I am most passionate about teaching and inspiring young minds and creating an impact on children's life. Since a young age I wanted to be a teacher and for a while I kept jumping between Special Ed Teacher and a k-5 teacher. And after a long time I decided to major in both. I have spent most of my life raising my younger siblings so I know what it's like and what needs to be done to care for children. And at enemy family events or school events when it involved children or there were children I would end up watching them and caring for them. I always loved caring for kids. It was one of the few stable things I had in my life to hold on to. I can also thank this little girl in special Ed who made an impact on my life and helped me see what I wish to do in the future. She was an angel and the sweetest child I have ever met and she made a big impact on my life. I met her in elementary school and miss her so much. I ended up even learning ASL to communicate with them. I did end up connecting with a lot of these kids. I even connected with some of the children in the Special Ed class at my high school. I feel I can help make a big difference in these kids' lives. Seeing as some of them may only have one parent or none or even need a mentor or someone to look up to and I want to be that person. The main problem is finance. I live with my grandma and we don't make a lot of money. My dad is no help seeing as he favors my siblings and constantly pays for them but wont give me a single penny. So currently me and my grandma have to figure out how to afford both braces for me and also College and that is a big problem. This scholarship would help me so so so much. Any money would really help. It's been my dream to become a teacher. And if I don't get enough scholarship money to go to college I may have to put the dream on hold for a few years which I really don't want to do. I want to be able to go straight to college and have my dream happen as soon as possible. This scholarship will be such a big help to make my dreams come true. And help me with my financial issues.
John Young 'Pursue Your Passion' Scholarship
I have chosen my field of interest K-5 education and Special Education because I love helping and inspiring others. I wish to be a role model for those kids and in some cases a parental figure for those who need it. I have always loved helping care for and be there for children. I ended up practically raising my siblings for a long time so it is something I am familiar with. The idea that I can inspire these kids' lives and make a change for them and even inspire them to become teachers also means so so so much to me. I have spent so much of my life aiming for this career I changed so many things just for this career to work out. I remember in elementary school I met this girl who was an angel in special Ed and she made a giant impact on me. Because of her I learned I wanted to become a special Ed teacher in the future. And growing up I spent so much time caring for others and my siblings and helping to watch younger kids that it inspired me to be a k-5 teacher. I also love seeing the world they do and learning about their view on the world. It has such an innocence to it. I want to help teach the children the goodness of the world and that they can be whoever they want to be in the future if they put their mind and heart to it. I love knowing I have made great connections with them and an impact on them in general and knowing that there's a chance that they will still remember me in the future as a great teacher. I also enjoy knowing that I could be considered a safe place. I have done so much for this passion to happen. I have become a professional certified babysitter by the Red Cross and learned the basic first aid of caring for children and how to interact with them and their interests. I also helped with the special Ed class at my schools whenever I could and made connections with those kids as much as I could. I also aimed to constantly get A's and B's and I got two hi C's and to constantly keep my gpa up and have enough extracurriculars to get into my dream school. Also whenever I had the chance I would help care for the children at any of the extracurricular that I was at. I even signed up for my school's college credit class of teacher cadets to shadow one of the kindergarten classes at the school in my district. I have already learned so much about interacting with the little kids. It is honestly one of my favorite things I have done in my high school career overall. Those kids have taught me so many things and I have connected with them so well. I honestly wouldn't change a single thing.
      Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
I have always loved Sabrina Carpenter since she was on Disney channel. I just loved her attitude in the character she played and well in general. And her songs are so so so catchy. She has also helped empower so many people and gave them courage and pushed them to be the best. She has even saved people's lives with her music making them feel connected to her and like someone actually sees them for them. And that is how I feel. I feel seen by her and seeing her has made me have the courage to go after my own dreams and inspired me to reach my goals. She also shows people that through hard work and having passion anything they put their mind to is possible. Her songs and her in general also help with women empowerment. And she just has an authenticity about her that makes her seem so real and easy to connect with unlike other stars who don't. In general she is an inspiring artist that has changed many lives including mine and saved many lives. She is also one of the people that has inspired me and made me want to act if possible in the future.

“pretty isn’t pretty” I Know it isn't a long lyric but this one resonates with me so so so deeply. I like to interpret this as there are many versions of pretty and they all aren't the exact same. I remember when I was younger I thought I wasn't pretty and the only way to be considered pretty was to look like those models, those really really skinny girls. I ended up skipping meals and not eating right so I would look like them. And it didn't hit me that I don't need to do that. I am perfect the way I am. It took a lot of time for me to learn and understand that there are many versions of pretty. And that looking like a skinny supermodel is just one of them. I slowly had to get myself eating right which took a long time. I still have trouble eating right to this day. Aiming to be like those picture perfect models can really mess with someone's body and mental and emotional health. It makes you feel like the only way to get attention or have someone like you is to look like them and that's completely untrue. It doesn't matter how you look, you are pretty in your own way. You don't have to look a certain way, you don't have to be model thin or have hair or makeup just like them, heck you don't have to dress like them just be yourself and you are pretty. I feel that it is an important life lesson for many people. I wish someone had told me that when I was younger. But I try to teach younger girls, including my sister and younger cousins. I don't want them going down the same horrible path I went down. I remember criticizing every small aspect about myself to seem pretty. I hated my smile and refused to smile. I didn't like my hair and wanted to cut it all off to wear a wig. I didn't like how my face looked. Or how I dressed and changed my whole clothing style. I even changed how I acted to seem pretty. It's a big important lesson to learn that "pretty" is not always pretty. There are many different versions of pretty in the world and the one the media deems it isn't usually it. Pretty is whatever you make it.

There are so so so many reasons I am passionate about my future career. I plan to go to college and double major in both k-5 teaching and special education. I have always loved helping take care of children. And it's something I want to do in the future. The idea of making a big impact on these kids' lives and connecting with them means so much. Some children either have one parent or none and I want to be there for them. Some may even be looking for a mentor or just a shoulder to cry on or even someone there for them and I want to be that person. I wish to inspire young minds and give them an adult figure they can trust and knows will be there for them no matter what. I also spent most of my life raising my siblings or helping take care of the younger kids. It was just something I grew up doing and it grew on me. I found enjoyment in it and happiness. I found a way to express myself and my feelings and help others do the same. And I love the thought of being the reason a child ends up wanting to be a teacher also. To know I helped them find their future passion is amazing and heartwarming and inspiring. Another thing is the difference I wish to make in these children's lives. I could end up showing them and teaching them the good there is in the world and help teach them the difference they could help make. I also have enjoyed helping with special Ed classes and children. It was something I started doing in elementary school and it just stuckI had connected with this girl and she was an angel. I spent so much of my time there connecting with her and helping her. It was something I enjoyed so much. She was what inspired me to also want to become a special education teacher. I even ended up practicing and learning ASL to communicate with her. She was an inspiration to me. I have shaped my whole life around my future career. I became a certified red Cross babysitter to get more experience with kids. I helped take care of the children at any functions I was at. I also aimed to constantly get good grades to get into the college I want and take my school's teacher cadet program to shadow one of the kindergarten classes in my area.
