Bio

I feel as though COVID-19 and the quarantine period allowed me to build skills and develop habits that will positively impact my life. During the pandemic, I began to focus on strengthening my mind and my body through daily exercise and meditation. I also made it a point to develop friendships with people that I seldom conversed with during school. I can now consider some of those individuals as my best friends. Additionally, during this quarantine, I affirmed a stronger faith in God. Although many people struggled through this period, I was one of the few people who took this time to reflect and redevelop my lifestyle into a stronger, healthier, and a more holy one.

    Zendaya Superfan Scholarship
Zendaya's journey from Disney darling to acclaimed actress is a remarkable testament to her talent and dedication. She has surpassed the limitations of child stardom, emerging as a versatile performer who imbues her characters with depth and emotional resonance. I will delve into the reasons why her acting prowess deserves not just appreciation, but genuine admiration. Firstly, Zendaya's versatility is unparalleled. She can effortlessly navigate diverse roles, shedding the sunny "Shake It Up" persona to become the troubled Rue in "Euphoria" with astonishing ease. This adaptability is a true reflection of her commitment to challenge herself and consistently expand her artistic range. Whether it's a reserved teenager or a confident heroine, Zendaya inhabits each character with meticulous detail, making them breathe on screen. Furthermore, her performances are imbued with captivating emotional depth. Her nuanced expressions and subtle intonations convey intricate emotions with breathtaking authenticity. Whether portraying vulnerability or strength, she creates a profound connection with the audience, drawing them into the character's journey. This talent is not just recognized by fans, but also by industry professionals. Her Emmy for "Euphoria" stands as a beacon of her artistry, a well-deserved recognition of her ability to captivate and move viewers. However, to limit Zendaya's impact to acting alone would be a disservice. Her contributions to fashion, music, and activism are admirable in their own right. She is a true multi-hyphenate artist. While each facet shines individually, it's crucial to note how they intertwine. They are not simply separate achievements, but extensions of her acting prowess, allowing her to amplify her voice and advocate for positive change. Her fashion choices are a reflection of her personality, her music is an extension of her artistry, and her activism is a reflection of her values. In conclusion, Zendaya's acting prowess is not merely commendable; it's exceptional and undeniable. Her versatility, emotional depth, and unwavering commitment to her craft solidify her position as a leading force in her generation. She is a true inspiration for not just aspiring actors, but anyone who wants to pursue their dreams with passion and dedication. As we eagerly await her future projects, one thing is certain: she will continue to enthrall audiences with her captivating performances and leave an undeniable mark on the entertainment industry.
    Disney Channel Rewind Scholarship
Imagine a crossover episode between my two favorite Disney Channel shows, K.C. Undercover and The Famous Jett Jackson. Well, here it is with the Episode Title: Big Screen Spydown: K.C. Cooper and Jett Jackson on the Case! So picture this: K.C. Cooper, AKA the undercover queen, is on a mission at Big Star Studios. Hollywood's latest teen film hub is hit by a wave of mysterious script thefts, and K.C. is just the spy for the job. Disguised as "Kira Cooper," the high school sensation, she dives headfirst into the glitzy chaos of the studio. As K.C. struts her stuff, blending in with the wannabe actors and actresses, she's oblivious to the fact that the one and only Jett Jackson is also on the case. Jett, the tech-savvy teen detective, sniffs out the news about the script heists and decides to crash the party at Big Star Studios. Talk about a crossover event! In a classic case of 'right-under-each-other's-nose,' K.C. and Jett cross paths during a studio tour. It's like a teenage spy comedy of errors, with both of them trying to out-cool each other while dodging Ms. Sharp, the head of security, whose glare could melt steel. Cue the hilarity – K.C. does a double take when she sees Jett in the crowd, and Jett almost spills his soda when he spots 'Kira Cooper.' A madcap chase ensues, with each trying to keep their cover while avoiding the other. It's like a spy vs. detective version of hide-and-seek, only way more entertaining. Eventually, the truth comes out in a flurry of confusion and near-misses. K.C. and Jett discover each other's true identities and, after a moment of "Oh, you're not the bad guy?" they decide to team up. Together, they unravel a plot by a sneaky studio executive to sabotage Big Star Studios. The villain, armed with a fancy hacking program, aims to mess with upcoming releases. K.C. brings out the gadgets, and Jett brings out the tech knowledge – a match made in Disney heaven. In a nail-biting finale, K.C. disables the hacking program, while Jett confronts the baddie with a mountain of evidence. Justice prevails, the stolen scripts are rescued, and Big Star Studios is saved from cinematic catastrophe. As K.C. packs up her spy gear and Jett polishes his detective badge, they share a laugh about their wild adventure. Who knew espionage and detective work could be this funny? Before K.C. heads back to her undercover duties, they exchange contact info, hinting at more collaborations in the teen world of mystery and mayhem. And that's a wrap on the crossover episode of the year – K.C. and Jett, two worlds colliding in a hilarious whirlwind of Hollywood hijinks.
    “Stranger Things” Fanatic Scholarship
With my squad you can forget about the Demogorgon and Mind Flayer, I am assembling the ultimate Hawkins squad to deal with any fresh supernatural threat. You gave me a tricky catch, I've only got three spots to fill. So, here's my dream team breakdown: First, I start with Robin Buckley. You know she's got the combination of brains and sass a team needs to be high-functioning. I think of her as a total gem. I can't forget her codebreaking skills in season 3. She can decipher the unknown like the Enigma machine. Not to mention her quick wit and dry humor, something always needed. She is perfect for keeping morale up amid all the weirdness. I can see her now translating any challenging monster texts or cracking cryptic clues with a Gregory House level of sarcastic flair. Next up, the easy pick, Steve Harrington. He's the babysitter extraordinaire with the hair metal hero. Steve's growth is so utterly undeniable. Can you say loyalty and protectiveness? He has this pumping through his veins. Don't get on his bad side or he will display some serious combat skills. There is no doubt that he's a legit fighter. I can see him wielding a makeshift weapon. Think of a spiked baseball bat 2.0. He has an unforgettable iconic style while at the same time can throw in dad jokes to distract the enemy. And rounding out my trio, I have to go with Eleven. We all know her power. We just can't overly invest in it as she does have a vulnerability when it is gone, which can put us in a bit of a bind. But you know if she's fully recovered and has control over her abilities, she's the game-changer. She gives us Telekinesis and a psychic connection to the Upside Down. These are invaluable intel and a real game-changer when the cards are on the table. We just Just gotta use her wisely. Now you ask why this team? Oh, my friend, let me break it down: First, we have balance. Robin brings her big brains and can run our investigative charge, Steve is our brawn and has proven tactical know-how, and Eleven, well just call her the special sauce as the Calvery. It's a perfect blend. Now don't forget and you must recognize, that we also have growth potential. All three characters have shown expansive growth throughout the series. They have proven adaptability, demonstrated eagerness to learn, and a track record to rise to the occasion. I get goosebumps imagining the challenges they can overcome. Don't forget that they all are experts at teamwork. They have the established experience of fighting side-by-side before. They don't have to think second about trust, communication, and support each other under tremendous pressure. Finally, each character brings something unique to the table. Robin's codebreaking, Steve's leadership, and Eleven's special abilities offer an undeniable mix of approaches to tackling any new supernatural threat. It's my winning squad. My "dream team" squad is well-rounded and ready to face any supernatural threat, from wherever, be it from the Upside Down or beyond. We have effective communication, trust, and the always-needed dose of humor as the keys to our success.
    Jillian Ellis Pathway Scholarship
My resilience stems from my deep passion for music, a drive to make a difference, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting underrepresented communities from my parents. I recognize the power of music to bridge gaps, break down barriers, and foster understanding. As an African-American college student, I am acutely aware of the lack of representation in many areas, particularly in the music industry. This realization has inspired me to pursue a career in music with a specific goal: to make a difference by amplifying the voices of underrepresented artists and promoting diversity and inclusivity in the industry. Through my career in the business of music, I plan to create a platform that showcases artistry and uplifts and supports other talented musicians from marginalized communities. Music can bridge gaps, break down barriers, and foster understanding among people from different backgrounds. By using my platform and connections within the industry, I aim to provide opportunities for artists who have been historically overlooked and marginalized. One of the ways I plan on making a difference is by establishing my artist-friendly record label. This label will prioritize the artistic vision and creative freedom of the artists I work with while ensuring fair and equitable contracts protecting their rights and interests. I want to create a nurturing environment where artists can freely express themselves and explore their unique musical identities. Additionally, I will actively seek collaborations with diverse artists, producers, and songwriters to create music that reflects our multicultural world. By blending different genres, styles, and cultural influences, I hope to challenge conventional norms and create music that resonates with people from all walks of life. Beyond the creative aspect, I recognize the importance of understanding the business side of the music industry. I am committed to learning about marketing, promotion, and distribution strategies and staying informed about the evolving digital landscape. This knowledge will enable me to effectively market and promote the music myself and the artists under my label, ensuring their voices reach wider audiences. Furthermore, I plan to actively engage with my community by organizing workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs for aspiring musicians, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. By sharing my experiences, knowledge, and industry insights, I hope to inspire and empower the next generation of artists to pursue their dreams and overcome any obstacles they may face. In conclusion, my inspiration to pursue music comes from a deep passion for creativity and a parental-instilled drive to impact people positively. Through my business of music career, I aim to catalyze change by promoting diversity, inclusivity, and equitable representation. By establishing an artist-friendly record label, collaborating with diverse artists, and actively engaging with my community, I aspire to create a lasting difference that transcends the boundaries of music and resonates with people from all backgrounds. Music is not just a personal passion for me; it is a powerful tool for social change, and I am committed to utilizing it to its fullest potential.

    Netflix and Scholarships!
As a college sophomore, I am constantly bombarded with academic, extracurricular, and social commitments. When I need a break from my hectic schedule, I turn to my favorite Netflix series, Cobra Kai. This show is the perfect blend of my parent's nostalgia, contemporary storytelling, and action-packed martial arts. It is a show that speaks to my generation, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a binge-worthy series. "Cobra Kai" is a sequel to the 1980's "Karate Kid" films. It's a series that picks up three decades after the events of the original movie, bringing us back into the lives of the iconic rivals from the first "Karate Kid" film, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. What makes "Cobra Kai" a standout is its ability to strike a perfect balance between paying homage to the original movies and introducing a whole new generation of characters, intoxicating conflicts, and cliffhangers. The show is filled with nostalgia-inducing moments, with familiar faces making memorable returns to the screen. However, "Cobra Kai" is anything but a mere rehash of the original movies. The show doesn't rely solely on the nostalgia factor to draw viewers in. Instead, has a storyline that explores the lives of the original characters and how they developed over the years. The show features a diverse cast of characters who are all struggling to find their place in the world. The characters are relatable, flawed, and complex. They make mistakes, but they also learn and grow from them. For fans of the "Karate Kid" franchise, watching "Cobra Kai" feels like revisiting old friends and seeing how they've evolved. Daniel LaRusso, now a successful car dealer and family man, grapples with the challenges of his legacy and being an adult, and Johnny Lawrence, once the quintessential '80s high school big man on campus, navigates the complexities of redemption and mentorship. Their journeys are relatable to the trials and tribulations of growing up and finding a place in the world. Cobra Kai has action-packed martial arts sequences, featuring some of the best karate choreography on television. The fights are intense, exciting, and well-executed. But, "Cobra Kai" is not just a show about karate; it is also a show that tackles important social issues. The show features diverse characters and explores themes of race, identity, and privilege. It is refreshing to see these topics being tackled in a way that feels authentic and thought-provoking. Whether or not you are a fan of martial, you will appreciate the action scenes in Cobra Kai. The show does a great job of showcasing the dedication and discipline required to excel in karate. The training montages, epic showdowns, and rivalries between dojos are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. "Cobra Kai" is the best conversation starter among college students. Deep conversations are generated revolving around which sensei we resonate with more or dissecting the complex relationships between the next generation of characters. The show's ability to capture the nuances of human interactions and personal growth makes it a relatable and engaging watch. "Cobra Kai" is my standout must-watch series. It offers a unique blend of nostalgia, character development, action, and relatable themes. "Cobra Kai" is a compelling and contemporary series that is a binge-worthy experience that combines the best of the past and the present, and leaves you begging for more.
    Eras Tour Farewell Fan Scholarship
As a sophomore at Belmont University majoring in the business of music, I've had the privilege of gaining insights into the music industry from various angles. However, nothing quite prepared me for the immense learning experience from the business reports of the economic impact of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Taylor Swift has established herself as an iconic figure in the music world. She has showcased not only her extraordinary musical talent but also her formidable business acumen through the Eras Tour. This tour is a retrospective celebration of her entire career, spanning from her country roots to her pop superstardom, and it is a masterclass in executing a successful and lucrative concert tour. A standout aspect of the Eras Tour was Swift's commitment to advocating for artists and their rights. Taylor is an outspoken critic of the music industry's unfair practices and has effectively used her influence to secure better deals for herself and her fellow musicians. Taylor's 2019 announcement of her intention to re-record her first six albums after her former record label was sold to Scooter Braun, a music manager she had publicly accused of bullying her showcased her courage and determination. This action was a message to the music industry that artists can and will face adversity directly. Taylor's industry-leading utilization of technology serves as an exemplary model for the industry, illustrating how technology can elevate fan engagement and accessibility. Lastly, the Eras Tour was one of the highest-grossing tours in history. This showcased the art of conducting a profitable tour. Taylor's ability to consistently fill stadiums worldwide is a testament to her impressive cost management and innovative revenue generation strategies. As an example, Taylor capitalized on the sale of a diverse range of merchandise during her concerts and collaborated with brands like AMC Theaters, Target, and Spotify to offer exclusive merchandise and experiences for her fans. Additionally, she fostered partnerships with sponsors and skillfully negotiated lucrative deals with promoters to bolster tour revenue. The Eras Tour has provided me with invaluable lessons as a music business student. I've gained insights into and have gained motivation to promote artist ownership, advocate for artists who own their masters so they can maintain more control, and yield higher royalties from streaming and sales. Furthermore, Taylor displayed an MBA in the power of fan engagement. She expertly utilizes social media, her website, and her tours to forge deep connections with her dedicated fan base. Taylor's inspiring commitment to innovation also underscores the importance of staying ahead of the curve in the music industry. Her pioneering use of social media for fan interaction and her creation of immersive concert experiences through technology set new standards for the industry. Lastly, Taylor's monumental success with the Eras Tour underscores the profitability of touring when managed astutely. The tour's financial achievements underscore the significance of cost control and creative revenue generation strategies in the music business. While this is not an area of the music business that I wish to pursue, I have a profound new respect for it. In conclusion, the Eras Tour has been an enlightening journey that has expanded my understanding of the music industry's inner workings. Taylor Swift's multifaceted approach to music as both an artist and a businesswoman continues to inspire and shape the industry, and I eagerly anticipate her future innovations and contributions to the world of music as a reminder to me that I can be an advocator for artists and an innovator too.
Xavier M. Monroe Heart of Gold Memorial Scholarship
In second grade, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD, and a processing disorder. I almost always struggled to comprehend simple concepts on my own throughout my early academic career years. I did not work only because I always had guidance and support. When I first entered high school, I was under the impression that this bubble of protection would pop and that I had to fend for myself now. In the beginning, I was doing pretty well on my own. For my first semester in high school, I felt I did not need any support or guidance. As the year progressed, I kept hearing about Ancient/Medieval History and how it was the most challenging freshman-year class. On the first day of attending this class, our teacher Mr. Comer introduced himself and informed us of his expectations for the semester. When I first entered this class, I was ignorant of how much work I would need to complete to maintain a passing grade. Because I was an immature and relatively new high school student, I ignored my teachers’ suggestions for succeeding and tried my best. I attempted to complete the assignments through sheer procrastination and note-reading. Next to doing nothing, this was the worst possible approach to try and succeed in any class. It did not take long to realize that what I was doing was insufficient because my grade instantly reflected my lack of effort. As the semester progressed, I began trying other tactics like frequently studying Quizlet sets and reading my improved detailed notes. When I applied these tactics, I saw my grade improve. Although much improvement was needed, this was a nice morale boost. Mr. Comer noticed this improvement and told me that if I kept working as I was, I would get a good grade in his class. Despite my efforts, my grade was stagnant, and at this time, I was also playing baseball for the school. During my first year, I struggled with time management. When I started focusing on baseball, my grades began to decline. It was mid-way through the semester, and I had to put all my energy into passing this class. To achieve this goal, I first met with Mr. Comer and said, “I will pass your class with at least a C. Please tell me how I can do this.” He responded by saying he knew I was capable of achieving more. He then shared a few strategies to try out. Most notably, he told me to create note cards and study them every night because they make stronger neural connections to the brain. I also decided to withdraw from the baseball team so that I had extra time to study. Once I got into a flow with my strategies, I witnessed my grade's rapid ascension. By the end of the year, my status had surpassed my goal of being a C and was B-. One of the main things I learned from this experience is that when I have a goal in mind, I will stop at nothing to achieve it or go beyond it. I have carried this confidence throughout my high school career. I intend to sustain this perseverance in my future endeavors. Looking back on this experience, it is crazy to see how much I have grown in maturity, dedication, and overall work ethic. This encounter was the most challenging academic experience I have ever faced, and I conquered it.
    Book Lovers Scholarship
If I could have everyone in the world read one book, it would be The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It's a simple but powerful story about a shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from Spain to Egypt in search of his treasure. Along the way, he meets a variety of people who teach him about life, love, and the importance of following your dreams. The Alchemist is full of wisdom and insights relevant to everyone, regardless of their age, background, or culture. It teaches us that we all have a unique purpose in life and that we should never give up on our dreams. It also teaches us the importance of listening to our hearts and following our intuition. One of the things I love most about The Alchemist is that it's not just a story about following your dreams. It's also a story about self-discovery and personal growth. Santiago learns a lot about himself on his journey, and he becomes a better person as a result. The Alchemist is a book that my mother suggested I read several years ago and has stayed with me. It's a book that I go back to for inspiration and guidance. I highly recommend it to everyone. Some specific ways in which I think The Alchemist can be applied to the world include: Following your passion: Many people fear or can't decide what they want to do with their life. The Alchemist teaches the importance of following one's passion and illustrates the benefits of not being afraid to pursue one's dreams, even if others don't understand them. Being persistent: Life can be challenging and unfair. There will be times when one will want to give up. But The Alchemist teaches us the importance of being persistent. No matter what challenges a person faces, they should never give up on their dreams. Being kind and compassionate: The Alchemist teaches us the importance of being kind and compassionate to others, even those who are different from us. The world can be very divisive, due to differences, and people need to be reminded to be a friend with everyone and make the world a better place. Overall, I believe that The Alchemist is a book that everyone should read. It's a book that can teach everyone valuable lessons about the pursuit of your passion, the importance of following your dreams, and the importance of kindness.
    Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
I'm a second-year college student at Belmont University. I love playing video games, and my favorite game to play in co-op mode is undoubtedly Mario Kart. I've been playing Mario Kart since I was a kid, and it's always been a great way to bond with my friends and family. One particularly memorable moment that stands out as my top choice for memorable moments from multiplayer sessions, occurred on a Saturday evening, just before Thanksgiving Break. I was in my dorm with a group of friends. We decided to have a gaming night. Being well-trained in the game by my older sister, I suggested Mario Kart as the game of choice. The group of us selected our favorite controllers as we gathered around the TV. Everyone was relaxed and looking forward to the holiday break, and laughter was very contagious, as we joked on each other's Nintendo prowess. We each selected our favorite characters. A couple of us had to do roshambo for characters. The trash talk was fierce and sharp, as it always is in Mario Kart. Everyone was aggressively using Power-ups, banana peels, and shells. Despite our drive to win, the camaraderie, and the shared nostalgia of playing a game that had been a part of our lives since childhood created an electric and gregarious mood. The memorable moment came during the 2nd lap of one of the early races of the night. I was neck and neck with a dormmate. We both had chosen Mario as our character and he won him through the roshambo for characters. I ended up with Toad. The competition intensity in the room was high as we both desperately tried to outmaneuver each other. We pulled out all our tricks, making a battle of skill, luck, and strategy. As we approached the finish, the trash talk was hitting a high. I was winning most of the race but just when it seemed like my friend would pull ahead for a win, I swiped a Super Star power-up and with a burst of luck and timing, I zoomed past him, crossing the finish line seemingly like by the fewest of milliseconds before Mario. The room filled with laughter, trash talk, and cheers as I celebrated my victory. It was in that moment of shared joy and competitive spirit that Mario Kart solidified its place as my favorite co-op game. All that night and during other game nights everyone made comments rehashing the "power-up magic push." That night, we all sat around, recounting the races and reminiscing about past gaming sessions. The "power-up magic push" race was the clear trash-talking point. We all knew this was a special night. The game itself united us and allowed us to reflect on the shared memories and connections it created. This connection strengthened our friendships, both old and new. Mario Kart creates the opportunity to bring people together through a platform of friendly competition, and bonding creating experiences that transcend people's diverse backgrounds and experiences.
    “The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
I've been a fan of The Office since my older sister introduced me to the show. I enjoy the dry, awkward, and situational humor of the show. Darryl is the character that resonates with me because of his witty one-liners. His humor reflects the absurdities and quirks of real-life workplace situations. I resonate with Darryl Philbin due to my shared experiences of navigating different worlds. Darryl, like me, had to navigate a world that was different from his upbringing. He started in the warehouse and worked his way up to a desk job, which is somewhat analogous to my journey of studying the business of music at Belmont University, far removed from my family's background in real estate and medicine. Darryl also had friendships with people from various backgrounds, just as I have friends who are children of celebrities and regular people. This situation made me more adaptable in social situations, understanding the dynamics of different worlds. The Office's satirical take on the corporate world opened me to workplace dynamics from watching the show. It highlights the importance of having good relationships with your coworkers, being able to work as a team, and being adaptable. The show displays how office politics can be tricky, and how it's important to find a way to balance your personal and professional life. I come from a diverse background and appreciate how The Office shows that people from diverse backgrounds can come together in a workplace. This is something that I've experienced in my own life, and it's something that I think is important. The show emphasizes that despite our differences, we can find common ground, learn from each other, and build meaningful connections. I think this is a valuable perspective to carry into my future career in the music industry. The Office is a show that has made me laugh, taught me valuable lessons, and helped me to shape my sense of humor and a perspective on the working world.
    Carlos F. Garcia Muentes Scholarship
I come from a family that values hard work, education, and success. My grandfather was a doctor, my grandmother was a farmer's daughter who earned a master's degree, my father has an MBA and is in charge of operations for an affordable housing developer, and my mother earned a master's degree in education and works in human resources at the University of Southern California. I have always been inspired by the stories of my family members' hard work and determination. My grandfather grew up in a middle-class family and worked hard to get an education, graduated early from high school, and became a doctor. He started several businesses with nothing but a dream, and he has worked hard to build successful companies, such as a doctor's office, tax preparation business, landlord, and most recently a parking provider for Sofi Stadium and the Kia Forum. All 8 siblings of my grandmother's family graduated from college, and she worked hard to earn her master's degree. My father earned an MBA in real estate and is now a director for an affordable housing developer. My mother has worked hard to build a successful career in education, even though she had to balance raising a family at the same time she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. These stories have taught me that anything is possible if you are willing to work hard and never give up on your dreams. They have also taught me the importance of education and the power of hard work to overcome obstacles. My family's story has also shaped my career aspirations. I aspire to own my own record label. They have also inspired me to dream big and never give up on my goals. I am confident that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, thanks to the support of my family. In addition to the values of hard work, education, and success, my family has also taught me the importance of giving back to others. My grandfather volunteered at local hospitals, my grandmother donates her time to cultural organizations such as the Links Inc. and Charles Drew, and my father mentors young real estate entrepreneurs. I have learned from my family that it is important to use your success to help others. I plan to use my record label to give back to the music community by providing opportunities for talented musicians and by supporting charitable causes. I am excited to start my own record label and to use my music to make a difference in the world. I know that I can achieve my goals with the support of my family and the lessons they have taught me.

Understanding basic concepts was often an uphill battle, and I worked harder than my peers to keep up. Ron Johnston Student Athlete Scholarship
As a college student studying out of state in Tennessee, my experience with mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic has influenced my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations. Studying at home during high school has posed significant challenges to my mental health, such as social isolation, a lack of structure, and difficulty adjusting to remote learning. These challenges have impacted my beliefs about mental health, relationships, and career aspirations. I grew up in Los Angeles, California, and I've always loved music. My mother and I listened to and discussed music often, and I quickly fell in love with the creative process associated with music-making. In high school, I was also a good student. I got good grades, despite having to study remotely during the pandemic. My experience has taught me that mental health is an important issue that should not be stigmatized. I have seen firsthand the impact mental health can have on people's lives, and I believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. I am also more aware of the signs and symptoms of mental health problems and am more likely to reach out for help if I am struggling. This experience made me more empathetic, compassionate, and motivated to prioritize mental health in my life and career. My experience has also made me more compassionate and understanding of others. I have learned that everyone is fighting their battles, and I am more likely to be patient and understanding with struggling people. I am also more likely to speak up about mental health issues, and I am an advocate for those who are struggling. I ultimately decided to go to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. I wanted to study the music business, and Nashville is the heart of the music industry. When I moved to Nashville, I was excited to start a new chapter in my life. I was ready to meet new people, learn new things, and achieve my dreams. However, I quickly realized that college differed significantly from high school. The classes were focused on my career aspirations, the workload was challenging, and I was away from my family and friends for the first time. My experience with mental health has highlighted the importance of prioritizing and seeking help when needed. I have become more aware of the importance of maintaining good mental health practices like exercise, healthy eating, and self-care. Additionally, I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and both should be treated equally. My experience with mental health also influenced my relationships. The challenges of remote learning in high school made it more difficult to connect with peers and maintain meaningful relationships during my life when most young people could communicate with peers. However, this experience made me more empathetic and understanding of others' struggles with mental health. I have developed a greater sense of compassion and empathy towards others, which could lead to stronger relationships in the future. Overall, my experience with mental health has had a positive impact on my life. I am more compassionate, understanding, and resilient and more likely to help others who are struggling. I am also more likely to pursue a career that allows me to make a difference in the world. Overall, my experience with mental health has had a positive impact on my life. I am more compassionate, understanding, and resilient and more likely to help others who are struggling. I am also more likely to pursue a career that allows me to make a difference in the world. I am excited to see what the future holds for me. I know I have the strength and resilience to overcome any challenges I face. I am also grateful for the support of my friends, family, and therapist. I know that I am not alone in my journey, and I am proud to be an advocate for mental health awareness. M career aspirations and experience with mental health have influenced my decision to work in the music industry. As someone interested in working on the business side of the music industry, I am interested in promoting positive messages about mental health through music. Many musicians have used their platforms to advocate for mental health awareness, which could be a career path that aligns with my beliefs and interests. My experience with mental health also made me more aware of the mental health challenges that artists face in the music industry. The pressure to perform, the stress of touring, and the uncertainty of success can all affect an artist's mental health. As someone interested in working on the industry's business side, I have developed an interest in promoting mental health resources and support for artists. Overall, my experience with mental health has had a positive impact on my life. I am more compassionate, understanding, and resilient and more likely to help others who are struggling. I am also more likely to pursue a career that allows me to make a difference in the world.
Academic Liberty & Free Speech Scholarship
Free speech enables students to express their thoughts and ideas freely, exchange ideas with others, and challenge existing beliefs and assumptions. Preserving free speech is essential because it allows students to express their opinions without fear of censorship or reprisal. Free speech could inspire others to engage in meaningful dialogue about these crucial issues. Similarly, extracurricular activities, such as student clubs and organizations, allow students to explore their interests, debate, and discuss with others who share similar interests. Society needs to change its way of responding to the problems of the disadvantaged because the current system is not working. It is not enough to simply provide temporary relief or band-aid solutions. We need to address the root causes of disadvantage and create a more just and equitable society for everyone. It is essential for society to change the way it responds to the problems of the disadvantaged because the current methods of addressing these issues have proven to be ineffective and even harmful in many cases. The current approach is based on a flawed understanding of the root causes of poverty and inequality, which results in misguided policies and practices that perpetuate rather than solve these problems. There are many reasons why people are disadvantaged. Some are born into poverty, while others experience discrimination or abuse. Whatever the reason, disadvantage can have a profound impact on a person's life. It can lead to poor health, lack of education, and limited opportunities. It can also increase the risk of crime and violence. The current system is not doing enough to help people who are disadvantaged. Welfare programs are often inadequate, and there is a lack of affordable housing and healthcare. This leaves many people struggling to meet their basic needs. One of the biggest problems with the current approach is that it places the burden of responsibility solely on the disadvantaged individuals themselves, rather than acknowledging the systemic barriers and inequalities that they face. This blame-the-victim mentality ignores the fact that poverty and inequality are often the result of historical and structural factors that are beyond the control of individuals. This approach also ignores the fact that many of the solutions to these problems require collective action and systemic change. In addition, the current system often stigmatizes people who are disadvantaged. They are often seen as lazy or undeserving. This can make it difficult for them to get the help they need and to break the cycle of disadvantage. Another problem with the current approach is that it tends to focus on short-term solutions rather than long-term change. This often results in band-aid solutions that address the symptoms of poverty and inequality rather than the root causes. For example, providing food aid or temporary financial assistance can help individuals in the short term, but it does not address the underlying economic and social factors that perpetuate poverty. We need to change our way of responding to the problems of the disadvantaged. We need to create a more just and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. This means addressing the root causes of disadvantage, such as poverty, discrimination, and abuse. It also means providing people with the resources they need to improve their lives, such as education, healthcare, and affordable housing. We can all play a role in creating a more just and equitable society. We can volunteer our time to help those in need, donate to charities, and contact our elected officials to let them know that we care about this issue. By working together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are disadvantaged.

Mental health influences our beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations in several ways. Beliefs about myself, the world, and others are shaped by mental health. For example, anyone who experiences depression may have negative thoughts about themselves, such as believing they are worthless or unlovable. These negative beliefs can make it difficult to form healthy relationships and achieve career goals. Mental health can also impact the ability to form and maintain relationships with others. For example, one may struggle with social anxiety, avoid social situations, or have difficulty making new friends. Alternatively, people can struggle with borderline personality disorder; we may experience intense and unstable relationships with others. These patterns can influence our ability to build personally and professionally healthy and fulfilling relationships. Mental health also impacts a person's career aspirations and success. For example, if we struggle with depression, we may lack motivation or lose interest in pursuing our career goals. Alternatively, if a person struggles with perfectionism or anxiety, they may have unrealistic expectations of themselves and become overly stressed or burned out in one's job. These patterns, without a doubt, impact a person's ability to achieve career success and fulfillment. Ways to improve mental health include talking to someone you trust. Talking about your mental health with a friend, family member, therapist, or another trusted person can be helpful. They can offer support and guidance and help you develop coping mechanisms. Getting regular exercise is another way to achieve good mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, which have mood-boosting effects. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week. Eating a healthy diet can also help with good mental health. Eating nutritious foods can help improve your overall mood and energy levels. Avoiding processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive caffeine combats mental health. Getting enough sleep leads to improved mental health. When well-rested, you're better able to cope with stress and challenges. Most people need around 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Avoiding alcohol and drugs with help avoid mental health pitfalls. Alcohol and drugs can worsen mental health symptoms. If a person is struggling with their mental health, it's best to avoid these substances. The pandemic challenged many people's mental health. Some fell into mental challenges, while others excelled. I feel as though COVID-19 and the quarantine period allowed me to build skills and develop habits that positively impacted my life. During the pandemic, I began to focus on strengthening my mind and my body through daily exercise and meditation. I also made it a point to develop friendships with people I seldom conversed with during school. I can now consider some of those individuals as my best friends. Additionally, during this quarantine, I affirmed a stronger faith in God. Although many people struggled through this period, I was one of the few who took this time to reflect and redevelop my lifestyle into a stronger, healthier, more holy one.

Starting a music label in my community is an exciting and fulfilling business venture. Not only does it provide opportunities for aspiring artists to showcase their talent, but it also contributes to the general welfare of the community in various ways. The first step in starting a music label in the community is to research the market and the community's needs. It is essential to understand the type of music popular in the community and its demand. This research will help to identify potential artists and the audience for the music label. Once this research is completed, I will develop a business plan outlining the music label's objectives, strategies, and financial projections. My next step is registering the music label with the appropriate authorities and obtaining any necessary licenses and permits. This includes writing the business with the state, getting a tax identification number, and securing permits required for recording, distribution, and live performances. After registering the music label, I will find and sign talented artists. This can be done by hosting auditions, attending local concerts, and reviewing demo tapes. Once the artists are signed, I will work with them to develop their music and build their brand. This includes recording and producing their music, creating music videos, and promoting their music through various channels. One way that my music label will contribute to the general welfare of the community is by providing opportunities for aspiring artists to showcase their talent. In many cases, talented artists may not have the resources or connections to get their music heard by a wider audience. By providing a platform for these artists to showcase their talent, my music label will help to promote local talent and foster a sense of community pride. Another way that my music label will contribute to the community is by creating jobs and supporting local businesses. A music label requires a team of professionals, including recording engineers, producers, marketers, and distributors. By providing employment opportunities for local professionals, my music label will contribute to the community's economic growth. Additionally, I will partner with local businesses to promote their music and support community events. A music label can also contribute to the cultural enrichment of the community. Music is a universal language that can bring people together, and my music label will help to promote cultural diversity and understanding. By promoting music from different cultures and genres, my music label will help broaden the community's horizons and promote a more inclusive and diverse community. Finally, a music label can contribute to the education of the community. I will work with local schools and community centers that provide workshops and educational programs on music production, songwriting, and the music industry. These programs will help inspire and educate the next generation of musicians and music industry professionals, contributing to the community's overall cultural and economic growth. By starting a music label in the community, I will be rewarded with a fulfilling and rewarding business venture. By following the steps outlined in this essay, my music label will provide opportunities for aspiring artists, create jobs and support local businesses, enrich the culture of the community, and contribute to the community's education. My music label will positively impact the community's general welfare and create a lasting legacy for generations to come.

In second grade, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD, and a processing disorder. I almost always struggled to comprehend simple concepts on my own throughout my early academic career years. When I first entered high school, I was doing pretty well. I ignored my teachers’ suggestions on succeeding and tried it my way. During my freshman year, I struggled with time management. Once I got into a flow with my strategies, I began to witness the rapid ascension of my grade. By the end of the year, my grade had surpassed my goal of being a C and was a B-. I am to pursuing a Bachelor of Music Business degree at Belmont University. Not only is it one of the best programs offering a specialization in the business of music, but Belmont graduates also work at top industry record labels. My goal is to blaze a path following the success of outstanding alums and create an inclusive environment for artists to be free to develop at the highest levels.

The US Constitution is the foundation of the American government and society, and it outlines the fundamental principles and rights of the country. I am passionate about the Constitution because I believe in the principles of democracy, freedom, and equality that it embodies. These principles are what attract people to the United States of America. I appreciate the document's historical significance and its impact on the country and the world. The Constitution is the foundation of the United States of America's constitutional law, government, and political science. Many enjoy analyzing the document and interpreting its meaning and implications for society. They may also be interested in how the Constitution has been applied and interpreted throughout history and how it has been amended and adapted to changing times. I find how people use the Constitution exciting and revealing. I plan to continue to fight for civil rights throughout my career in the music business in many ways to do so. Music has always been a powerful tool for social and political change, and musicians have often used their platform to raise awareness about social issues and advocate for change. I will dedicate my career in the music business to fighting for civil rights by creating and performing music that addresses social issues and promotes messages of equality and justice. My platform will raise awareness about social problems and advocate for specific causes and organizations. Another way to fight for civil rights through my music career is by using my influence and those I work with to support and promote other artists working for social change. We will collaborate with others in the industry to organize benefit concerts and events and use our social media platforms to amplify the voices of marginalized communities. I will use my music business connections and resources to support political campaigns and advocacy organizations that promote civil rights and social justice. This involves donating money or resources, using my platform to promote specific causes and campaigns, and organizing events and fundraisers to support these organizations. In conclusion, being passionate about the US Constitution means being passionate about the fundamental principles and rights that it embodies. Being passionate about civil rights and social justice means that I will incorporate many ways to use my career in the music business to make a difference, including creating and performing music that addresses social issues, using my influence to support other artists and organizations, and supporting political campaigns and advocacy efforts.
    Financial Literacy Importance Scholarship
As a student, managing my finances is essential for several reasons. It helps me avoid or minimize debt. By managing my finances, I can avoid taking on unnecessary debt, which can be challenging to repay later. Excessive debt can lead to financial difficulties and negatively impact my credit score. By avoiding unnecessary debt, I reduce my monetary stress, maintain a good credit score, and have more financial flexibility to pursue my goals. Managing my finances ensures my spending is for necessary expenses and that I have a plan to repay them. I will save money for emergencies, future goals, and unexpected expenses by managing my finances well. Doing this ensures my financial security. Managing my finances will provide financial security, allowing me to focus on my studies and personal goals without worrying about money. To manage my finances well as a student, I created a budget by tracking my income and expenses. Then using the information, I made a budget that allocated my income to necessary costs such as rent, food, and transportation. I left room for saving and discretionary spending. Once I complete my budget, I track my spending. By doing this, I ensure that I stay within my budget and identify areas where I need to cut back. This helps me avoid unnecessary expenses. I find it helpful to identify and avoid spending money on unnecessary expenses such as eating out, entertainment, or expensive clothing. I use student discounts to take advantage whenever possible to save money on textbooks, transportation, and other expenses. The budget guides me in building an emergency fund, so I can set aside some money each month to be sure my emergency fund is available for me to tap into in case of unexpected expenses. By taking these actions, I am confident that my credit score will be positively impacted. A budget helps me to avoid failing to make payments on time, as this can negatively impact my credit score. A low credit score makes it difficult for people to qualify for loans or credit in the future. Poor credit scores lead to the creation of financial stress. This financial stress can negatively impact my mental and physical health. It can also cause strain on relationships and make it difficult to focus on studies or work.
