I have always had a dream of starting my own business in the agriculture field or teaching agriculture in schools. I am extremely passionate about animals and grew up around them. I have been around and riding horses my whole life. I already have an entrepreneurship in the agriculture field, which consists of equine boarding, equine buying and reselling, Beef production, and a feeder swine operation. I have recently gotten active in dog agility and other dog sports with my Miniature American Shepherds. I have started exploring the world. I went to Itay over the summer and now going to Ecuador for a study abroad program. I have enjoyed learning the agriculture and culture in new places!

My name is Tori Langman and I live on my family farm in south central Kentucky with my parents. This is a 3rd generation farm that produces commercial beef cattle, feeder pigs, and horses. Growing up I showed American Quarter Horses in all-around events, including ranch horse, stock horse, english, and jumping. I was also active in both 4-H and FFA. I held several officer positions in both throughout the years. In addition, I participated in many clubs, volunteer work, parliamentary procedure, horse, dairy and livestock judging, speeches, and entrepreneurship proficiency. Currently, in my spare time, I still ride horses, but on a much smaller scale. I have added training and competing with my Miniature American Shepherds in a variety of performance events including agility which is my favorite. However, most of my free time is spent helping my family on the farm. My goal is to help improve our beef cattle genetics through artificial insemination.
On our family farm I started a much smaller program of personal commercial beef cattle and a very small breeding program of Miniature American Shepherds (LF Ranch). I have a passion for animal genetics and with this passion I pursued getting a certification in artificial insemination in cattle. I use my artificial insemination skills I improve the producing genetics in my herd and my parent's herd of commercial beef cattle. Bulls can be matched to cows to improve their health and productivity, which in turn benefits the farm. My goal is to keep the family farm going through future generations since I feel like local beef and pork options are important to have. I also use genetics in my dogs to improve the breed one breeding at a time. My dogs have been carefully chosen, titled, and health tested to breed with purpose.
I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor in Animal Science and Agriculture Education at Western Kentucky University. I would like to keep going in education to pursue a Doctorate in Animal Science or related area. Growing up on a farm I grew a passion for not only animals and their care but also educating people of all ages and backgrounds on how important agriculture is. I believe that with my background I can provide information that will impact the world of agriculture. I also believe that everyone can and should have a small part in agriculture because everyone should know where their food is coming from.
