I’m a freshman at Stony Brook University and I aspire to support America’s health system by working hard to achieve a notable status therein. My passion for neuroscience stems from a deeply rooted sense of responsibility toward my home country, Myanmar, which suffers from a critical shortage of neurologists and neurosurgeons. This scarcity has left many in dire need of expert care, a reality that I cannot idly accept. As I continue to develop my knowledge and skills in this field, I am driven by an unwavering commitment to return to Myanmar and contribute to the well-being of my people by offering my expertise in neuroscience.
Some of my hobbies are: painting, teaching, designing, and reading comics!

A Journey of Impact and Aspiration
Throughout my life, I have always been driven by a deep desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others, especially those in my home country. My journey began in earnest when I moved to the United States, a move that coincided with a tragic coup back home. This turmoil profoundly affected me and ignited a fervent commitment to help those affected. I leveraged my artistic skills to create and sell paintings, dedicating all proceeds to charity. This endeavor was not just about fundraising; it was a heartfelt expression of my solidarity and empathy for those suffering miles away. My involvement did not stop at art sales. I actively participated in various charity events across multiple states, lending my time, energy, and voice to causes that aimed at providing relief and support to those in dire need.
This phase of my life was a revelation. It taught me the power of individual initiative and the impact one can have on a community, both near and far. These experiences solidified my career aspirations - to master the field of healthcare, with a specific focus on neurology. The choice of this specialization is not arbitrary. In my home country, neurological care is severely lacking, a deficiency that has long-term implications on the health and well-being of its population. By becoming a neurologist, I aim to fill this gap, bringing expertise and hope to those who have for long been neglected in this crucial area of healthcare.
My goal is to not just be a doctor, but a beacon of change and progress. I envision establishing clinics and training centers in my home country, where the latest neurological treatments and knowledge can be shared and applied. This initiative will not only provide immediate care to those in need but also lay the foundation for a sustainable, improved healthcare system. Education and training of local healthcare professionals are also part of my vision, ensuring that the impact of my work is enduring and self-propagating.
The scholarship funded by Rohit Prasad resonates deeply with my personal experiences and aspirations. Like Mr. Prasad, I have felt the impact of scholarships in easing the financial burden of education. His story is a testament to the transformative power of education and the importance of giving back. This scholarship is not just financial assistance; it is an enabler of dreams, a catalyst for change, and a bridge connecting my aspirations to reality.
In conclusion, my journey has been shaped by a blend of compassion, action, and a clear vision for my future. I am committed to transforming the landscape of neurological healthcare in my home country, turning deficiencies into strengths, and despair into hope. This scholarship will be a crucial step towards realizing these goals, enabling me to acquire the education and skills necessary to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of countless individuals. Through my career in public service, I aim to exemplify the values of empathy, dedication, and transformation, creating a legacy that resonates with the very ethos of this scholarship.

Embracing New Horizons from Myanmar to the US
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet," Helen Keller said. As I sit down to think about my journey of facing hardship, these words come to mind. "Trouble and suffering are the only ways to strengthen the soul, spark ambition, and achieve success." When I moved from Myanmar to the United States to go to college, these words hit home because my trip has been both hard and life-changing.
Growing up, I lived in Myanmar, a country with rich history and culture. My family, friends, and the food from my home country made me feel...well...at home. My life was connected to a warm community, and it was in this safe haven of comfort that my hopes for going to college started to take shape. But going after this dream meant leaving everything I knew and loved behind and going into the unknown.
One of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make was to move to the United States to go to school. Not only did I have to move, but I also had to leave my safety zone and face a whole new world by myself. As I got on the plane, I remember feeling a mix of excitement and fear. I knew I was about to start a new part of my life that was full of unknowns.
The first few days in the United States were a blur of getting used to things and learning new things. I had to deal with missing home, changes in culture, and language obstacles. Simple things like going food shopping or taking the bus turned into tough trials. The sights, sounds, and tastes of Myanmar that were known to me were missed, and being away from my friends made me miss their support even more. But it was during these hard times that I learned how strong and resilient I really was.
I learned to appreciate the different cultures and points of view around me, seeing beauty in the mix. I found comfort in sharing my experiences and making friends that went beyond distance. I pushed myself in school and really focused on my work. I became grateful for the chance to learn in a world setting.
This journey has taught me a lot about how to keep going, be flexible, and keep an upbeat attitude. I've learned that getting through hard times isn't about getting rid of the problems, but about growing through them. Because of what I've been through, I'm more driven than ever to reach higher goals. I hope that one day I can use my education to help people in the US and in Myanmar.
While I continue my schooling, I will remember the things I learned from this. I'm stronger, more willing to learn, and more driven to achieve. There is more to the Janean D. Watkins Overcoming Adversity Scholarship than just money. It's a way to recognize the struggles and successes of students like me who have been brave enough to leave their comfort zones to follow our goals.
Finally, my trip from Myanmar to the United States has shown me how education can change lives and how the human spirit can get through hard times. It has made me more caring, brave, and driven, and I'm ready to take on the obstacles and seize the chances that lie ahead. This journey has been great, and I can't wait to see what comes next.
Eleven Scholarship
The lessons we take from the obstacles we encounter can indeed be fundamental to later success. In life, we face numerous challenges, setbacks, and failures. However, it is how we respond to these hardships that truly defines our character and sets the stage for our future growth. My home country, Myanmar, experienced a devastating coup in 2021, resulting in widespread unrest and instability. When news of this crisis reached me, I was overcome with emotions, feeling heartbroken and overwhelmed. This difficult time took a heavy toll on my mental well-being, causing setbacks in various aspects of my life, including my school performance, volunteer work, and grades.
Despite these setbacks, I realized that it was more important than ever for me to step up and take action to help my home country during this desperate time. I decided to create a summer program in 2022 to voluntarily tutor students in Myanmar in subjects such as math and language. By sharing my knowledge and skills, I hoped to make a difference in the lives of young people in Myanmar, giving them the tools they need to succeed academically and personally. To further support the cause, I utilized my artistic talents to create pieces that I sold at charity events, with all proceeds going towards relief efforts in Myanmar. I also became an active participant in charity and fundraiser events in and around my state. I believed that my involvement in these events would not only raise much-needed funds but also raise awareness about the ongoing crisis.
Taking my advocacy efforts to the highest level, I wrote a letter to President Biden, voicing my concerns about the situation in Myanmar and urging him to take action. To my surprise and delight, I received a letter back from the President acknowledging my work and expressing his support for the cause. Even now, I continue to contribute to the best of my abilities. I understand that the road to recovery for my home country will be long and arduous, and I am committed to playing an active role in rebuilding and restoring hope in the hearts of the Myanmar people.
From this experience, I learned that we can turn our personal struggles into powerful catalysts for change. By channeling my emotions and energy into proactive measures, I was able to overcome the mental setbacks I faced and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by the crisis in Myanmar. This journey also taught me the importance of resilience, perseverance, and the power of community in overcoming challenges.
In conclusion, the lessons we learn from the obstacles we face can indeed be fundamental to our future success. When confronted with the challenge of the crisis in Myanmar, I chose to rise above my emotional turmoil and take decisive action to make a difference. In doing so, I learned valuable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and the power of community. These lessons will undoubtedly serve me well as I continue to face challenges and strive for success in all aspects of my life.

I can't imagine going out without my headphones. As soon as I get on school, I take them out of my bag and plug them in. As soon as I hear the opening rhythm of the music, my feet begin to tread to class. I shut my eyes as the sunshine reflects off the pavement. I'm much more absorbed in the symphony in my thoughts now that my eyes are closed. The wind is blowing my hair back, making me feel like Beyoncé on tour. As I finish the last leg of my globe tour, I continue to walk. My life has always revolved around music.
At the age of eight, I was exposed to playing music for the first time in elementary school. We were given the opportunity to try out several instruments from the band and orchestra. I first glanced at the piano and discovered a new lifelong passion of mine, one that'd give me motivational drive every day and every night I needed it. The following week I was enrolled into piano classes and it all started from there. I went on to perform at smaller shows in town and occasionally play for my school as well. Music gives me life!
Bold Nature Matters Scholarship
Our towns and cities are still growing. New construction continues to eat away at the natural landscapes that surround towns and cities, causing congestion. The issue with expanding cities is that more traffic, housing, and companies may increase air pollution in certain areas. The globe is increasingly worried about air pollution. People nowadays seek refuge in natural areas where the air is clearer, giving them the impression of being able to breathe a bit easier. Naturally, this makes natural settings ideal for meditation and yoga, both of which rely heavily on breathing. As a result, we're seeing more yoga retreats and green gyms set up shop in natural settings. Nature helps the senses by offering new and refreshing fragrances, a stunning array of colors to see, a variety of textures to touch, and a variety of soothing sounds.
Getting away from your everyday routine and experiencing new sensations may help you feel refreshed while also demonstrating your body's potential. Did you know that humans can also track using only their sense of smell? Scientists observed that individuals who spend more time in nature are more in sync with their environment, which may boost individual performance in a variety of ways. I attempt to encourage you to be more conscious of nature and love its counterparts. I actively value the excellent and growing things in our environment. As climate change and activism become more prevalent, it is important to recognize that increased awareness may lead to more effective action.

Everyone has aspirations and desires in life. Life is less meaningful without dreams. My ambition for the future is to work as a doctor. Doctors always play a more important role in any part of the globe since they save people's lives. I want to be a doctor because I want my society to be a happy and healthy place for everyone. I'd want to pursue a profession as a doctor, and I'm constantly excited when I think about it. It makes me quite happy on the inside. Doctors have a wonderful and unique career since few other occupations are capable of saving people's lives.
My local doctor back-home has always been an inspiration to me; she is a humble doctor who helps her patients with the greatest medical knowledge she has. She also never refused treatment to anyone who could not afford it. I learned from her that physicians' jobs are not about generating money, but rather about assisting people in living happy and healthy lives. In my future profession as a doctor, I want to make a difference in people's lives. I think that vocations or callings are not revealed via material possessions such as money, power, or celebrity. Any job that promises the aforementioned benefits is not a calling.
Callings need a lifelong commitment to mankind and do not promise fame or money. People in vocational employment must be altruistic and willing to give their resources to guarantee that others are pleased. Though it arrived in an unusual form, I feel my desire to become a doctor is a summons from an extremely strong desire to put my abilities to good use.

The track "Not Afraid," dubbed one of Eminem's biggest successes, was released at a period of self-healing for the Detroit rapper. This song pours forth Eminem's pledge to stand on his own two feet, abandoning his normal insane, wacky, enjoyable, and humorous lyrics. Why? Let's take a look at the song's background, lyrics, and significance.
On April 29, 2010, Eminem released "Not Afraid" as the first single off his seventh studio album, "Recovery." The song was an immediate success, selling over 380,000 copies in its first week. The song also debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles list, a record done by just 16 other songs in the chart's history. The tracks "Lose Yourself" and "Crack A Bottle" by Eminem previously debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was certified 10x Platinum by the RIAA in June 2014, indicating that it has sold over 10 million copies in the United States alone.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Eminem also discussed the song. Em will become a role model for the viewers, according to the interviewer. He said, " "It's good if I can be anything to others. Some individuals may hold me in high regard. Some individuals may see me as a threat. But I appreciate every fan letter I get and every individual who claims I saved their life. I'm not sure, dude. I feel like I took an extended vacation. It's time to go back to doing what I love after four or five years of not doing anything. I have a lot of petrol in my tank right now. I only want to make amends for disappointing others."
Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
My attitude on life isn't as upbeat as I make it out to be. I have trouble trusting people, especially those who are close to me. Of course, I've been trained my whole life not to trust or speak with strangers, but not with those who know I'm susceptible to them. I often feel silly reflecting back on this small period of time, but I must remember not to minimize this major event in my life since it profoundly affected the person I have come to despise through time. My viewpoint of trust and comfort in my life was forever altered when I lost my feeling of security to someone I considered a close friend. She took advantage of the fact that I was unable to act, and she used that time to disregard morality, my sentiments, and my safety. I blame myself for not being able to say no and for not being interested, but being mute and pushing her away was not a verbal or physical form of permission. I feel like I've been dreading this experience for a long time, but I've learnt to be very cautious about who I allow into my life and who I freely exhibit and express my story to. This required time and mending; keeping this knowledge to myself just made things worse, teaching me that the true value of trust and security is found in those who really care about your well-being. This experience has also taught me that this is not a personal weakness of mine; it continuously demonstrates what I am capable of and how strong I have grown.

Bold Happiness Scholarship
A favorable condition of mind and body is referred to as happiness. Happy individuals often grin, sing, dance, etc., but what is the root of it all. Each individual in the world has a unique view on what constitutes happiness. Each of us must choose and record the things that may bring us happiness. Whenever we are in a foul mood or melancholy, we may engage in these activities to achieve pleasure.
I am a firm believer in the concept of living a simple life with a lofty mind. When it comes to answering the question, "What makes me happy?", I am utterly bewildered. This is due to the fact that I find delight in the tiniest of things. It will be extremely impossible to list all of the things that make me happy, so I will just name a few of the things that make me happy.
My family contributes much to my happiness. The most cherished gift to us on earth is our parents. I am happiest when I am spending quality time with my family members. The extreme attention and affection they provide us cannot be matched by anything. When my parents are experiencing troubles or are stressed, it is often seen on my face as well. It makes me joy to see my parents smile. Another source of my happiness comes from self-fulfillment by helping others around me. I believe that most of us are privileged enough to help at least a few people in our lives, be it in large sums or a little to give.
Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
We need emotional intelligence (EQ) most where it is least likely to be found: in the workplace, relationship, and even our beliefs. The environment continues to be the final stronghold of IQ cultism, since many individuals continue to feel that becoming personal hinders efficiency. At work, for example, you lack the emotional links that encourage you to get along with people at home. You lack a common past to help you comprehend the motivations of individuals around you. Consequently, it is even more crucial that you have a technique to tune in to what your coworkers need right now. You already possess this capability, which consists of active awareness and the resulting empathy. Using these aspects of your EQ may assist you in achieving success and resolving issues on the work. If you can read and react to people's emotions, office politics, morale issues, and lack of collaboration do not have to devastate your career.
Our emotions come to us before our thinking, yet we have learnt to reject our intuition at work. As several astute investors, marketers, and designers can testify, stock market profits, publicity blitzes, and the creation of new products often rely on intuition. There is not always enough time for systematic data collection. Also, there is not always a necessity. In the end, your hunches are the result of instantly received and processed emotional information that informs you what matters most to you in any given scenario, what may be incorrect based on your past experiences, and when something is not as it appears.
Mental health is described as an individual's emotional and psychological well-being, which is a significant component in their existence. Obstacles in my life that questioned the stability and concept of my mental health have significantly altered my personality and pushed me to become a more determined individual. By overcoming these psychological obstacles, I was able to uncover the ideals and values around which I have built my life. Bullying and verbal abuse have prompted me to sever ties with former friends who were not there for me when I needed them. These alterations have also enabled me to recognize characteristics that have had a profound impact on my life.
I severed connections that were not advantageous to my mental health as a result of bullying from close friends and classmates. Throughout my latter years of elementary school and both academic years of junior high, I endured severe bullying due to my obesity. In primary school, I was constantly selected last for recess, and others referred to me as "fat." This led me to feel emotionally fragile and physically inferior to the other students in my class. After graduating from elementary school, it worsened in middle school as my weight increased. The verbal abuse worsened as some of my friends began calling me fat on a daily basis and harassing me. The frequent fat-shaming prompted me to cease communicating with these individuals, since it significantly impacted my self-esteem and mental health. Even though I still struggled with the physical and mental difficulties of being overweight, severing these interactions with toxic individuals helped me feel better about myself.
My own experiences with mental health and the circumstances that tested it prompted me to modify my values, my physical health, and my career aspiration in the medical field. The principles on which I currently base my activities are a reflection of my upbringing, my school environment, and society as a whole. My peers and classmates made fun of my physical health, forcing me to develop a poor self-perception and eventually alter my physique for the better. Even while these hurdles had negatively impacted my mental health as a youngster, they helped me identify my life's purpose throughout adolescence.

Research reveals that family and friend support is an important aspect of assisting someone with a mental illness. This support network offers both practical and emotional assistance. These networks may include our parents, children, siblings, spouses or partners, extended relatives, close friends, and people who care for us, such as our neighbors, colleagues, coaches, and instructors. Some individuals have bigger networks than others, but the majority of us have at least a few people we can rely on in times of need. There are a number of significant ways in which family and friends may aid in the mental illness recovery journey. Early intervention is essential in the treatment of mental disorders. Family and friends are often the first to recognize a problem. Finding an effective therapy is often a matter of trial and error; thus, family members may be the first to see indications of improvement. Families may also provide assistance with day-to-day elements such as economics, problem-solving, housing, diet, leisure and exercise, and healthy sleeping patterns. You can play a significant role in reducing the isolation and embarrassment of someone who is ill. They are not responsible for their sickness, despite the fact that they may feel or be told that they are. You can assist foster optimism. If you spend a great deal of time with your loved ones, you can remind them to take their meds. You may also be able to explain to a physician why meds are not being taken properly. Similarly, you may be responsible for reminding your loved one to complete their counselling homework or use their light therapy treatment each morning, or to make or keep their treatment appointments.

Emotions of fear and discomfort may be associated with the subject of death. Death is an aspect of life that cannot be avoided; it is unavoidable. Despite this undeniable truth, American society has influenced the very concept of death, causing such anxiety that the issue has become taboo.
However, on my father's side of the family, I just lost my grandfather. As people become older, they are more prone to have health problems as a result of diseases that develop as they age. In this situation, my grandpa died at the age of 90 as a result of such health issues, which forced him to spend the final few months of his life in the hospital. When I say that having my family live in a different country is difficult, I'm talking about not being able to sit with my dying grandpa in his hospital bed or grasp his hand and console him when she was plainly in agony. It's also distressing to watch my grandpa, who is physically impaired and unable to connect or communicate well via a small mobile phone or computer screen. In addition, after my grandfather's death, my family was unable to attend his burial and say their last goodbyes to him.
Nevertheless, my parents helped me immensely through these tough times and were severely patient themselves, not letting this event break them down from being strong and responsible in regards to their loving parenthood. This episode taught me numerous things, one of which was that it is essential to take care of those around you even if you may be in some sort of pain or dilemma yourself for you may find fulfillment in that and live a happier life.

Penicillin ushered in the antibiotic era. There was no effective therapy for illnesses such as pneumonia, gonorrhoea, or rheumatic fever before to its introduction. Hospitals were teeming with patients who had caught blood poisoning as a result of a cut or a scrape, and physicians could do nothing more than wait and pray.Antibiotics are bacteria and fungi-produced chemicals that are capable of killing or suppressing competing microbial species. This phenomena has long been recognized; it may explain why the ancient Egyptians used a moldy bread treatment to infected wounds. However, it was not until 1928 that Alexander Fleming, Professor of Bacteriology at St. Mary's Hospital in London, developed penicillin, the first real antibiotic.
On September 3, 1928, upon his return from vacation, Fleming started sorting petri dishes containing colonies of Staphylococcus, the bacteria that cause boils, sore throats, and abscesses. He noticed something peculiar about one of the dishes. It was densely packed with colonies, with the exception of one region where a glob of mold was forming. The immediate vicinity of the mold—which was eventually identified as a rare strain of Penicillium notatum—was clean, as if the mold had produced something that hindered bacterial development.
Fleming discovered that his "mold juice" was capable of eliminating a broad variety of pathogenic bacteria, including streptococcus, meningococcus, and diphtheria. He then assigned the laborious process of separating pure penicillin from mold juice to his subordinates, Stuart Craddock and Frederick Ridley. It proved to be very unstable, and they were able to operate with only primitive material solutions. In June 1929, Fleming published his results in the British Journal of Experimental Pathology, making just a brief allusion to penicillin's medicinal potential.
Bold Gratitude Scholarship
There are several things in this world for which we express gratitude, but we choose not to express it until Thanksgiving, Christmas, or a birthday approaches. Perhaps this is because it is more convenient to live your daily life for yourself, or because we are afraid that what we are grateful for will not reciprocate in like and we would be left empty-handed. The issue with this is that tangible possessions such as money and presents will eventually fade away, regardless of how thoughtful or costly they are. When someone gets appreciation, even something as little as a thank you for holding the door, they are more inclined to reciprocate. When kindness gets hold, it spreads like wildfire. We should be grateful for all we have on a daily basis, not only on holidays, since the things we have do not exist just for those particular occasions.
Every action and statement we make has an effect on someone, whether directly or indirectly. What we say and how we treat others is really important. Gratitude does not need to be a grand gesture. It might be as simple as a token of appreciation for being there for you or as much as you choose. The notion of a "major gesture" varies according to who is speaking. If it's a friend, purchasing breakfast may drive them to tears; yet, if it's a sibling, they will not blink an eye. In any case, expressing your concern and gratitude is critical, even if they do not reciprocate. It is not up to you how others react to your compassion; but, offering kindness important. It improves the world, and there is always space for additional methods to express gratitude.

This is the voyage of Zhang Qian to the west. His is a tale of devotion and tenacity. Zhang was first sent by Emperor Han Wudi to the remote province of Rouzhi in order to secure a military alliance against the Mongolian Xiongnu tribes. Zhang had to traverse mountains, deserts, and hostile territory to get there. Zhang Qian is one of the greatest Chinese men in history, in my opinion (along with Yue Fei, but I feel like talking about Zhang Qian today).
The year is 138 BC (more than two thousand years ago). At the time, the Xiongnu Kingdom of Mongolia was Asia's most powerful empire. Several decades before, in the battle of Pingcheng, the Xiongnu army successfully beat the Han Chinese army. The Emperor of China himself was on the verge of being kidnapped, were it not for the Xiongnu's preference for commerce over global dominance. As a consequence, the great Xiongnu chanyu (Xiongnu for "chief") Modu agreed to spare China on the condition that unfair trade tactics against Han China would be implemented in favour of the Xiongnu Empire. Additionally, the Chinese were compelled to deliver princesses as captives to the Xiongnu, a process known as Heqin.
All of this began to alter with the accession of Han Wudi to the throne. He no longer desired that his kingdom remain subservient to the Xiongnu, and therefore devised strategies for defeating the Xiongnu. He was aware that the Xiongnu had beaten the Rouzhi and compelled them to go west. Rouzhi's King was also caught and murdered, and the Xiongnu's evil ritual was to use the captive leader's skull as a cup. As such, Emperor Han Wudi desired to enlist the assistance of the Rouzhi people in his struggle against the Xiongnu.
Learner Education Women in Mathematics Scholarship
To begin, we must evaluate why mathematics is so unique and crucial in comparison to other subjects. That is, what function does mathematics play in the overall curriculum of the school? To begin, we'll discuss why mathematics should be considered as a key component of the overall curriculum. Mathematics is a topic that spans several disciplines. In a broader historical context, mathematics (geometry and algebra) were two of the seven liberal arts in ancient Greece and mediaeval Europe. This historical significance bolsters the notion that mathematics provided the mental discipline required for the development of other professions.
Mathematics literacy is a necessary feature of individuals who lead more productive lives as creative, responsible, and considerate citizens. Mathematics literacy is described as the ability to do basic mathematics, quantitative reasoning, and spatial reasoning. Mathematics is employed in a broad number of industries and disciplines; mathematical concepts and procedures, for example, are used to solve problems in science, engineering, and economics. (For instance, a basic understanding of complex numbers is necessary to comprehend a variety of electrical subjects.) Due to the complexity of such challenges, they often need the application of more sophisticated mathematical concepts and approaches than the aforementioned mathematical literacy. Mathematics is an integral part of our common cultural past as humans, and we owe it to future generations to preserve it.
Second, since mathematics serves as the foundation for other school subjects such as science, art, and economics, the link between mathematics and other school subjects needs to be addressed. Mathematics is taught separately in some curricula to augment the study of other school subjects as a 'instrumental subject,' while others provide integrated courses that include mathematics and other disciplines.
Thirdly, we may compare the hours (% of hours) and/or courses devoted to mathematics in each country's curriculum to those devoted to other disciplines. Along with this quantitative study, data on the comparative performance of school mathematics and other disciplines must be acquired. While this comparison will not fully explain why different countries put such a high emphasis on mathematics, it will likely spark more discussion.
A solid mathematical and scientific foundation nurtures and refines the skills to generate hypotheses, design experiments and controls, evaluate data, detect patterns, seek evidence, conclusions, and proof, solve problems, and seek absolutes, all while being sensitive to new information. Mathematics education will produce not simply more engineers and scientists, but also more individuals capable of learning and thinking creatively and critically across all career sectors. It will be a requirement of the future workforce in all professions.

The advancement of technology and its consequences on society have always piqued my curiosity, and I've always had a strong desire to learn more about them. I've lately started to thrive in Biology rather than Chemistry or Physics, and I'd want to continue my studies in this field. Biological Technologies, in my view, are a valuable resource that is rapidly becoming increasingly valuable to business and medical as subjects such as biomaterials and genetics advance. I think there are still many fresh and interesting discoveries buried in nature that will benefit humanity and the environment. I'd want to take part in the next breakthrough.
Consider how genetic fingerprinting may be used for identification or how gene technology can be used to put new features into plants that allow them to flourish in salt farmland that has been harmed. Then there's the possibility that biomass and other renewable biological fuels could be used to at least partially replace fossil fuels, which are rapidly depleting and have long been damaging the environment.
Even the discipline's practitioners are overwhelmed by the volume of data created by biotechnology research, as it is in other disciplines of science. So, how can we make genetics' content and consequences understandable to those who aren't experts? To answer that question, we need to define exactly what we want the general public to know about genetics and why. That knowledge is often expressed in the negative: It is not the intention to transform everyone become a genetics expert. Except for the assumption that the public should be able to make informed judgments regarding personal and societal applications of new genetic information, there is little consensus on the goal or substance of public education.
The integration of new data into an unified image of biology for the common person will be possibly the biggest challenge for public education as biotechnology knowledge grows. The scientific community must play a key part in this integration, collaborating with educators to figure out how to effectively make these tough, at times befuddling subjects intelligible to the general public. We must overcome the information's intrinsic complexity as well as the anxiety that emerges when new knowledge causes us to face and maybe alter long-held ideas about what it is to be human, particularly in genetics. The good news is that genetics, particularly its applications to personal and public health, continues to pique public attention.
Future Leaders in Technology Scholarship - High School Award
The advancement of technology and its consequences on society have always piqued my curiosity, and I have a strong desire to learn more about them. I've recently begun to excel in Biology rather than Chemistry or Physics, and I intend to continue my studies in this field. Biological Technologies, in my view, are a vital resource that is rapidly becoming increasingly relevant to business and medical as subjects such as Bio-Materials and Genetics expand. I feel that there are still many fresh and fascinating discoveries concealed inside nature that may benefit mankind and the environment waiting to be discovered. I'd want to be a part of the next breakthrough.
It's likely that my passion with science began with my first visit to the library. The book I picked in the five minutes before closing time was one on Fungus of the British Isles, as uninteresting and odd as it may seem. Following that, I devoured the Eyewitness Guides series, which chronicles technological advancements from the Stone Age to the current day. What I appreciate reading today in publications like Fresh Scientist and on other scientific websites is how new breakthroughs may be put to practical use to tackle contemporary challenges.
Consider how genetic fingerprinting may be used for identification, or how gene technology can be used to put new features into plants that allow them to survive in salt farmland that has been harmed. Then there's the chance that biomass and other renewable biological fuels may be utilized to at least partly replace fossil fuels, which are rapidly depleting and have been wreaking havoc on the environment for decades. Finally, I find it incredible that spider silk is stronger than steel cable on a weight-for-weight basis, and that in places such as China, bamboo is strong enough to be used for scaffolding that we in the West must use steel for. I feel there is huge potential in information like these. The possibilities are unlimited in nature and society, where I think almost everyone and everything has a place and role.
The quantity of data created by genetics research, like that generated by other areas of science, overwhelms even the discipline's practitioners. So, how can we make genetics' content and consequences understandable to non-experts? The answer to that question requires a clear understanding of why we want the general public to learn about genetics in the first place. The majority of the time, such understanding is expressed in the negative: The goal is not to transform every member of the public become a genomics expert. Except for the assumption that the public should be able to make informed judgments regarding the personal and social applications of new genetic information, there is little consensus on the goal or substance of public education. Some academics, on the other hand, doubt the argument's validity as a general explanation for greater public scientific literacy or a guide for deciding curriculum.
Learner.com Algebra Scholarship
To begin, we must consider why mathematics is so significant and distinctive among other topics. That is, what role does mathematics play within the entire school curriculum? As a starting point, we present a few reasons why mathematics should be viewed as a critical component of the entire curriculum. Mathematics is a cross-disciplinary subject. If we consider the history of education more broadly, mathematics (geometry and algebra) were two of the seven liberal arts in ancient Greece and mediaeval Europe. This historical importance lends credence to the concept that mathematics supplied the mental discipline necessary for the development of other fields.
Mathematics literacy is a critical characteristic of persons who live more productive lives as creative, responsible, and thoughtful citizens. Mathematical literacy is defined as the capacity to do fundamental computations, quantitative reasoning, and spatial thinking. Mathematics is utilised in a wide variety of sectors and disciplines; mathematical ideas and techniques are used to address issues in science, engineering, and economics, for example. (For example, a working knowledge of complex numbers is required to grasp a variety of topics in electronics.) The intricacy of such issues often necessitates the use of somewhat advanced mathematical ideas and techniques in comparison to the aforementioned mathematical literacy. Mathematics is a part of our collective cultural history as humans, and we have a duty to preserve it.
Second, since mathematics serves as a basis for other school topics such as sciences, art, and economics, the question of mathematics' relationship to other school subjects deserves to be addressed. Mathematics is provided individually in certain curricula to supplement the study of other school topics as a 'instrumental subject,' while other curricula offer integrated courses that mix mathematics and other disciplines.
Thirdly, we may choose to consider the amount of hours (percentage of hours) and/or courses allotted to mathematics in each country's curriculum in comparison to other subjects. Along with this quantitative analysis, information about how school mathematics compares to other subjects must be gathered. Although this comparison will not provide us with a complete understanding of why various nations place such a high premium on mathematics, it may stimulate additional debate.
A strong foundation in mathematics and science fosters and refines the abilities to formulate hypotheses, design experiments and controls, analyze data, see patterns, seek evidence, conclusions, and proof, solve problems, and seek absolutes, all while remaining receptive to new knowledge. Mathematics education will not only generate more engineers and scientists, but also more people capable of learning and thinking creatively and critically, regardless of their job sectors. It will be required of the workforce of the future in all professions.

Taking Up Space Scholarship
Never be scared to 'occupy space.'" It's advice that has been repeated time and time again, particularly at times when we feel overwhelmed by everything and everyone and particularly little or lost in the world. However, what does this truly imply? How precisely does one confront it in the real world? And what good will it do us in the long run? Shonda Rhimes, the television and entertainment mogul, has the solutions. Rhimes utilizes the notion of taking up space in all of her endeavors, and it is an integral component of her goal. "Numerous individuals will conclude that you are unable to achieve anything," she once said. Numerous individuals will conclude that this room is not appropriate for you to be there.
Your only responsibility is to determine that each room you enter is one to which you belong and to stay there. That, I believe, is the most important quality—to feel at home in any setting." Each thought expressed in the phrase is potent, but one in particular encapsulates the concept of taking up space very well: The fact that you "decide that any space in which you find yourself is a room in which you belong." As with many things in life, walking into a room and knowing deep down that you belong needs confidence and an awareness of your authority. However, it is something worth pursuing. The amount of space you consume in all facets of your life has an effect on how others see you—but more significantly, it has an effect on how you feel on the inside and how you own your voice. And it begins with how you physically and verbally occupy space. Making a physical posture might have a direct correlation to how we feel on the inside. According to research, occupying space with your body might affect your sense of confidence and authority in real life. You may have heard of the term "power posing." Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist, popularized the "power stance" in a 2012 TED lecture that went viral. She says throughout the discussion, based on her own study, that the way we stand might help us feel more powerful, particularly if we strike a Wonder Woman-esque "high power" position (hands on the hips and feet shoulder-width apart). Cuddy's assertions, however, were contested when other researchers attempted to replicate the study. However, in March of this year, Cuddy published a new research providing more evidence that your posture has an effect on your brain.
The bottom message is that how you physically occupy space might have an effect on how you feel, which is worth noting. You, too, deserve to occupy space with your voice. As author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie puts it in her seminal speech "We Should All Be Feminists," "we educate females to shrink, to make themselves smaller." Although she is speaking abstractly about feminism, that piece of the strong quotation serves as an excellent reminder to break the tendency of suppressing our views, ideas, and thoughts. Taking up space entails developing the conviction that your voice is legitimate.

The fulfilling aspect of the job, along with the possibility of securing employment, has pushed me to pursue a career in doctorate, which I aim to develop in for the remainder of my professional life. Several years ago, a dear family member became very sick, and her caregivers were incremental in their approach to her treatment and recovery. While visiting her in the hospital, I was fascinated by their abilities to advocate for their patients by empathizing with their needs, making them feel at ease, and giving treatment immediately when necessary. I would consider it an honor to provide similar services to other families in need of a strong, intellectual caregiver.

Additionally, I am a team player. If I found myself in a career that requires little or no cooperation, I would be no different than a square peg in a round hole. I really like working in a team setting since, like any other individual, my talents and abilities will never be flawless. Scorenavigator Financial Literacy Scholarship
Financial literacy refers to a person's understanding of financial affairs. For some years, I've been studying financial concerns in order to prepare for life apart from my parents. Financial literacy is like any other kind of education in that it is a lifelong effort, however I am aware of various resources for it. Over the years, I've witnessed and been trained by my parents on financial things. I've also utilized other resources to improve my financial literacy. I've attended credit courses, engaged in the family budget plan, and enrolled in the credit union's Foolproof program, which teaches members how to handle their money wisely.
I am now enrolled in an economics subject as a junior in high school. This lesson has given me a better understanding of the bigger picture of commerce and economics. Understanding supply and demand may help you understand pricing and interest rates. I took a collegiate math program that addressed practical elements of money management as an online student. Debt and interest rates were discussed. I studied about compound interest and interest rates on loans. I feel prepared to manage the loan process after completing this program, first to fund my schooling and then to help me realize my goal of purchasing a house.
It is my objective to avoid being overburdened with debt. The training also taught me how to evaluate loans and their offers. Because the credit union was created on the principle of service, I am certain that the interest rates on loans will be lower than at any other financial institution for a working person. I've personally experienced the advantages of membership. My brother, who is freshly married and lives out of state, was able to get a newer automobile thanks to the credit union's perks. I am certain that these advantages will be available to me when I need them.
My involvement in and implementation of the family budget process has prepared me to live within my means. A budget helps you to view all of your income and expenses in one place. Budgets alter as income or expenditures rise or fall, but they should never be persistently in the negative. The budget's built-in savings account for uncommon occurrences. A budget will enable me to save for the future as well as for unexpected expenses like auto repairs. I discovered that my credit union has a service called My Dashboard, which enables me to enter my income and expenses to control my financial flow.
I am grateful to the credit union for showing concern for my family by proposing I apply for this scholarship, for offering chances to manage my money, and for providing me with the education I need to be financially successful in the future. I am sure that I can explore my credit union's website for any financial issue and find materials to help me comprehend it. This means that I am always up to date on financial problems. My ambition for the future is to avoid being enslaved by debt. The credit union's assistance and the independent efforts I've made have given me a distinct edge in achieving my aim.
Cariloop’s Caregiver Scholarship
Emotions of fear and discomfort may be associated with the subject of death. Death is an aspect of life that cannot be avoided; it is unavoidable. Despite this undeniable truth, American society has influenced the very concept of death, causing such anxiety that the issue has become taboo. As a result, such bereavement creates the concept of sorrow, which may be characterized as the normal response to loss. Grief manifests itself in a variety of ways, based on a variety of elements such as the type of the connection, the number of losses encountered, and whether or not we have really experienced a loss. I want to investigate the concept of grieving in relation to my own personal loss experience in this article. In doing so, I intend to have a deeper understanding of how my experience with loss has affected other aspects of my life.
It's unsurprising that having all of my immediate relatives live in a place halfway across the world is challenging. Due to budgetary constraints, time off from work, and a variety of other factors, it is difficult to just jump on an aircraft and go to another country. Though I am grateful that technology improvements have made contact simpler, allowing me to communicate with and even visit my family from time to time.
With this knowledge, you can see how the significant distance between my family in the United States and my family in Burma creates significant problems and barriers in this circumstance. Given the circumstances, my family did all we could. This includes sending money to my family in Burma on a regular basis to assist with medical fees, hiring a caretaker, and so on. Despite the fact that we were doing all we could to help my family back home, I still wish I could have done more and had the opportunity to connect with my grandpa and care for him while he was in agony. My family was devastated by my grandfather's death. My father, on the other hand, seemed to be the one who was mourning the most.

Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
The concept that intellect is not a fixed attribute but something that can be developed is known as a growth mindset. People with a growth mindset feel that their most fundamental talents may be improved. As a result, there is more motivation, better performance, and more success. In both educational and business environments, a growth mindset has been demonstrated to provide a variety of advantages. I was somewhat lacking this area of personality. That was until I realized that students with a growth mindset are more driven to develop their talents than those with a fixed mentality because they feel their intellect isn't restricted by heredity or situations they can't control. In addition, I became more likely to keep an interest in the subject matter in the face of negative feelings like worry or boredom.
I believe that both success and failure are accompanied with a set of expectations. Money, power, and status are often used to frame them. Development refers to the effort we put in to become better or more successful. This involves learning from our mistakes and honing abilities that will help us achieve greater success in the future. People, on the other hand, often conflate success with progress, despite the fact that the two are very different. For example, just because someone has had a lot of success in their life does not indicate they are progressing. Personal development is about improving oneself and being a better person. Success, on the other hand, is defined by what you have accomplished in your life, whether it be monetary gain, celebrity, or something else.
Bold Speak Your Mind Scholarship
I, a relatively timid and quiet person, can write for hours about how I have developed my ability to speak my mind. I can now see immediate reactions or any conceivable judgement and use it to improve my ideas. I can now confidently compose an article on my perspectives on a subject and so on, but this turn needed a change of pace and mentality.
I started to use what some may refer to as an assertive tone of voice. With an outgoing, confident tone, I now come through loud and clear. While taking my time expressing yourself—don't mumble or attempt to speak too quickly. Quiet individuals are often ignored, not just because of the low loudness of their voices, but also because their manner conveys to others that they aren't worth listening to. People are more inclined to listen to what you have to say if you have a fascinating speaking voice. It's a good thing to be mildly forceful. Being obnoxious or pushy is not acceptable. To avoid making your audience or listener uncomfortable, be aware of the differences and environments.
Everyone has a voice, and it is up to them to utilize it. It is critical for our own and others' development, whether it is to speak up about what matters to them or to encourage others to do likewise. "Are you frightened to speak your views, or are you fearless?" is the question I truly want to ask. Your voice and ideas are important in any case. They have a right to be heard.

Bold Loving Others Scholarship
Life is an extremely difficult journey alone; that is why family and friends are one of the greatest supports, thereby meaning that it is essential to keep them happy as well. However, all too often, our encounters with them may be marred by miscommunication and animosity, fighting and badgering. Those we ought to know and be recognized by become rivals or strangers.
Family is the source of our earliest and greatest emotional memories, and it is also the source of their persistence. Emotional intelligence thrives when other family harmony attempts fail. Active awareness and empathy—the capacity to be aware, accepting, and permanently sensitive to oneself and others—provide guidance on how to react to one another's needs.
With both family and friends, emotional intelligence is very effective because it empowers me to strengthen my relationships with them. When I am aware of my own emotions, I am unable to be swayed by others' emotions, nor can I place responsibility for family and friend problems on everyone else. As intimate relationships are built on emotion, the majority of approaches for enhancing family/friend connections focus on sharing your emotions to people you care about.
Without this emotional familiarity, family/friend interaction becomes difficult, since no one enjoys spending so much time with a stranger. If you want your family members and friends to know and accept one another in a caring manner, you must first be emotionally honest and open with yourself. When you do, it transcends from common sense to incredibly effective strategies for keeping family and friends happy.
Bold Meaning of Life Scholarship
Without the will to get up the following morning and see the next day, life is meaningless. Many individuals live miserable lives because they lack a purpose or meaning to guide them or to meet their needs. To me, purpose is something to strive towards and something to anticipate in life. Without a sense of purpose and meaning in life, there is no reason to live. Recently, when reading the existentialism unit, I realized that without a love for life, one's existence is meaningless and a waste of a soul.
My buddies are the first component of my life that gives me meaning and purpose. Through their dedication and trust, my friends provide meaning and purpose to my existence. Every day brings ups and downs, whether it's with my schoolwork or my social life. Their smiles and laughter brighten my day. Knowing I can always depend on them gives me purpose in life to be able to do the same for them.
My family is another area of my life that provides me with purpose and meaning. My family supports me in my life choices and serves as a model for how to be in the future. My family teaches me how to navigate life since they have already encountered so much more. My purpose or meaning in life is to work hard and succeed in order to raise my own family and support my parents when I grow up, as they have done so much for me.
Although life is brief and sometimes seems like forever, the things that give me reason to press ahead and live another day are my family, my friends, and food. No matter how old one is or how limited the situation, one should constantly attempt to infuse their lives with purpose and meaning.
Bold Selfless Acts Scholarship
Finding the correct mix of independence and selflessness is an age-old dilemma that begs the question, how precisely are they different? Distinguishing these two characteristics is difficult, since they seem to be very similar in many aspects. Despite their superficial similarities, self-reliance is a necessary component of maturity and independence, while self-centeredness is a manifestation of arrogance.
One of the distinguishing traits of self-centeredness is an excessive belief in one's own skills and an unwillingness to accept assistance from others. In the majority of circumstances, self-centeredness is most plainly defined as a failure to heed others' warning. Self-centered individuals do not see the value in seeking counsel from others, and hence fail to see their own inadequacies. Self-centeredness is often followed by imprudent hubris, which nearly always puts one in a precarious, if not deadly, situation.
Meanwhile, a self-sufficient individual recognizes his or her own limitations and recognizes the value of friendship. At times, we just cannot do things alone, and a really self-reliant person recognizes these instances and seeks assistance rather than endangering themselves. Nobody who is genuinely self-sufficient would put themselves in undue peril. Additionally, self-reliant individuals often recognize that their independence is not jeopardized merely because they appreciate having a companion tag along on occasion.
True independence, in my opinion, is the decisive element between self-reliance and selfishness. Self-reliance is often defined as an individualized sense of self-sufficiency. Self-reliance, in its simplest form, is the ability to manage one's daily life without assistance. Additionally, autonomy may refer to a lack of obligation to comply to society. I make a concerted effort to assist others by being self-sufficient, unselfish, and helpful all at the same time.
Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
I believe that the most significant shift that occurred throughout my stay in high school was the emergence and growth of my confidence. I feel as if I have finally burst out of my shell during the previous three years, and I have no intention of returning. While this may seem cliche, it is true for me. I am in awe of this change from a shy child to one that is more outspoken and willing to contribute. It seems to me that it will enhance my future life and pursuits.
My personality started to shift when I enrolled in various courses. The small class size helped me to develop the confidence necessary to express certain thoughts. Conversing with the many teachers and students in my courses provided me with an opportunity to regain confidence in not just myself, but also in what I was saying. I never looked back once I began. I started to make judgements, draw inferences, and become more interested in class than I had ever been. By increasing my participation, I built in myself a confidence that has never wavered.
My change from someone who was frightened to express herself and speak out to someone who is now fearless in expressing an opinion has been remarkable. I am now brave in my choices and observations in class. More significantly, I've discovered a new passion for advocating my position. This area of discussing and contesting subjects is one that I wish to pursue in college as I prepare to study in Science and eventually go Medical school. In the future, I aim to pursue a career in medicine. Confidence, pride, and a willingness to dispute are all necessary characteristics for this success.
Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Patience is the ability for peacefully suffering pain, and in a society where everyone moves quickly, it's difficult to pause for a moment and consider how we're playing this game called life. In this quote from Einstein, he argues unequivocally that the first step toward success in the game of life is to understand how it is intended to be played and then to play it better than anybody else. If we consider any game in the world, we quickly realize that we must first grasp the rules in order to play and win. One cannot just go onto a field and begin kicking a soccer ball in any way; one must first learn the rules, which requires dedication and patience, but once learned, one may be as good as or better than anybody else.
When I initially arrived in the United States of America, I found myself surrounded by an entirely new educational system. To begin, I had difficulty understanding English ,but by the end of the semester, I had improved way more than anticipated. It was a long process, but gradually I began to understand all the examinations and courses I needed to pass in order to graduate and attend college; and each day of school was a chance to get closer to my goal. During my first year of high school, I was a terrified and befuddled kid who had no idea what an essay or a SAT exam were. Additionally, I was unfamiliar with the process of applying for scholarships or financial help. Through patience and perseverance, I took my time to learn everything required to abide in my new environment and I can proudly say that it has taken me this far and will continue to drive me to new heights.
