Bio

I am Sparsha Gowda, a student at NC State University majoring in Computer Science. I studied at Middle College of Forsyth (MCF) high school. In my junior year, I was dual-enrolled at Forsyth Technical Community college where I challenged myself by taking college classes along with my high school classes and worked towards earning my Associate's degree. I made Forsyth Tech's President's List 4 times and the Dean's list once. I graduated high school (GPA: 4.39, class rank: 6) in May 2021 along with my Associate in Science degree (with honors, GPA: 3.951/4). I actively participate in volunteering activities, which I really enjoy. I volunteer at the Lewisville Public Library, where I organize events and activities for children and teens. I served as treasurer of the National Honor Society (NHS) at my school and lead many volunteer projects. The computer field is expanding at an extremely high rate, and so are the threats associated with it. With the increase in computer users, there also comes an increase in the need to protect our data, and computer systems, and networks from dangers like theft, information leak, and damage to software and electronic data. I want to fight against these threats by contributing to the next generation of cybersecurity. I plan to do this by majoring in CS - Cybersecurity concentration and earning a B.S. degree in CS. Since I'm not eligible to apply for FAFSA I am looking for scholarships to help fund my undergraduate education. If selected for a scholarship, I will work hard to make the digital world a safer place.

    Bold Moments No-Essay Scholarship
In my junior year of high school, I made a "Bold decision" where I decided to join an academically competitive high school, and dual-enrolled at a community college. That year, I had just moved to the US. Despite being new to the education system and unfamiliar with everything in general, I chose to challenge myself by taking both high school and college courses together. Now two years later, at 17 years old, I achieved my "Bold result" and had my "Bold moment" when I graduated high school with my Associate's degree with Honors.
