I am a first-generation college student. My goal is to take my major by storm! There are few minority females involved in this industry which provides me with the fuel to make my blueprint. “Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take toward reaching that goal.” - Simone Biles. This quote means a lot to me because every step I take I make sure I put my best foot forward. I generally set higher goals that are difficult to achieve so that I always have a challenge to overcome. With my major in college being an athletic trainer I look up to Simone a lot due to the obstacles she has overcome. Taking a major in the medical field has always been a dream and being able to face my dream head on means a lot to me.
I have a everlasting love for sports and the well-being of the players. That is why it's an ultimate dream to one day be on the sideline or behind the scenes aiding a National Sports Team. What is a dream if you are not willing to do the work? A dream unfulfilled is not an option to me and I will never let anything, or anyone get in the way!

I plan to succeed in college by participating in class, managing my time wisely, getting involved with school activities/clubs, and studying effectively. Participating and engaging in class is extremely important because through participating, I can connect with my classmates better along with my professor, who is a major aspect of my support system in college. Furthermore, time management is also crucial for my success in college because when I manage my time, I can quickly reduce the habit of procrastination and there will be less stress on me when the deadline for assignments will be due. Getting my homework done early can give me much more time to enjoy my college experience and have more time to relax my mind for the next day.
My next step to succeeding in college is getting involved in plenty of school activities and clubs. I plan to engage in the Student Government Association, cheerleading, greek life, and any other clubs where it involved community service or increasing school spirit. Engaging in my school's activities and clubs can be very beneficial on my resume for finding an internship or a full-time job in my career field. I will keep this step embedded in my mind as an important piece of advice for myself. Lastly, I plan on succeeding in college by studying effectively. College courses are much more hardcore than high school courses, so that means that studying will become more of a priority for me. I will never know what content will be on the test, so that means that I will study every bit of information I have been taught until I know it by heart, which will help me during the test.
If I continue to follow my steps for succeeding academically in college, I will get my college degree, which has many benefits attached. The main benefits of having a college degree are that it offers you amazing career opportunities and it helps you and your family financially. In your senior year of college, you gain many internships and one of those internships could turn into your actual job once you graduate. Throughout your four years of college, you are gaining a variety of skills you would eventually be utilizing with other people who could be your future co-workers. When you have a variety of social skills that are connected with your degree, it puts you as a top contender for a job than other candidates applying with you. In addition to getting a job with a college degree, college degrees can also help you and your family financially for generations to come. A main aspect of getting employed is the financial stability it provides. When you get your dream job, your job is giving you benefits as a part of your salary, such as helping with health care. The benefit of having a college education can be extended through multiple generations after you as you will be economically and socially successful, so you are assisting with the future of your family.
