    Bold Moments No-Essay Scholarship
This is a picture of me and my mentor at the State Capitol building in Harrisburgh. This Picture was taken moment before I and immigrant students who are part of the Youth Steering committee program spoke in front of a state legislator on the education committee. We shared our experience as an English as a Second Language student, navigating a foreign school system . We also talked about changes that we would like to see in our school district. This moment is bold because even though I have appeared on panels before, I have never spoken to a state legislator.

I want to have a real-estate business, I plan to provide quality, affordable and sustainable housing to families that need it most, specifically by building apartment buildings that will act as community hubs for immigrant families new to the Pittsburgh area. I want to tell people who that living sustainable is attainable and affordable and people who need affordable housing deserve a good and quality homes just like everyone. I also want to tell people that living sustainably doesn't have to be as difficult and expensive as some people make it, sustainable living is customizable to fit their taste. Its is vital for the world to see my creation because the soon new trend will be living sustainable and whenever becomes a trend it also becomes expensive, so my creation will let people live a more sustainable living just by living in our apartments and it's affordable yet trendy. My business will also put people who can't afford to live a sustainable on the same starting line as everybody else. I know that having a affordable, quality and sustainable housing is a big dream that cost a lot of money that is why I am starting with something small called Visible Sustainable where i sell kit to help people who don't know how o start being sustainable.

I migrated to the US in 2014 with my family and over the years i have developed a lot of interest. The interests that are most important to me are advocacy, business, and real estate. My interest in advocacy started when I got involved with various organizations in Pittsburgh that address social and systemic problems in our community. When I was in 9th grade I was connected with ARYSE, a local nonprofit that has programs for immigrant youth. After attending their summer camp in 2017 and 2018, I joined the ARYSE Youth Steering Committee (YSC). The YSC is made up of immigrant students from around the world and we get together every month to talk about topics that are important to us and how we can get involved. One passion that we all share is advocacy, specifically environmental justice and immigrant rights. In 2019, we took a trip to Harrisburg to have our voices heard by government officials on these issues. Other organizations that I have been involved with that helped spark my interest in advocacy are Girl Gov and the Global Minds Initiative. Girl Gov is a civic-engagement program for high schoolers and this year I am one of the Mental Health Committee chairs. Our hope is to improve mental health resources and training in schools. Global Minds Initiative is an organization that helps make schools inclusive and welcoming. In 2019, I was the ESL (English as a Second Language) and Youth Development Coordinator through their fellowship program. This position allowed me to get feedback from ESL students at Global Minds chapters around the world, ensuring their voices are heard. Business and real estate are other important interests of mine that stem from my mom. In 2018, she took me to a real estate conference and we learned all about the industry and what it takes to be a real estate agent. This made me think about the ways I could connect my interests in advocacy and business to my mom’s interest in real estate. I knew that this would be a way to give back to my mom for all that she has done for me. Since then we have been planning a real estate business together that focuses on advocacy and meeting the needs of the tenants. In order to pursue my interests in advocacy, business, entrepreneurship, and real estate, I hope to attend the Rutgers Business School. My plan is to attend classes in business and entrepreneurship, get involved with advocacy and social justice clubs, and connect with peers, staff, and alumni. I believe that attending Rutgers University will prepare me to start my real estate business and will allow me to make a positive impact on the world. I use my voice to give power to those student whose voiced have been drowned and silenced. I better myself my joining program, paneling at events that are outside my comfort zone. I better myself by making sure that when I am using my voices, I don't focus on my story alone, and that i create a platform for students who want to have have their voices hear.
