1.) I deserve this scholarship because I am a fantastic procrastinator. Whatever I set my mind to, I have an exceptional talent for not completing. Because of this, I feel that I am uniquely qualified for scholarship money because this behavior of procrastination will luckily not disappear in college. 2.) My academic goals are to get a degree so that I can get paid. Academics themselves are exceptionally boring and strenuous making a degree my only real motivation for schoolwork. However, my dream career is to not work at all so I would ideally like to set up a system where I can get paid to do nothing. 3.) I overcame an obstacle today when I made hot chocolate. To make the hot chocolate, I had to boil milk. This is very against my typical ideology so I was understandably disturbed by this. However, I persisted through this obstacle and was able to successfully boil the almond milk to make some amazing orange-flavored hot chocolate.

Everyone has their thing, yet mine always seems too small. This is because while others talk about their love of reading or competing in a sport, my favorite activity to take pleasure in is listening to music. It is a very trivial activity but no matter where I am or what I am going through, music always resonates with my soul and brings me immense joy. From a young age, I loved music. I would dance around my living room to Celtic Woman and the Powerpuff Girls soundtrack while mimicking the words that were being sung. Although my taste in music and understanding of lyrics has changed, the rest is still the same. Every day I wake up and the first thing I do is pop in my earbuds and press shuffle on my "Liked Songs" playlist on Spotify. Every time I do this, I feel grounded and happy in my reality. This is because even though the world is passing by me, I am separate and safe in the soundscape reverberating through my head. Alongside listening to music to prepare me for my day, I also always turn to music when I want to marinate in my emotions. This is especially true when I am excited about something. Listening to upbeat music always keeps the smile painted across my face for a lot longer. It also brings back the childhood instinct to dance around my living room as if my life is a music video. Although it's childish, the joy I get from this makes me ignore any judgment that may come from others. All in all, in every moment of my life there is a soundtrack playing in my head. This music grounds me and brings me immense joy. No matter outside judgment, music is my simple pleasure.
