Anthony Youn. He was reacting to an episode of Doctor pimple popper and he said that he would have made the patient with a lipoma on her shoulder to go to an operating room instead of using local anesthesia. The channels inspire me to pursue a future career that help patients get rid of their health issues that cause pain, tears, or abnormal looks from society.
3LAU "Everything" Scholarship
My everything includes my experiences, people and things I encounter, goals, and dreams for my future. Throughout life, I hope I can be happy in every moment of my everything from the past to the present to the future. My everything influenced me to be who I am today and who I will be in the future.
My everything includes the moments where I feel joy. I love going to the beach to ride my bicycle along with my sister while my parents go fishing. I love going to Costco for groceries with my family. I am the type of girl who loves food shopping more than cloth shopping.
My hobby of watching youtube channels of Doctor Mike, Mama Doctor Jones, and Doctor Anthony Youn sparked my interest in the medical field. I am amazed by the medical knowledge they have. Throughout their reactions to episodes of American medical shows, I feel the medical field is an incredible field to aid people to get rid of their pains, tears, and abnormal looks from society.
The Chinese culture and the American culture influenced my everyday life. I love watching movies, dramas, and tiktok from both cultures. I love celebrating holidays from both cultures. I love eating food from both cultures.
With the modern-day being heavily influenced by technology, technology became a part of my everything. I contact my friends to study for homework through my iPhone. I watch tiktok, movies, dramas with my sister on the computer, iPhone, iPad, and the tv on the second floor. Because of the pandemic, I meet with my teachers and classmates through zoom on the computer.
Throughout every second, I am experiencing my everything. My sister is part of my everything who is sitting beside me on the first floor while I am on the computer typing.

While thinking about a general idea of what I want to do in the future, I want to study either biology or pre nurse majors in college. When asked about what field I see myself in, I see myself in the medical and health field.
I had thought about what I want to be for many consecutive days. At night, I would ponder on what career I should choose. The idea of either becoming a dental hygienist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or doctor engulfs my mind. But for three of those, I know I would need a bachelor's degree that could be in biology or nurse.
At school, I took an advanced placement biology class, which intrigues my interest in biology. Things that can not be seen by the naked eye plays a huge role in impacting body systems to how one lives. Biology can be seen everywhere. Such as in the kitchen, on simple things, such as frying an egg or making jello as the proteins of jello and egg denatured.
Watching YouTube videos also made me want to be in the medical field. Doctor Mama Jones reviews videos of ” I did not know I was pregnant”. Those videos made me ponder “Wow, Life is full of surprises even in pregnancies!” The videos made by Doctor Jones taught me that there are many breeches for positions of babies that made me wide-eyed.
Through many factors, I know I want to be somewhere in the medical field, so I would want to learn something that helps me achieve that goal.
