My educational goal is to obtain an AA degree in nursing. I went from having my certificate with Basic Life Support to being an Emergency Trauma Technician and finally an Emergency Medical Technician. Working in the Emergency Department for six years I was able to watch first-hand how the nurses were able to assist patients and improve their lives. This inspired me to pursue a career in nursing myself so that I can assist my neighbors in the Yukon-Kuskokwim region.
The privilege of serving the 56 villages of the delta region over the past seven years has motivated me to give back to these wonderful and diverse communities at a higher level, as a registered nurse. Growing up in this environment allows me to understand the Yupik peoples unique needs and concerns, and I hope to give back to the community that raised me. Working hard in school will allow me to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve these goals.

Little Bundle Mother's Day Scholarship
Hello,
I have been a single mother of one. Living in the most rural part of Alaska with low income supporting my sitter, and child with one full time 12 hour shifts, along with doing part time college. Have been in college in the past, but being in school and working full time was not helping me pay off tuitions, and expense costs here in rural Bethel, Alaska.
I started off getting my Emergency Medical Technician-1 Volunteering at the Bethel Fire Department. I enjoy assisting the people who seek medical attention. Having the privilege to serve the community that helped raised me, gave me awareness that I want to give back to the communities that seek help, to help improve, stabilize, and encourage others.
Working in the Emergency Department for six years I was able to watch first-hand how the nurses were able to assist patients and improve their lives. This inspired me to pursue a career in nursing myself so that I can assist my neighbors in the Yukon-Kuskokwim region.
