    Brattican Scholarship
I went to school for cosmetology it didn't really work out I got licensed but I have a passion for skincare and an interested in aesthetics/nursing . I love doing things with my hands like playing music and traditional college doesn't fit me but I like building lifelong skills 🩷my parents weren't traditional one went to nursing school and the other became a high law enforcement officer . I like working and feel the trades are a good fit for me who wants flexible hours and potential business owner .I honestly love the idea of making people feel beautiful and being confident in my abilities. I love that the trades are at your own pace and give you transferrable skills . I'm drawn to trades because often times it's less school but you change so much in that I've always been fascinated by the world of trades. Growing up, I watched in awe as skilled craftsmen brought their projects to life with precision and care like airplanes . As I got older, my interest only deepened. I began to realize that trades offer a unique combination of creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on work that I find incredibly appealing. I did cosmetology in highschool and after I always thought that would be my career but now I'm leaning more towards esthetics and nursing I think what draws me to trades is the sense of tangible accomplishment. When I work with my hands, I can see the direct result of my labor, whether it's a beautifully crafted hairstyle or a perfectly installed electrical system. There's a sense of pride and satisfaction that comes from knowing I created something with my own two hands. I also appreciate the variety that trades offer. Every project is different, with its own set of challenges and requirements. I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of trades, figuring out creative solutions to complex problems. Plus, I'm always learning new skills and techniques, which keeps my work engaging and exciting. Another aspect that draws me to trades is the sense of community. Tradespeople often work together as a team, relying on each other's expertise to get the job done. I enjoy the camaraderie and collaboration that comes with working in trades. Lastly, I appreciate the stability and security that trades offer. In an ever-changing job market, trades provide a sense of dependability and consistency. People will always need skilled craftsmen to build, repair, and maintain their homes and communities. Overall, it's the combination of creativity, problem-solving, hands-on work, community, and stability that draws me to trades. I feel incredibly fortunate to be pursuing a career in this field, and I look forward to the many opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
    Clarence Penny Jr Memorial Scholarship
I really want to use my degree to make others feel better about themselves.ive been really struggling to get through the program but I want to impact my community and other community's I might come into contact with . I want to challenge the racial divide between African American hair and cosmetology . I want everyone to feel special and worth something . I want to donate to different organizations and support locks of love and so forth . I don't know of all ideas of how I'm going to leave an impact but I definitely want to leave one whether that be with senior citizens ,people in domestic violence situations and more . I want cosmetologist to feel safe in a salon and be able to grow and develop alongside each other instead of the cutthroat current way of cosmetology . I want to bring forth change in this industry of how education is handled and to help everyone have a chance to succeed .
    Bold Legacy Scholarship
I want my legacy to be the one who never gave up .
    Bold Best Skills Scholarship
My best skill is perseverance even though I've been going through lots of struggles I've managed to persevere through the first part of cosmetology school . I'm not very confident in anything to do witt cosmetology but am very confident in my musical abilities and use this as my guide to persevere a little further in school .I also really like to bake .
    Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
I feel like the new ways of technology to be able to reach classes and I hope online classes grow into other industries because I feel when I was made to do school online I really grew in my cosemtology class and had that theory knowledge to bring with me to cosmetology school and I think it's impacted my mental and physical health and will hopefully make more people able to get degrees who can't handle that classroom type of setting
Bold Hope for the Future Scholarship
Women in history have showed me that it's important to have hope in the future .it all started out where they couldn't really do anything and we're supposed to be homemakers but they fought for it little by little . eventually they got education and even though it definitely wasn't perfect .there was very limited majors and they weren't treated the same as men were in the workplace they still fought for more .Rosa Parks,Susan B Anthony ,I love Lucy ads and more all showed that there was more to a women . although women weren't always able to be educated except in the summers they still rose and graduated at a higher rate than the men around them . Eventuly Female journalist and Actors were known around the globe . As Americans began enjoying themselves more the more freedom women and their families had .While the world suffers from covid, afghan, and more I have hope because of the women in history and for people to change history .we have doctor's who are doing everything they can ,students who are struggling but willing to fight and little kids who are being hero's by wearing a mask in school . I have hope we can get through anything because I have hope someone will be brave enough to make a difference and I know through these women in history and the people around me that were willing to make a difference .
    Pro-Life Advocates Scholarship
I feel like every human being has a purpose from the time of conception through death .I think if they didn't there wouldn't be any value in finding out what it really is . I was born and adopted from one of my parents foster kids .I grew up a mormon . one thing that really showed me a part of my purpose was my dog and my connection to her . have you ever had that one person and instantly connected ? Think of how many connections we've missed by babies who weren't able to be in our classes growing up and there are so many resources out there to make sure they have a full filling life
    Susy Ruiz Superhero Scholarship
I think we've all had a million teachers in a lifetime ,but there's only a very few who we as students feel benefit us . for me the one who benefited me is special . I had decided to take cosmetology in high school as a vocational class and whole it was a thought of what I wanted to do then ,it became the plan . I had a very small interest in hair and makeup and over time it grew .It grew because I had a teacher who was willing to help . A teacher who knew every kids name .A Teacher who desired to make an impact .Not once did she say that we ever had to pursue higher education but she gave us ideas of what we could do with a study in cosmetology such as tattoo artist ,makeup designers ,barbers ,etc . She taught us of the importance to be kind. When others thought I couldn't she knew I could . When one made mistakes she turned the mistakes into learning lessons . For someone who didn't like school she made a class of people who didn't want to miss school for this one particular class .She taught me the importance of hard work and the desire of wanting to learn can lead to the actual part of learning . I learned it doesn't matter where you go for education or if you do it only matters the effort you put in to what you want to do . I learned that cosmetology was something I enjoy doing and learning about . I don't know if this teacher will ever know how much she impacted my life but she did . I learned skills for the work force such as communication and more . She encouraged us with inspirational sayings from well known cosmetologist who many said wouldn't ever make it even at times themselves . She taught us how to clean and how to be better people. She made us feel cherished and encouraged us to do the right thing because we have a whole life ahead of us ,because of her I feel a little clearer of the life I desire ahead of me and that includes getting a higher degree in cosmetology . I am so thankful that I got the opportunity to have a teacher who helped and encouraged me to get a higher degree when many people don't have that . Some of my teachers I don't remember that well but my cosmetology teacher I will always remember .
    Traveling Artist Scholarship
I am thinking if traveling abroad in the future as an artist whole now I apply to go to cosmetology school . I would like to see different cultures of the way they do their hair and makeup .I would also like to learn more spanish to help with future employment opportunities . I've always enjoyed traveling the us and there's different beauty's everywhere you go .
Angelica Song Rejection is Redirection Scholarship
Before we can begin to understand what rejection is we have to understand what to be accepted is .It is the process by which we gain something whether it be a new job promotion, how our peers see us and more. With 7 Billion People In the world we have come to face that not everyone will be accepted because for one to be accepted many have to be rejected.Rejection is not what anyone wants, but there has been times in my life where Rejection has led me to bigger and better things. For Example Rejection has mainly happened to me in tryouts and auditions. The first thing I ever tried out for was volleyball.I was taken off the roster because I had fewer balls across the net than the other girls and although I never tried out for volleyball since than I learned a lot of techniques and skills I wouldn't of learned otherwise .I tried out for dance a year later for fun and didn't make the team, but decided to take a few jazz and ballet classes .Although I didn't try out for dance after that I auditioned for Addams Family The Musical ,and that time surprise I still ended up rejected. From there I continued dance lessons, choir class, and more and by the time Footloose Auditions Came I was prepared .I was a little nervous but I was excited and Finally I got into Footloose The Musical as an ensemble member ! The Next year I choose not to do Matilda due to conflicts in scheduling, but towards the end of the year I was asked to join the musical theatre class. So while I could have ended up as a volleyball player ,or a dancer these rejections led me to joining musical theatre and while I am sure I would of loved to be on the volleyball and/or dance team ;I would of never Known my love of theatre.
