Greetings! Allow me to introduce myself: I am Shamya Bizzell, a vibrant and ambitious individual currently embarking on the exciting journey of college life as a sophomore at Fayetteville State University. At the age of 19, I am filled with a fervent passion for education, which has led me to pursue a major in Education with a specialization in Birth-Kindergarten Non-teaching, complemented by a minor in entrepreneurship. By immersing myself in this field, I am striving to transform my heartfelt dream into a reality, namely, owning and operating my very own daycare franchise. I have always had a passion for caring for children of all ages. I believe that children are the purest form of energy and they need and deserve to be protected and taught right. Starting learning for kids as early as the womb is crucial to their mental development and how they learn.
This endeavor of mine holds great significance, as I aspire to provide invaluable opportunities and support to the children residing in low-income and impoverished neighborhoods. These young souls, who are often deprived of adequate educational resources, deserve a nurturing and stimulating environment in which they can thrive. Through my daycare franchise, I aim to bridge the educational gap and empower these children with the tools necessary to unlock their full potential.
However, the path to achieving this noble goal is not without its challenges. Financial constraints have cast a shadow of uncertainty, making it imperative for me to seek external assistance. My school bill currently amounts to approximately $2,000, a considerable sum that poses a significant burden. Despite my unwavering commitment to applying for scholarships, the opportunities that come my way are few and far between. Consequently, I find myself heavily reliant on my mother, who is my sole pillar of support. Unfortunately, her limited financial means make it arduous for her to single-handedly shoulder the weight of my educational expenses.
Thus, the significance of this scholarship cannot be overstated. Its impact would be nothing short of monumental, alleviating the mounting financial pressure and allowing me to continue pursuing my studies with unwavering dedication. By granting me this invaluable opportunity, you would not only be investing in my future but also uplifting the spirits of my hardworking mother, sparing her from additional stress and enabling her to focus on her own well-being.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly believe that this scholarship would be a life-changing opportunity, not only for me but also for the children whose lives I aspire to touch. With your support, I can forge a path toward a brighter future, fostering positive change within the realm of education and empowering those who need it the most.

To me attending an HBCU is a great opportunity to get further in tune with my culture without feeling singled out. On the campus, there are many ways to network and make bridges for yourself. Just by getting out there and getting known you are opening yourself up to more opportunities to do better in your life while here and even after. You never know who you may run into. I love my HBCU, my advisor is always helpful and available. The professors that I have had for the most part are supportive and there for you, the events on campus are a great way to get noticed, there are groups, associations, and clubs that match any and everybody's interests. If you want to start your own club the process to do so is not that complicated and they support you through it. The majority of staff on campus are here to lift us up and encourage us to do our best and also to guide and mentor us through our mistakes.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly believe that this scholarship would be a life-changing opportunity, not only for me but also for the children whose lives I aspire to touch.
