Education to me means being able to make a proper life for me and my family. I would be a first generation graduate who comes from parents that came to the United States with nothing, so for them to continue to support me in furthering my education, I would want everything to succeed and give back to them for all they sacrificed. Coming to the United States with no resources and a language barrier could be difficult and I want them to understand that I appreciate them and acknowledge their efforts. My life goals are to get a successful job and give back to the people who gave everything to me. By furthering my interest in psychology I believe that as well as gaining a successful and lifelong career I'll also be able to help and lead people who are dealing with the same struggle of the transition into a new country. I'd like to offer counseling to people who struggle with mental health or who just need a simple guide through life.
By promoting a proper education it could allow me to gain knowledge about how to help and guide people as well as providing for my family. My parents have always made sure to remind me about how important family is and for that I appreciate everything my parents have gone through. My dad was left orphaned very young and was supported with the help of his older siblings and working himself by the age of 11. My mom had to leave her whole life and family behind for 20 years, dealing with the loss of my late grandmother and not being able to leave the United States to visit her dying dad. My parents have gone through thick and thin and have done everything in their power to get where they are and provide the life that me and my siblings have. For that I am incredibly grateful and the idea of being able to give back to them through formal education and gaining an established career would mean a lot to me, financially it is still a struggle to fulfill these dreams but through the help of support I believe I could make it to victory in returning all my family has done for me and in compensation of how hard they've already been working, as well as continuing to support me to go to college even with such a tight budget.
