I have changed my mind so many times throughout the years, and I am still hesitant to commit to one specific major at this point in my life. But, I'm ready to explore the world in even more depth, helping me figure out which subjects are fitting for me. For instance, instead of just learning vocabulary in psychology I'm ready to do observational studies and statistical analysis! I'm hopeful that higher education in these subjects, along with guidance will help me find a lifelong interest and a career that suits me.
With my lungs tight and my legs feeling as if they were about to give in, I went even faster, people yelling to catch her. She was too far ahead and going way too fast for me to catch her. I never thought I'd be saying this, but I was grateful for really pushing myself during that painful workout coach had us do. Suddenly my legs went faster, and my arms drove me forward. I whizzed by her with my head dizzy and my eyes losing focus. This was the race I got a personal best by over three minutes!
A year ago, getting that time seemed close to impossible. In case you haven't realized, I run cross country, and this was the moment that changed everything for me. I joined this sport in my junior year, and it taught me even when I'm giving something my all - there is always more to give. I witnessed this as I crossed that finish line.
Cross country is an individual race, you need to find your own motivation and own drive, which can be hard. As a captain this season, I instill in these girls that even when you're giving it your all — there is more to give. This season our team has been getting personal records like crazy. As a team they just needed someone to tell them if you want it, you can always push harder, and I'm glad I was the one who got to do it.
