After I graduate high school i want to go to college to pursue a Computer Science degree. The school im look at going to in Kennesaw State. During college i want to try different internships to see what specific job i want to pursue. Right now I would like to do front end things like design websites or even code and do things in the back end. While I'm in college I wouldn't mind playing the double bass aswell. When I graduate and I get a job that is possibly out of state i wouldn't mind taking it so I could see a different place other than Georgia while I'm taking a big step in my life.

Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
Back in the day, people would stumble into the kitchen ready to read their daily newspaper. They would have the paper in hand and stuff their face with food in the other. In the 1800's all they had in that paper were words on paper no pictures. There was no way of seeing what was happening then till 1826, which was when the world changed dramatically. Nowadays pictures and cameras are something people just shrug off on even because they don't understand the impact of them.
People always say glasses are our other sets of eyes but I truly believe that cameras and the pictures that are made from them is a memory that could never be forgotten. Cameras inspire me because of their never-ending impact on the world and the people in it. Being able to capture and keep your memories for later viewing is simply the gift that keeps on giving. Having the ability to make something that can help millions keep the memory of a passed loved one is very inspiring. The photos we get from cameras can act as a muse to keep us going when tragedy hits. In addition to this camera help us capture things that can't be seen by everyone like the moon or the sun. No one would have thought something so small could have this big of an impact on so many people and that's what's so inspiring. I am only a tiny percentage of what makes up this world and I can still make a big difference in the world just like the camera did.
People who say technology will lead to the world's demise really can't grasp the significant technological inventions like cameras have had on mankind. The sentiment cameras gift us is something that can never be repaid and we as people should be more thankful for it.
Hackworth-Rhodes STEM Scholarship
Throughout my whole adolescence and even now I’ve always dreamed big and set a lifetime of goals for myself. Setting and achieving goals is important to me because it gives me a chance to reflect on my hard work. These goals aren’t simple words I typed on a document, they’re things I want to accomplish. Some goals that I’ve achieved are having all As, a 4.0 GPA, and improving my skills on the double bass. Even though this list may seem small this is only a portion of the goals I’ve either reached or are planning on reaching. I have a whole life of goals and success ahead of me. Just like everyone else applying for this scholarship one of my main goals is to graduate college but, the main thing to me is how I’d use this degree. When I close my eyes and let my mind take control, I see myself out of college and starting somewhere as a web developer. This job doesn’t have to be at the biggest company or anything I just want a job that values me and my work. I want a job that doesn’t bore me, I want to be challenged and pushed to be the best I can be in my position, I feel that this is very important for not only my personal growth but also my growth career wise.
Let's look back to when I was just a little girl in my elementary school’s media center. The school introduced the students to coding and different the ways codes are used. I, being someone who loves to play games thought it was interesting that all these games that I loved to play like Super Mario and Call of Duty were all just codes. My little mind couldn’t fathom the fact that these games were all just alphabets made into strings and that’s what drove me to it even more. This newfound excitement later became a disappointment when I realized that this testosterone-heavy field wasn’t that welcoming to women. One of the main reasons for it not being that welcoming is because of the idea that it is a “man’s job”, and women simply can’t do it. The underrepresentation of women in the computer science field is a tough hill to climb on your own when it's already this preconceived idea that women lack the required intelligence for this major and career path. Being a woman in this male-dominated major is an obstacle on its own but I’m ready to take it on with full force because everyone should be able to see that with dedication women can do anything. In this field, I want to be able to make appealing websites that everyone can use with ease. I also want to show people that women can code just as good as a man. I want to prove this because I want to show women of all ages that they can do whatever they want regardless of others’ doubts.
