I have always thrived to be the best me that I can be in to be able to impact other peoples lives as much as possible. I live every day, hoping to be a positive impact, and every day situations there is so much to deal with in today society between peer-pressure, bullying, and every day situations. I want to be that light that brings hope to people daily. I will be attending an HBCU college, as a white female majoring in special education with a goal no matter the gender, special-needs, or race that we are all equal. I will also be on the softball team representing Oakwood University ambassadors. I did have many schools look at me, but when I toured this campus and met the teachers in the program, I knew that’s where God wanted me to be. I knew that was going to be my home for the next four years.I grew in a small town in the mountains of East Tennessee where society would judge all characteristics if they were different. I want to be that person to break those barriers and promotes equality and positivity within our world. Just the other day one of my friends with autism just stated “there’s my friend I want to do a selfie” a lot of the kids laughed and I stated “ let me get my phone so I can have one too”. I want to be that role model for anyone with a disability, special needs, or just different. Anyone with a disability looks at this world so different and we have to be that light for them. I admire all the children who face these adversities. God cretaed of all different and special in our own way. What we do with that is a choice of our own. We choose how we treat others, we choose how we react in situations, and we choose the life that we create for ourselves. I want to be able to teach special needs children and to guide them on a path of success and to be able to be their advocate. I want them to be able to live a normal life within their barriers. We as a society try to shelter and protect but I want to be that leader for them to create their own success. I want them to step out if h their comfort zone and see the world for the beauty it beholds. I love the Tennessee walking horse and I have rode horses since I was a child . I would love to create a program on the side volunteering having my own special needs equine therapy program. It would be a non-profit organization that would be open to all no matter their financial status. That feeling and bond between an animal and child is that of no other. I would love to be able to share that love with other children. There is such a wide open range of things that we can do for the special education departments in our country. There is such a need for those who have the patience to be able to really see these kids for who they are and not just what people think they are. No matter how we are born or what life throws at us the diversity is how our society is these days. So we have to adapt and create our own greatness. That is why I want to persue special education as a career of my dreams. I want to be the light they deserve.

I try exemplify leadership on a daily basis. I live and have been raised on a farm my entire life, so I am very strong and do not have a body like most girls, my age. I have muscles, I am strong, and I am not a size 2. In today’s society, people judge and critique Young women on their physical appearance. I live my life daily to change that. I am a senior this year and I play softball as well so I’ll take it personal when the young freshman come into high school and they are so distraught by others comments. I am the only senior on the team, so I am a role model and it should be for them. I want to embrace them and show them they have a greater purpose than their appearance, and God made us all unique to be special. I try to lead everyone I’m around in a path that they should be leaders not followers no matter their shape or size. Our body types do not dictate who we are as people. In church, at work, on the field, I want to be a role model. We have so much pressure on us as teens with every day issues we don’t need to be consumed with our looks. A person should feel confident even if they’re a size 12. People are always going to make fun of others whenever deep down, it’s themselves that they have true issues with. I believe we all create our own paths And make our own choices. When I’m working on the farm there is a peace and calmness Because it’s me against myself. How much I accomplish is up to me. I do swing Haybale’s in the hayfield, I do clean ten stalls at a time, I do feed 30 horses a day but that’s what makes me who I am. So I do have shoulders like a linebacker, and I do have legs like a fullback. But when someone makes a comment about my muscles or my physique I just smile and say you can come work out with me anytime you want to I hope you have a great day. I want to be that person who walks in any place and can lead others to have self-confidence and positivity in their lives daily. If we don’t have confidence we don’t have success.

Not only in Hollywood California but in my own created Hollywood.

I have grown up just a small town country girl and daughter of a farming family. I was in great preschools and I thought I was very smart. I started school early and I had to study really hard to keep up with the other students maturity level. Then god blessed my family with a little brother when I was 8 after the doctors told my mom she could not conceive anymore children. Then 8 months in to the pregnancy my little brother decided it was time. After he and my mother almost dying they both survived. My mom was physically damaged for months but we knew my brother was always different in someway. He had some physical development issues. He had ambliotropia which a chronic cross eye and his gums never fully developed. But he never let those issue slow him down. As a toddler he began analyzing everything he touched and came across. Some said he was autistic and some teachers even tried to say he ADHD. He would get teased because of his eyes and made fun of because he was always the first in the class to get the answers. He was reading at an 11th grade level in second grade. We finally met this one teacher that said I would like to get him tested. So after years of them telling us he couldn’t survive in public schools and he wanted to be a normal little boy. He made the decision to get his eyes surgically fixed a year ago. We always told him him he was perfect the way he was. He is infatuated with the military and he would like to join someday. He knew he wouldn’t get to do that if he never fixed it. Even at ten years old now I admire him because there was so many times I got called to the Prinicipal office for standing up for him and he never did. He wants people to treat others differently and not repeat actions. So instead if someone make fun of him he tries to help them with their work. He loves to read so anytime he can get in the library he does. He has now grown a love for sports. He tried to hold his personality back when he analyzed a play in football one practice. My family always try to tell him to be his self no matter what. People are mean in society of your not the normal average kid. We are all different and special no matter what circumstance life throws at us.
