Going to college is number one on my mind. I have worked so hard throughout school to stay on top of my class studies, and make good grades. I like to spread my time and talents throughout sports, working, and being very involved in my community. I strive to be an Accounting. I feel in love with the field in high school. I was awarded the Accounting Department Award. That meant so much to me, because it solidified my passion for hard work and dedication has paid off. My other passion is community service. I was born and raised in Camden City NJ. My city is known for its violence, drug addiction, poor dilapidated home, and huge homeless population. I love volunteering and giving back to my community. I have seen, those that live in this city, lives get destroyed from gun violence, and drug addiction. Giving back gives me a sense of peace knowing that we all can make something more of ourselves. We can all strive to change our surroundings for the better. Although I may have grown up in harsh conditions, I am not a product of my environment. I am the change that my community needs to see. I show every day that I can make it through all things. My mother has instilled God in every part of my life. She has been a single mother since I was 8 years old, due to my father passing away from cancer. I have seen her struggle to make ends meet, I have seen her struggle to ensure I have a great education. My mother is my rock and she is all I have. Being awarded this scholarship will not only help her out financially, but also show her she did well raising me. Thank you.

My name is Trynity Singletary, a passionate and determined young African American woman, who is about to embark on her college journey at North Carolina A&T State University. Growing up, the path has been anything but smooth, yet it is these experiences that have shaped my perspective and fueled my desire to make a difference. I am a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Archonette Youth group, an organization that has instilled in me the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
Through our community service projects, we have served a wide range of communities, extending our help to the homeless, injured army veterans, and senior citizens who often spend their holidays alone. We have also contributed to the betterment of underdeveloped areas by cleaning up parks. Despite being a historically black organization, we have always ensured our services are extended to all, without judgement or bias. The goal has always been to uplift those who are unable to help themselves, and it is this principle that I intend to carry forward into my college life and beyond.
My chosen field of study is Accounting, a decision influenced by my belief that financial literacy is a powerful tool in combating poverty. I have seen the struggles of people unable to meet their day-to-day expenses and feed their families due to a lack of financial knowledge. I am convinced that a lack of financial literacy directly correlates to poverty, crime, and incarceration. If people understood how to build wealth, how to make their money work for them, it could drastically reduce these societal issues.
In ten years, I see myself as a successful accountant, but not just in the traditional sense. I envision myself using my knowledge and skills to educate others on the importance of financial literacy. I want to help children understand money, to teach them how to make informed decisions about their finances. I believe that by doing so, I can help them avoid the pitfalls of financial instability and set them on a path to a secure future.
My high school GPA of 3.6 is a testament to my academic dedication and commitment. It reflects my determination to excel in my chosen field, and my readiness to face the rigors of a college education. I am confident that my journey at North Carolina A&T State University will equip me with the knowledge and skills needed to make a significant impact in the finance industry.
In conclusion, my passion for helping others, coupled with my commitment to financial literacy, drives my ambition to make a difference in the finance industry. I am determined to use my education in Accounting to not only build a successful career for myself, but also to contribute to society by empowering others with financial knowledge.I am excited about the prospect of using this support to further my education and achieve my goals.
Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to take the next step in my academic journey, and I am committed to making a positive impact in the finance industry.
Accounting for Change Scholarship
Going to college is number one on my mind. I have worked so hard throughout school to stay on top of my class studies, and make good grades. I like to spread my time and talents with sports, working, and being very involved in my community. I strive to be an Accounting. I fell in love with the field in high school. I was awarded the Accounting Department Award. That meant so much to me, because it solidified that my passion for hard work and dedication has paid off. It also showed me that I can acheive what ever I put my mind to. I am sometimes really hard on myself, because I feel as if I may not push myself hard enough. I take my studies very serious, because I know my education is the key to my future. My other passion is community service. I was born and raised in Camden City NJ. My city is known for its violence, drug addiction, poor dilapidated home, broken families, and a huge homeless population. I love volunteering and giving back to my community. I have seen the lives of those that live in this city, get destroyed from gun violence, and drug addiction. Giving back gives me a sense of peace knowing that I am making a difference. If I can help better at least one person's life, I know it is truly a job well done. I truly believe that its takes a strong community to build successful businesses, and people. We can not do it alone. We need eachother to build one another up. By helping eachother we can all make something more of ourselves. We can all strive to change our surroundings for the better. Although I may have grown up in harsh conditions, I am not a product of my environment. I am the change that my community needs to see. I show every day that I can make it through all things.
