    Snap EmpowHER Scholarship
In the future I would like to ideally be a Forensic Scientist working for either the state police or a federal agency that also does research to help advance the field of pharmacy, forensic, or medical. I find I have always enjoyed the investigative side of both forensics and research and it increases my drive to make a change in this world. I am currently dual majored in Biotechnology and Forensic Biology at Ferris State University. And I work for Dr. Eric Nybos research lab gaining valuable skills and knowledge for my future career, and as of now we are working on many projects pertaining to the world of pharmacy and its improvement. As a woman in STEM I want to inspire other women that this is a career path we can succeed in and make an impact. I have been asked many times why I want to pursue such a career and the answer is simple, I want to be important and make a lasting change that positively impacts the world. As the world is constantly changing there are things that will never go away such as disease, and cruel people. I feel with my career I aspire to have that I can help manage and create a safer world for future generations. Snap EmpowHER Scholarship will help me be able to afford the education and experiences needed to help me become the researcher and investigator that this world needs more of. I aspire and dream of positive change for this world and the future generations, and I hope to do that by investigating and researching some of the world's larger problems pertaining to the forensic and medical fields. I want to leave a lasting impression on the STEM field that inspires others to reach for the stars and understand failure is a part of the process, and you won’t be correct all of the time and that mistakes are welcomed and we shouldn’t be afraid of failure. The tools and knowledge I will be gaining throughout my next few years of education will be imperative to the success and advancement of future generations. I believe the effort and knowledge I put in and learn today will be the difference of tomorrow. Being a forensic scientist and a researcher is my career passion, but at the root it is a career that helps me help others and create the positive change the world needs. As I am fully funding school by myself I appreciate the opportunity to help cover some of the costs of my education.

I want to leave a lasting impression on the STEM field that inspires others to reach for the stars and understand failure is a part of the process, and you won’t be correct all of the time and that mistakes are welcomed and we shouldn’t be afraid of failure. With having to live with anxiety it has been hard to not fear mistakes and try to run away from the world when I do make mistakes, but throughout working in the field I have gained confidence in who I am as student and regardless of mistakes I make I will be ok.

I feel with my career I aspire to have that I can help manage and create a safer world for future generations.Donna M. I am pursuing a college degree to become a forensic medical examiner to help people figure out why they lost their friend, loved one, or just someone in their life. I lost my great aunt Suzie at the age of 12. She was my person I talked to her all of the time and she was just the light of my life. After her death, I was in a bad place crying every night just trying to figure out why she left me. But I lost her to cancer and diabetes something I couldn't control and this has geared what I want to do in my life. I want to do research and study cancer and become a forensic medical examiner. I would love to someday open my own research center to hopefully find a cure for cancer. I want to achieve this for not only to have peace with myself but also to help other people and their families to keep the light of their life for longer. My aunt Suzie wasn't the first nor last person in my family or the world to be lost to cancer or a disease we can't yet control or find a cure to. But I want to help be part of the future generations of people who are finding cures and giving people the chance they need to survive and live a healthy life with their loved ones. And I have started dipping my toes into research and have started working in a lab to help me gain critical knowledge and on the job experiences. Not only has my aunt's death caused me to realize what I want to do with my life but it has also shown me that I need to create a support system for myself and take chances because for college and I am funding my own college tuition. Despite the challenges ahead, including the financial burden of financing my own education, I'm determined to pursue my dreams. Every step I take is fueled by the memory of Suzie and the desire to honor her legacy by making a positive impact in the world. Receiving this scholarship would be a tremendous help in furthering my education and realizing my goals. With your support, I can continue to pursue my passion for medical research and work towards a future where diseases like cancer are no longer a source of heartache and loss.

I personally do believe there is a creator and one god that created everything. I believe this for many reasons one being I used to fight with my parents about playing college volleyball, I had played for thirteen years I was burnt out and exhausted. I would pray and pray that some way some how my parents would see this from my point of view and let me quit the sport. My parents didn't, but even though I was committed and signed to play at Alderson Broaddus University two weeks before I was supposed to move in the school shut down due to financial reasons. And even though I had other opportunities to play for the first time in my life my parents let me choose. And I thank God for that opportunity every single day that he came into my life and guided me away from the sport so I can do other amazing things. I have also seen god do wonders in other lives for example some of my closest friends never used to be religious and I had the urge to talk to them about the bible and share what god had done for me in this life and slowly the more I talked over a long period of time I saw my friends become more curious. And one day my friend asked if she could go to church with me and mind you this girl never was religious and it just shocked me because she used to hate people who would share the world of God and just to see how God came into her life and started to change her heart just gave me more reason to believe in him. But also on top of all the ways I have seen god move in my life one thing that I will always lean on is the earth has perfect conditions for us, if gravity was slightly higher or lower we would die, if we were a little closer or further from the sun we would die. And I do not believe that happens on accident. I believe there was evolution but God guided evolution and he created life. And others will say well it's just a miracle, the gravity being perfect is a miracle but the exact distance we are from the sun, and correct gases in the air for us to breath is divine intervention and just working in research I can see how often you have to fail to get something right and if God wasn't around we wouldn't be due to the amount of miracles it would take to sustain life.

But to achieve my goal I need 8-10 years of school and that's hard to come up with the money for because that's multiple degrees and alone I can't come up with the money. I want this college degree so someday I can look back and say I made the right choice in my career path and so I can be able to not only make my aunt proud of me but also to be helping thousands of people. And this scholarship would help propel me in the right direction in my life and for my future, and I hope you pick me as the winner of this scholarship.

I would say my teacher Mrs.Crowell has helped me to be the best version of myself especially academically. I first had Mrs.Crowell in 10th grade which was 2021 so covid was still a huge thing and I had no motivation to work hard or do anything in school. To me, it was just a joke. But Mrs. Crowell made class fun, even online she held me accountable and did not make it easy for anyone to not put the work in. When my school South Lyon High School started allowing students back in I was the only one who showed. Because she had motivated me to not let this sickness take control of my life. And that meant a lot because she was pregnant at the time. She showed up every day and taught and laughed and helped us learn even though we weren't in the best situation. She inspired me to take my first AP class, AP lang, and after I did well in that class I kept taking college classes and didn't have to pay a dime. Mrs. Crowell inspired me to take advantage of all the chances provided to me, and I live by that every single day. I have her again this year my senior year, and South Lyon High School and every day we look back on that year and laugh but also learn from what happened. This year Mrs. Crowell reminds me and teaches all the other students in her class to not only take chances and work hard but to not let something control your life so much that you stop living. That is just something she had to go through with covid the years, she was pregnant and showed up every day because she wanted to teach. She put herself and her child at risk to teach us and I am thankful for her every single day. This past year she was pregnant again and showing up and inspiring us every day even with the threat of COVID just around the corner. But with what I learned from. Mrs. Crowell was one of the most inspiring women I have ever met. She not only inspired me to continue my education but she was the first English teacher ever to tell me I could do better and help me do that. She will always be the women I look back on to thank for my education.

As a freshman in college embarking on my journey in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), the pursuit of understanding the universe has captured my imagination and holds a special place in my academic aspirations. Identifying the mysteries of our cosmos transcends cultures, genders, and boundaries, making it an incredibly compelling mission for someone just starting out in academics. As a young woman in STEM, I'm excited to contribute to this endeavor and share some ideas and concepts that have already started to shape my perspective. Curiosity and Exploration: The driving force behind my interest in the universe's nature is an insatiable curiosity. In my opinion, it's a natural trait shared by all humans, but it's especially prevalent among college freshmen who are just beginning to explore the possibilities of higher education. As a freshman in STEM, I've already encountered countless questions and mysteries that ignite my curiosity and drive me to learn more, particularly about the cosmos. Diverse Perspectives: The need for diverse perspectives in STEM is something I've come to appreciate as I've met students from various backgrounds and experiences in college. These diverse viewpoints can be incredibly valuable in tackling complex scientific problems. My belief as a woman in STEM is the importance of embracing and promoting diversity. I've already had the opportunity to engage in conversations with peers from different backgrounds, and it's clear that our diverse perspectives can lead to fresh ideas and innovative solutions. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: College life has exposed me to the interconnected nature of STEM disciplines. Complex problems often require collaboration among scientists from different fields to solve, and the boundaries between fields are often porous. I'm excited about the prospect of working across disciplinary lines to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the universe. This interdisciplinary approach is something I'm eager to explore during my college years. Education and Outreach: The importance of education and outreach in STEM has become evident as I've started my college education. I've already had the opportunity to attend seminars, workshops, and discussions that emphasize the importance of fostering the next generation of scientists. This is an exciting opportunity for me to contribute to educational outreach efforts, especially those aimed at inspiring young women to explore the mysteries of the universe. College is a time when I can actively engage in such initiatives and make a difference in my community. Technology and Innovation: College is a time of discovery and learning, and one area where I see immense potential for personal growth is technological innovation. As a STEM enthusiast, I am eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology. Technology plays a significant role in advancing our understanding of the universe, and I hope to be at the forefront of technological advancements during my college years.
    McClendon Leadership Award
Leadership is a concept that holds profound significance to me, particularly as a woman in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). It is not just a role or a skill; rather, it embodies a set of values, principles, and a commitment to making a difference. As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field, leadership takes on a unique meaning, shaped by the desire to challenge stereotypes and inspire the next generation of women in STEM. Leadership, to me, represents the ability to inspire and guide others towards a common goal. In STEM, leadership means driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and contributing to the betterment of society. I see it as a responsibility to use my knowledge and skills to lead by example, demonstrating that gender should never be a barrier to achievement. By taking the lead, I hope to encourage more women to pursue STEM careers and break down the barriers that have existed for far too long. Furthermore, leadership is about empowerment. It involves lifting others up, recognizing their potential, and providing growth opportunities. As a woman in STEM, I am keenly aware of the need for female representation in leadership positions. When women lead, they bring unique perspectives, empathy, and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, which can lead to more equitable outcomes in research and industry. By embracing leadership, I aim to be a role model and mentor to aspiring women in STEM, helping them overcome challenges and excel in their chosen fields. Leadership in STEM is also about driving change and progress. The world is facing complex challenges, from climate change to healthcare disparities, and STEM professionals must step up to find solutions. As a woman, I believe that my leadership style can offer a fresh approach to problem-solving, emphasizing collaboration and empathy, which are essential in addressing these critical issues. Moreover, leadership entails continuous learning and adaptability. STEM is an ever-evolving field, and effective leaders must be open to new ideas, embrace change, and lead their teams through uncharted territories. Being a woman in STEM has taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability, as I've had to navigate a field where I may be outnumbered but am no less capable. This resilience has become a defining aspect of my leadership philosophy, as I aim to inspire others to persevere in the face of adversity. In conclusion, leadership is vital to me as a woman in STEM because it embodies the principles of empowerment, innovation, change, and adaptability. I see it as a means to challenge the status quo, break down gender barriers, and inspire the next generation of women in STEM. Through leadership, I hope to make a positive impact in my field, fostering a more inclusive and diverse STEM community that can address the world's most pressing challenges. Leadership, to me, is not just a role; it is a commitment to making a difference, both for myself and for the advancement of women in STEM.
    Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Mental health has always been an issue for me and trying to keep a positive mind set. An example of this is when I was playing my 17s club volleyball year and I decided to play for the old Michigan State coach Chuck Erbe. He mentally and verbally abused us day in and day out of practice and after awhile my beliefs changed. I didn't and wouldn't believe god would let me and let alone my teammates go through this, it affected every relationship I had in and out of volleyball. It made me a terrible person I was always tired and mentally drained and it started to absorb my life. After being done with my season I did some serious mental health work shopping to get me back on my feet and back to where I needed to be again. For months I would have nightmares of this man verbally abusing me and my teammates and now I realize that I am stronger for going through this. But I needed to work on myself. I did not deserve what happened to me and my teammates didn't deserve it either but we are stronger people now. We now how to stand up for ourselves, and respect ourselves. Mental health and my mental state has changed over the years and with that my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations have changed. While I have not worked for a mental health organization I have done my research and have dug deep in exploring mental health and how my words and actions can affect other people. I have helped so many people by just listening when nobody else would, for example my high school teammates I listen to their worries and issues and try to help them come to a positive solution whether that be with themselves or with our coach. My experiences with mental health changed the way I talked to people and understood the world for a long time. And it hurts to realize there are people out there that want to take your light away. But now after this experience, I take every day one step at a time building back the mental wellness I once had. I work out, eat health, manifest positive thoughts, and overall keep tabs on myself and my progress, And how I am doing. I respect my own mental health and others as well and that's how it should be.

I know I should have reached out sooner. Going through this experience has brought me to the reality that people are not going to be nice and that they will fight tooth and nail even if it negatively affects you. I realized I need to be the one who shows up for me and that has helped me in my relationships by knowing when I should step back from people, and my career asperations knowing medical school is tooth and nail and it is you agaisnt the world.

When I was younger me and my brother used to play super smash bros. And we would play for hours and always get stuck on the boss levels and I would get so mad at my little brother because he kept dying. After all, he did not know the buttons. I remember yelling for my dad (who is a certified Super Smash Bros player his words, not mine) because we would be on our fourth or fifth attempt and we would just keep failing. And of course, as any dad would do he had to flex his awesome gaming skills on his ten-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. And then after he beat the boss level he would just sit there and play for us and when we would ask for the game back he would say "No you are just going to lose." And even though it sounds like my dad was being a total butthead those are some of my fondest memories. As I go through college I sit back and break out my Nintendo Switch and still, I call my dad to complain that I can not beat the boss level he just laughs at me and says I am old enough to do it myself now. Which is a total lie on his part.

I feel my generation is going to be left picking up the pieces of the polluting generations before us. I find it hard to believe we vote people into government who do not care about these issues because they will not be around long enough to see the consequences of their actions. It frustrates me that we (the United States) have so many problems that are being overlooked by these older generations, and when younger generations run for government they do address these issues but people are not voting. Why aren't we voting? Mostly because of a lack of education on the matter but that comes down to our public education system (also under the control of older generations) that does not teach us how to register to vote, we are not taught how to look at a candidate and say ok this is their party these are their opinions do I like them or not? And it just feels like my generation (Gen Z) is going to finally get into office when we are 75 and then the world is going to keep going through this vicious cycle. I hope one day we can get people from every generation in government so we can ger a wide array of opinions that would benefit the future of this earth.

The character I resonate most with is Dwight. Dwight is witty, smart and just overall hilarious. I find myself to be somewhat of a joker, but also deep down we see even though Jim, Pam, and everyone else are his work colleagues and he does care. And that is how I also feel I display my affection towards friends. I am not very direct, but I do care and I will be there when my friends need me the most. And even though I don't dress in terrible fashion like fashion does I do typically wear the same types of clothes each day. I feel "The Office" has shaped my sense of humor by making everything funny. And people need to laugh, we need to appreciate even the dumb jokes and not take anything for granted. But in my workplace, I have created relationships and kept the work light-hearted and fun. But another reason I related to Dwight is I need to get work done and I get very upset if things are not done on time. But unlike Dwight, I would think the jello stapler was funny and I would just say thanks for lunch! And always remember, IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE JIM!

I would have everyone read the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco. This series introduces you to forensic science with the lead character being Audrey Rose. She is her uncle's apprentice for his lab studies and this leads them to fun new cases all around the world. Not only that but there is also some romance between Audrey Rose and her Uncle's other apprentice Thomas Cresswell. The book series is filled with twists and turns and some serious cliffhangers. But this book also has taught me some serious lessons for me for example working hard to get what you want is a must. This book teaches that by showing Audrey Rose a woman in the late 1800's trying to aspire in the forensic field, and that is not an easy task. The book shows her ups and downs throughout trying to become the forensic medical examiner she wants to become. I enjoyed this series and think many others will as well because it is very tasteful not have too much romance, not too gruesome from the forensic side of things. The book has a very balanced plot and is intriguing even to those who don't like to read. Overall I would say this book is a great read for all ages, and even for people who don't like crime or romance, I believe you would still really enjoy this book. Not only this book but all Kerri Maniscalco books are great and everyone should really check her out.

As an LQBTQ+ member that hasn't truthfully come out to everyone because of the fear of rejection and judgment, I would get I want to feel safe and not like I would get hate. And this is the situation for many people these days, we don't want to speak our minds, or be who we truly want to be because of the situation we find ourselves around. Which is hate. Hate has always been around and will never entirely go away, but we can't try and encourage others to have less hate in their hearts and see each other for who we truly are without fear of judgment. I pray to whoever is up there that they will guide us into the future without hate and that they will show us the best way. I want to be my true and honest self and I am tired of hearing how someone will hate another person just because of their race, culture, sexual orientation, or what they want to do. It's unfair in 2022 as a white pansexual woman I am afraid, I am afraid of the people around me and what they will do, but I am also afraid of what my government will do. I should not have to censor myself because someone does not like the way I dress, the way I act, or the way I speak or act. It is nobody else's business but my own. And going into college out of state and alone next year in West Virginia I am afraid, I am afraid of the hateful acts people will try to commit against me if I come out to people in college. I believe this scholarship would not online help me put myself through college but also finally have the courage to come out to my family and the remainder of my friends who don't know already. I hope someday the world can become a better place so that when I have kids and raise them I don't have to have them worrying about the issues I have to worry about now. I want to see a change within people, I want to see less hate in everyone's heart.

I will be pursuing Biology to one day become a forensic medical examiner. I believe science is the main pillar of our society, it's what keeps us healthy, monitors our health, cures illness, and alleviates aches and pains. And the ability to improve our life is provided to us by these sciences biology, physiology, kinesiology and rehabilitation sciences, chemistry, pharmacology and drug development microbiology, pathology, epidemiology, etc. Genetics, biomedical engineering and psychology, public health. And because I believe science is a main pillar of society I want to be a part of it. I want to help find cures to cancer and cures to rare diseases, but I can't do it alone I need other people in the workplace with me to help find these cures. And that is why diversity is important to not only me and my workplace but where ever. Multiple great minds working together for the greater good rather than judging each on gender, skin color, sexual orientation would make a much better society for all. I strongly believe we would still be living like cave people without science and diversity. And I want to be a part of the future that creates a greater ability to prevent and cure diseases with many other great minds without a care in the world if my co-workers are white, black, gay, straight, women or men. And becoming a forensic medical examiner I could help predict and prevent disease but also be able to do my true passion of studying ovarian cancer and helping women find a cure. I have lost so many women in my life due to ovarian cancer and I have a high percentage of getting cancer myself. And I want to be part of the group of people who helps prevent this cancer and extend the lives of so many. But this degree and the things I would need to become a forensic medical examiner cost a lot of money and I have to fund all of my college expenses all by myself. And with this scholarship, I would be able to start my journey and have the ability to make this world a better place not only with my mind but many others and hopefully someday I will be able to give back to the student trying to get a degree in STEM as you guys are now. I appreciate this chance to help fund my future.

I would say my teacher Mrs.Crowell has helped me to be the best version of myself especially academically. I first had Mrs.Crowell in 10th grade which was 2021 so covid was still a huge thing and I had no motivation to work hard or do anything in school. To me it was just a joke. And she showed up every day and taught and laughed and helped us learn even though we weren't in the best situation. She inspired me to take my first AP class, AP lang, and after I did well in that class I kept taking college classes and didn't have to pay a dime. Mrs. Crowell inspired me to take advantage of all chances provided to me, and I live by that every single day. I have her again this year my senior year, and South Lyon High School and everyday we look back on that year and laugh but also learn from what happened. This year Mrs. Crowell reminds me and teaches all the other student's in her class to not only take chances and work hard but to not let something control you life so much that you stop living. And that is just something she had to go through will covid years, she was pregnant and showed up every day because she wanted to teach. She put herself and her child at risk to teach us and I am thankful for her every single day. This year she is pregnant again and showing up and inspiring us each and every day even with the threat of covid just around the corner. But with what I learned from Mrs.Crowell I am applying right now I am taking this chance to write to you who ever is reading this. And asking will you help me? I have to fund my bachelors degree in biology alone and I have to fund medical school alone. And I am taking this chance and reaching out because I need to take chances.

I am pursing a college degree to become a forensic medical examiner to help people figure out why they lost their friend, loved one, or just someone in their life. I lost my great aunt Suzie at the age of 12. She was my person I talked to her all of the time and she was just the light of my life. After her death I was in a bad place crying every night just trying to figure out why she left me. But I lost her to cancer and diabetes something I couldn't control and this has geared what I want to do in my life. I want to do research and study cancer and become a forensic medical examiner. I would love to some day open my own research center to hopefully find a cure to cancer. I want to achieve this for not online to have peace with myself but also to help other people and their family to keep the light of their life for longer. My aunt Suzie wasn't the first nor last person in my family or the world to be lost to cancer or a disease we can't yet control or find a cure too. But I want to help be part of the future generations of people who are finding cures and giving people the chance they need to survive and live a health life with their loved ones. Not only has my aunts death caused me to realize what I want to do with my life but it has also showed me that I need to create a support system for myself and take chances because I am leaving and going out of state for college and I am funding my own college tuition. And this scholarship would really help propel me in the right direction in my life and for my future, and I hope you pick me for the winner of this scholarship.

    Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Mental health has always been an issue for me and trying to keep a positive mind set. An example of this is when I was playing my 17s club volleyball year and I decided to play for the old Michigan State coach Chuck Erbe. He mentally and verbally abused us day in and day out of practice and after awhile my beliefs changed. I didn't and wouldn't believe god would let me and let alone my teammates go through this, it affected every relationship I had in and out of volleyball. It made me a terrible person I was always tired and mentally drained and it started to absorb my life. It was hard to go through every day thinking that even if there was something or someone out there that they would let us as a team go through thus. Before this I wanted to be a lawyer but after workshopping with myself I have realized I want to be a forensic medical examiner and I am so happy to be pursing such a career. But now after this experience I take every day one step at a time building back the mental wellness I once had. I work out, eat health, manifest positive thoughts, and overall keep tabs on myself and my progress, And how I am doing. I respect my own mental health and others as well and that's how it should be. Because sadly just over one thing you can change someone day or life in a negative way and we need to be aware of such thing. I am tired of being mentally drained in my life!
Affordable College Prep's First Time Winners Scholarship
You don't win a lot. You can apply to thousands of scholarships and only win once. It is not a 100% chance of a win, and that's hard I have written hundreds of essays and I have yet to win a penny. And I am honestly upset with it but I write and write to just have a slim chance at being able to truly afford college. I need a bachelors degree in biology, and I need to go to medical school to get my dream job. And it's going to be hard and it's probably gonna suck sometimes but I would love the idea even of just affording it. I have also learned you need to be personably, someone needs to relate to you or your struggle to basically give you money to hopefully do well in this world. But the main part is you just have to put the effort in. It's hard. It is time consuming. And most of all it is not fun. But it gives you the chance to not have to be in debt as long. And that's what I want, I don't want to live in debt, I want to be able to afford a vacation with my family, I don't want to have to make major budge cuts to afford Christmas presents for my kids because I have student loan debt still. Scholarships provide you the chance to be financially free. And that's what I want, I want to work hard earn money but also I still want to be able to live life. And I mean truly live I don't want to be stuck in a constant 9-5 drag my whole life. I want to retire early and live. But that include you. The reader I have learned a lot about scholarships and how to lose. And hope you are able to help me make my life better so I can be financially free. So hopefully some day I can give this chance to another group of kids just trying to make it in this world. The world is full of debt, sadness, and poverty and I don't want to end up like that. But I also want to help others some day not end up like that either. It is not easy and I appreciate the time, effort and money it takes to put this all together and hopefully I can become a first time winner.

College is so exciting to me because I get to play a college sport and I get to make friends for life. To me clean living means eating healthy and making good choices for myself. And I choose to do this to preform the best in life and in school. Healthy eating has never been easy for me or for my family, I enjoy my sweets to much and I am not a fan of the leafy greens or any other veggies. But recently I have started my "healthy life era" and I have started to make healthier eating choices. But I believe eating healthy is important because It protects you against many chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Eating heathy also makes sure you maintain healthy skin, heathy teeth, and healthy eyes. Eating healthy does so many great things not only adults but also for children. Some other examples of what eating healthy does for you are may help you live longer always a plus, supports muscles, boosts immunity no more colds a flu! Strengthens bones, supports healthy pregnancies and breastfeeding which helps mom and baby. Helps the digestive system function, and also helps achieve and maintain a healthy weight which keeps you body happy and healthy. But not only when I eating healthy do I notice the physical things it is doing for me I also notice what eating healthy does for my mental health. When you stick to a diet of healthy food, you're setting yourself up for fewer mood fluctuations and personally being less moody helps everyone around me, also overall happier outlook and an improved ability to focus so eating healthy can also help you in school to focus and perform better on test day! And eating healthy has improved my anxiety and depression. But also as a high level athlete who is committed to play in college I need to be fueling my body with all the right things to keep me top level. And eating healthy has improved my speed on the court, but also has given me energy to play longer and work harder. But as a student athlete for high school and soon to be college I need to be able to afford healthy options for myself, and I think thats why most of our country has a hard time eating heathy foods now. I incorporate clean living every day by not only eating healthy but also making good choices. I personally have to fund my own college and that means also getting my own food, I would love to continue this journey I am on with the help of this scholarship. The money I would be getting would go towards healthy grocery's and my meal plan for college. I hope you pick me for this scholarship so I can continue to work on this journey.

I will be pursing Biology to one day become a forensic medical examiner. I believe science is a main pillar for our society, it's what keeps us healthy, monitors our health, cures illness, alleviates aches and pains. And because I believe science is a main pillar of society I want to be a part of it. I want to help find cures to cancer and cures to rare diseases, but I can't do it alone I need other people in the work place with me to help find these cures. And that is why diversity is important to not only me and my work place but where ever. Multiple great minds workin together for the greater good rather than judging each on gender, skin color, sexual orientation would make a much better society for all. And I want to be a part of the future that creates greater ability to prevent and cure diseases with many other great minds without a care in the world if my co workers are white, black, gay, straight, women or men. And becoming a forensic medical examiner I could help predict and prevent disease but also be able to do my true passion of studying ovarian cancer and help women find a cure. I have lost so many women in my life due to ovarian cancer and I have a high percent of getting the cancer myself. And I want to be part of the group of people who helps prevent this cancer and extend the lives of so many. But this degree and the things I would need to become a forensic medical examiner cost a lot of money and I have to fund all of my college expenses all by myself. And with this scholarship I would be able to start my journey and have the ability to make this world a better place not only with my mind but many others and hopefully some day I will be able to give back to the student trying to get a degree in STEM as you guys are now. I appreciate this chance to help fund my future.
Dr. William and Jo Sherwood Family Scholarship
And this scholarship would really help propel me in the right direction in my life and for my future, and I hope you pick me for the winner of this scholarship.
    Living Well Scholarship
To me clean living means eating healthy and making good choices for myself.

I want to see a change within people, I want to see less hate in everyones heart. We shouldn't hate on someone of a different race, culture, sexual orientation, or for what they want to do. As an LQBTQ+ member that hasn't truthfully come out to everyone because of the fear of rejection and judgement I would get I want to feel safe and not like I would get hate. And this is the situation for many people these days, we don't want to speak our mind, or be who we truly want to be because of the situation we find ourselves around. Which is hate. Hate has always been around and will never entirely go away, but we cant try and encourage others to have less hate in their hearts and see each other for who we truly are without fear of judgement. I pray to whoever is up there that they will guide us into the future without hate and that they will show us the best way. I want to be my true and honest self and I am tired of hearing how someone will hate another person just because of their race, culture, sexual orientation, or for what they want to do. It's unfair in 2022 as a white pansexual women I am afraid, I am afraid of the people around me and what they will do, but I am also afraid of what my government will do. I should not have to censor myself because someone does not like the way I dress, the way I act, the way I speak or act. I want to see a change within people, I want to see less hate in everyones heart.
    Seeley Swan Pharmacy STEM Scholarship
I will be pursing Biology to one day become a forensic medical examiner. I believe science is a main pillar for our society, it's what keeps us healthy, monitors our health, cures illness, alleviates aches and pains. And the ability to improve our life is provided to us by these sciences biology, physiology, kinesiology and rehabilitation sciences, chemistry, pharmacology and drug development microbiology, pathology, epidemiology, etc. Genetics, biomedical engineering and psychology, public health. But not only does science do great things for us science does amazing things for the world around us. From agricultural science and engineering, plant breeding and genetics ,seed technology and plant health soil science and irrigation crop protection and weed science, biodiversity and conservation, animal science , and environmental science all of these different sciences make/create an affordable food supply for us and the animals around us. Also science is important because in this ever changing world we have to worry about catastrophic events, like pandemic and natural disaster and science helps us monitor and predict when those events will come so we can be prepared. Science also helps uncover the past so we are able to predict the future of human life, disease, and other things and we are able to do that with anthropology, paleontology, and forensics. Science also is important to society because it helps us make informed choices, wether that comes down to a hostage situation and we have to analyze the suspects behavior to make the best choice, or in a terrorist situation when we have to use things like cyber security to help shut it down, or someone has stage four cancer and we are trying to decide what medication or trial to put them on for the best chance of living. All of this is provided to us by these sciences computer science and cybersecurity, data science and data analytics, biomedical and health informatics, AI and machine learning, software development. Science also helps us understand human and animal behavior like I brought up before a hostage situation and we have to analyze the suspects behavior to make the best choice, or maybe to help out people with a mental illness, all of this is provided to us by these sciences neuroscience, animal behavior, counseling and clinical psychology and social sciences. Overall science has become an important part of society helping us maintain the ability to live a healthy life, keep our planet healthy and provide food for us and animals, also to monitor and predict catastrophic events, like pandemic and natural disaster. To help uncover the past and predict the future of human life, to help us make informed choices, but also to understand human and animal behavior. Without science I strongly believe we would still be living like cave people and thats why science is the most important pillar to society. And I want to be a part of that future and becoming a forensic medical examiner I could help predict and prevent disease but also be able to do my true passion of studying ovarian cancer and help women find a cure. And with this scholarship I would be able to start my journey.
Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
I respect my own mental health and others as well and that's how it should be.

    Ms. Susy’s Disney Character Scholarship
My favorite Disney character would have to be Cinderella, not only for her blue sparkly dress, or her cute mouse friends, but for her genuine story. I loved the story of Cinderella because from a young age she taught me kindness towards all no matter what they have done to me, forgiving others for doing wrong no matter how much I would like to take revenge or hold a grudge, and never letting bad things ruin your heart no matter how many problems I face in my life to always remain a good person. With these lessons I was able to tackle many things that have come up in my life with sports, school, and just relationships in general. She also showed me how I shouldn't be treated and even when I am being treated bad how to deal with it. And she showed me how if you work hard and have a little faith you can do anything. Cinderella also proved to me that you don't have to be the prettiest girl, or wear makeup all the time to find love in this world because the prince was still in love with her when he got to her house and she was in ragged maid clothes. But also like I said Cinderella has an amazing looking dress that is the most amazing blue and this has also made her my favorite Disney character because as much as she did teach me she also has given me inspiration for my prom dress. And again her little mouse friends also were just too cute not to love ( but I hate mice in real life). I have watched Cinderella and the spin off movies over and over and I believe she is still a great role model to children past, present, and future.

Apple watches have really inspired me and shown me how much technology can help track medical issues. I recently got an apple watch and while going through the features I saw that you were able to run a blood oxygen test but also and EKG. And this is honestly amazing to me because now people can have medical tests on them at all times and it's not perfect but its getting there. And I believe by the year 2030 apple watches will be saving lives making the world a better place.
