Hello everyone! My name is Sophia. I am a senior biology major and Spelmanite who also loves the art of dance. I enjoy engulfing myself in the studies of life and its various functions and then releasing my stresses through movement. My dreams and aspirations lie in the medical field of science. I am enthralled with the ideas of discovery, problem-solving, and life-saving to improve the quality of life worldwide.
I aspire to complete an MD/PhD program and become a physician-researcher to create effective treatment plans to care for patients' specific needs more effectively and accurately. I plan to accomplish this goal by creating treatment plans with the least amount of adverse side effects possible utilizing advancing medical technology. I desire to be a warrior in the fight to alleviate human suffering related to suboptimal treatment options for ill patients.
Additionally, I plan to found a dance-based program that teaches not only the fundamentals of dance but also essential life skills such as public speaking and financial literacy.
In conjunction with one another, my career goals are to give young people a head start in life, knowing that they may be able to reach their utmost potential by being nurtured from creative-minded pupils to potential presidents and medical residents.
My dream is to gift the world a future where everyone leaves the doctor's office healthier and more informed than when they walked in for happier and fuller lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio!
