Bold Best Skills Scholarship
I enjoy cooking, and I believe it is my best skill. When I cook, I can relieve all the stress from school. I also really enjoy baking because, by cooking, I can help my mom and also feed my three younger siblings. I usually have my family taste my food to tell me what’s missing or if I did something wrong, like adding too much salt, which I tend to do frequently. By knowing my mistake, I can improve my cooking skills and make better tasting than before; therefore, I am learning from my mistakes. My mom is Palestinian, and she makes delicious authentic Palestinian food. I usually watch her cook so that I can learn helpful cooking techniques. I also enjoy watching her because I can connect to my country’s culture and tradition. I haven’t been in the kitchen for a while due to the workload from school and college applications. But now that winter break has begun, I am excited to be back in the kitchen to practice, improve my skills, and, most importantly, have fun.
