I found my calling as a young boy in my grandpa's shop, a sanctuary where mechanical wonders came to life and where I would discover my passion for trucks. As I grew older, my skills flourished. I became adept at handling tools, understanding complex engine systems, and troubleshooting issues with remarkable precision. My grandpa gradually entrusted me with more responsibilities, allowing me to take on projects independently. The shop became a canvas where I could apply my creativity and problem-solving abilities. I look forward to the future of possibly opening a shop some day and growing a business.

My journey began in my grandpa's truck shop, a sanctuary where mechanical wonders came to life and where I would discover my passion for trucks. My earliest memories were filled with the scent of motor oil and the clinking of tools. My grandpa, Bill, was a seasoned mechanic who had spent decades perfecting his craft.
To me, the shop was a treasure trove of knowledge and adventure. From an early age, I showed an insatiable curiosity about the workings of trucks. My grandpa, ever the patient teacher, took me under his wing. Together, we would spend countless hours diagnosing problems, fixing engines, and restoring vehicles to their former glory. His lessons extended beyond mere mechanics; he instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity.
As I grew older, my skills flourished. I became adept at handling tools, understanding complex engine systems, and troubleshooting issues with remarkable precision. I noticed that my grandpa gradually entrusted me with more responsibilities, allowing me to take on projects independently. The shop became a canvas where I could apply my creativity and problem-solving abilities. I rebuilt an entire engine at the age of 17 with a little help from my grandpa and father.
The path was not without its hurdles. I faced numerous challenges, from stubborn bolts to intricate electrical issues. Yet, each obstacle was a learning opportunity. With my grandpa's guidance and my resilience, it saw us through every setback. The bond between us grew stronger with each shared triumph and lesson learned. A hard lesson that I learned was to ask questions when you need help. There were several processes I had to start completely over because I did not ask for help. This was an unbelievably valuable lesson learned during the rebuild.
I have always loved anything electrical and mechanical. I remember taking things apart as a small child and never being able to put them back together. My mother was always so patient with me and encouraged me to figure it out. She would sit me down in the floor for hours and encourage me to figure out what part or screw went where. I hope to be able to take the patience and kindness that has been shown to me by my family and make an impact in my community one day by opening an automotive business. I want to mentor others someday as my grandpa and father mentored me in the small shop they have.
My parents have their own financial struggles, and they are private about them, but I know they are there. So, as soon as I could drive, I started working to help pay for gas for my vehicle. I want to be able to not take out loans that my mother is saying she will pay for me. I want to do this path on my own so that she does not have to worry about me. I am committed to carrying forward the legacy of work ethic and mentorship instilled in me by my family, and I am determined to make a meaningful impact in my community.
