Bio

I grew up in a poor household with a large family and did not know financial security until recently. It is only through my father's hard work and God's grace to our family that we can be where we are today. Through my dad, I learned a lot of valuable lessons about hard work, determination, and perseverance that have always driven me to excellence and achievement. His diligence in providing for his family has allowed me to have the ability to go to college and I plan to take full advantage of this opportunity My dream has always been to improve the world through advancements in technology in environmentally sustainable ways. By becoming an engineer, I can work towards a better future for the next generations and one that is full of life and knowledge. Even though this is difficult, I am prepared to take on the challenge and do the hard work required for my future career in aerospace engineering. I have always "reached for the stars" in the work that I do and the plans that I set. I consider myself a very busy person as I participate in many activities outside of my schoolwork. However, this does not stop me from working hard to achieve my goals and support myself while having fun and doing the things that I love most. I also try to give back to the community that supports me and I often volunteer at events with a local church or organization that allow me to connect with new people and establish strong relationships.

People don't remember someone for what they did for themselves; they recognize the impact on the people around them. Legacy is the impact that we have on the lives of others that we encounter. While there are world records for individuals accomplishing particular tasks, those records eventually break, and the legacy becomes someone else's. However, activists such as Martin Luther King Jr. and scientists like Albert Einstein are recognized for their contributions to society on a global scale and remembered for centuries. Additionally, thousands of people leave lasting legacies in the lives of people close to them who do not significantly impact the bigger world. If I want to leave a legacy in the world, I need to find a way to change one person's life, and the rest will soon follow. I was raised in a Christian household and taught to help others who do not have as much as I do. When we were financially unstable in my youth, we gave our time and efforts to people struggling alongside us instead. Now I see that helping others is not only a religious obligation but also a moral obligation for everyone in the world. As a result of my upbringing, I have always involved myself in the community and volunteered for service projects. The local church hosted most of these volunteering opportunities, and I was able to make an impact on the lives of people who needed assistance. Volunteering helped me realize the importance of our actions in our lives and to the people around us. They affect so much more than just the immediate situation and leave lasting impacts on the environment and community, whether they are positive or negative. However, we should always strive to leave a positive impact and legacy on the world around us. I plan to continue setting a legacy of helping others throughout college and beyond with the knowledge I obtain about my career and life. As a college student with a STEM major, I have a unique ability to change the world in many positive ways and leave a lasting legacy for a large number of people. I can accomplish this by working for an environmentally sustainable company and developing technologies to create a better world. Many companies are beginning to care for the environment and want to leave a positive impact on the earth for future generations. This impact is their legacy to smaller groups of people and contributes to the larger scale of history, starting with one person. Continuing this cycle of positive impact on the world should be the goal of every individual, not just those in STEM.
