I'm extremely passionate about my extracurricular activity which happens to be football. Without football I don't know what would've happened to me growing up. Football kept me from getting in trouble while also teaching me about focus which I then applied to school. Shaping me into a successful young black person that understands what it takes to be great at anything you want to do in life. But that is just one of the many side effects football can have on someone. Aside from being a physical sport football is more of a family than anything else. Every football team has had to come together and play as one to win games, and if they didn't come together it usually didn't end up well. Throughout my time playing football I have noticed that one major factor that helps bring a team together is the energy of the fans in the stadium and outside of it. To hear loved ones or soemone you don't even know cheering for you, telling you " you can do it" just does something to a football player that can't be put in words. This leads me to the impact football has on the community. It all starts with the fans and players having positive energy expressed everywhere they are whether it be at practices, games, work, restaurants, charity events, etc. Everyone involved with football goes by this to set the standard for the community. In the start it might not seem like anything is happening but it will start to have a trickle-down effect on people who have been encountered. This means people will start to have better moods and if nothing else will understand the do's and don'ts. Along with new bonds and relationships that are created within the community. So without football, my community in particular wouldn't be as strong or intuned with each other as we are now, due to the lack of community activities going on. I'm not saying the community itself does nothing that helps out but football, it is a great way to promote or boost awareness of a rising concern happing in the community. With all of the attention, the sport gets just because it is a sport is way more than the community promoters can do. This is why football plays a big role in lots of people lif's With a strong team there also is a strong community running right behind to victory.
