WinnerBio
I am William Chen, a senior attending Mark Keppel High School in California. As a 17-year-old, I understand that attending college will become a new chapter that will help me build my character and achieve my aspirations. I aspire to become an entrepreneur because I want to serve my community with a service or a product. Looking back from my elementary years to my high school years, I realized that 3 main factors have helped shape who I am today: learning and playing competitive chess, volunteering for service clubs within my school, and spending time with my family.

WinnerChess is truly a work of art; the players are the artists and the board is the canvas. My love for the game started when my friend beat me in chess. This was when I wanted to learn how to play chess competitively— from there I began studying chess. Although I was not the best at first, I was dedicated. I put in hours into learning important concepts. Through competing in tournaments and studying for six years, I have created a lifelong passion for the complex yet simple game of chess and achieved a peak rating of 1689.
