As a student from Atlanta who loves playing sports and spending time with the stuff that I've been presented with, I have always had a passion for learning how things work and figuring out solutions to problems. It was this natural curiosity that led me to become interested in STEM fields. After much research, I decided to pursue a major in computer science. The field of computer science is constantly evolving, and it offers a lot of opportunities to make a positive impact on the world. As a software engineer, I hope to develop innovative software solutions that address real-world problems such as improving healthcare systems, reducing carbon emissions, or making education more accessible. In addition to my computer science degree, I'm also interested in taking courses in other STEM fields. I believe that having a broad understanding of STEM will give me a more holistic approach to problem-solving, and it can help me develop new and creative solutions. For example, combining my knowledge of computer science with biology could lead to developing software that helps researchers understand how different genes interact with each other. This could eventually lead to the development of new treatments for diseases that were previously difficult to treat. Furthermore, I believe that getting involved in social and environmental causes is important as well. As someone who cares deeply about the environment, I would like to use my skills to help address environmental issues. Volunteering my time and skills to non-profit organizations that use technology to address social and environmental issues would be a great way to make a positive impact on the world. For example, I could work with an organization that develops software that tracks deforestation rates in the Amazon rainforest. By getting involved in social and environmental causes, I can use my skills to make a positive impact on the world and improve the lives of people and the environment. Lastly, I believe that inspiring and mentoring the next generation of STEM professionals is crucial. By participating in outreach programs that introduce STEM to underrepresented groups or becoming a mentor to students who are interested in pursuing STEM careers, I can help create a more diverse and inclusive STEM community. By doing so, I can inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers, which will help make the world a better place. In conclusion, my passion for STEM, combined with my desire to make a positive impact on the world, has led me to pursue a career in computer science. Through my education and involvement in social and environmental causes, I hope to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems and help make the world a better place.
