Hello! My name is Taylor Miller. I am from Memphis, TN. I will be attending Lincoln University of Missouri in the fall. I am majoring in social work to become a positive figure for all children and families. In the past I have I can relate to a lot of children when it comes to not having much. People around me say that I can't but I can. I will be the best I can be. My goal for myself and everyone around me is to show that I can be successful. I can make my dream of having my community center come true. Be confident in me and my work. By going to college and surrounding myself with creative minds I can create ideas that will make the world better for troubled families that can not get the help they need. You can never learn enough. I want to be that person people can say I did help them in any type of way. I want to give not receive.

Black women are the best women. As a black woman, you have to be the best you can be. people will look down on you for anything. Black Girl Magic is not about what other people think of you, it's what you think of yourself. It is knowing who you are and loving it. Confidence is a big problem for us black women when you have people saying negative things to put you down. Believe in yourself always because that is the only person that will be there for you at the end of your life. We as women have to be strong, creative, confident, etc. Growing up with only a mother in the house I had to grow up faster. My mom had eight children with me being the youngest girl. The struggle on a day to day was hard. I knew my father but he never cared to help any of his children if they were not boys. My mom is the definition of an extraordinary black woman. It made me want to get into the major of social work. I feel I empower people through the mindset I have. I think a lot about everything before answering. I talk to women more female friends about what problems they have within themselves. They come to me about relationship advice, but I help them understand that you are a beautiful black woman that can do anything. focus on what makes you happy before a man. I empower them with my words of encouragement to forget about other men and women and make sure they know and love themselves before anyone else. I love making people smile. I love being able to help them start loving themselves. Learn that you can say no and that their feelings matter. All black women matter and everyone needs to understand that.

"I Am Woman" by Emmy Meli is the song that helps me stay motivated to finish my day with a smile.
This song speaks value for all women. The first time I listened to the song it felt like the only thing I needed to believe in is me. Music is my life and I can't live without it. it's the calming part before all the chaos. I have been playing clarinet for eight years. From middle school until now. Being in a Marching band you are around people you feel are better than you. More experienced and you may think they know more. I had that motivation to be better than the people around me. I have to be strong, by keeping my head held high no matter the circumstances. No matter what drama is around me. no matter the pressure on my back. Confidence is what this song gives me. I feel her energy through the song like a cold breeze. I still say I will never be enough. Situations come my way that I say I can't handle before trying. I am a woman. I am very creative. Most of all I am unbeatable.
