Wicked Fan Scholarship
Defying Gravity: How Wicked Helped Me Embrace My Own Path
The first time I heard "Defying Gravity" from Wicked, I was immediately drawn to its message of empowerment. Elphaba’s journey of self-acceptance, despite the expectations of the world around her, mirrors my own story. Like Elphaba, I’ve faced pressures to conform, but I’ve always felt compelled to carve out my own path, even when it seemed unconventional or unpopular. Wicked has been more than just a musical to me; it’s been a reminder to embrace who I am, flaws and all, and to stand tall in the face of adversity.
Growing up in a family where financial struggles and personal hardships were the norm, I often felt like I didn’t belong. The pressure to be "perfect" weighed heavily on me—whether it was striving to be the ideal student, the dutiful daughter, or the strong, self-reliant woman. Much like Elphaba, I was seen as different, sometimes misunderstood, because of my experiences. There were times when I doubted myself and felt like I was falling short of everyone’s expectations.
But Wicked gave me a different perspective. Elphaba’s strength, despite her struggles, inspired me to take pride in my individuality. She didn’t conform to others' definitions of success, and that made me realize I didn’t have to either. Her iconic line, “It’s time to try defying gravity,” resonates deeply with me, reminding me that I have the power to overcome my circumstances and rise above the limitations that have been placed on me. Whether it’s pursuing my MBA to break into a male-dominated industry or advocating for gender equality, I’m learning, like Elphaba, to fly on my own terms.
What’s equally powerful is the dynamic friendship between Elphaba and Glinda. Their bond, though tested, reflects the importance of friendship in helping us discover who we are. Glinda’s character development, from seeking popularity to finding deeper meaning, mirrors the transitions I’ve experienced in my own relationships. I’ve learned that true friendship is about mutual growth, supporting each other even when paths diverge. Glinda and Elphaba taught me that it’s okay for friendships to evolve and that sometimes, letting go is part of that growth. Their song "For Good" captures this beautifully, a reminder that people enter our lives for a reason and leave an indelible mark on who we become.
As I anticipate Wicked’s film adaptation, I’m excited to see how these themes will come to life in a new way. But no matter the format, Wicked will always remind me to be unapologetically myself, to stand up for what I believe in, and to trust that the challenges I face today will help me soar tomorrow. Through Elphaba’s defiance and Glinda’s transformation, Wicked has helped me understand that being "different" isn’t a weakness—it’s the key to unlocking my true potential.
Like Elphaba, I’m still learning to defy gravity. And that, for me, is the magic of Wicked.
GUTS- Olivia Rodrigo Fan Scholarship
The Resonance of Teenage Turmoil in Olivia Rodrigo’s "GUTS"
Olivia Rodrigo’s album GUTS has a raw authenticity that hits deeply, especially for someone like me who’s navigated the ups and downs of adolescence while facing personal and familial challenges. One lyric from her song "ballad of a homeschooled girl" particularly resonates with me: “Each time I step outside, it’s social suicide, I wanna curl up and die.” This simple yet striking line captures the anxiety and discomfort many teens face while trying to fit in—a feeling that has shaped my own journey through adolescence.
As a Hispanic woman who grew up in a tumultuous environment, I’ve always felt like I was carrying multiple layers of complexity that others couldn’t see. Whether it was grappling with my father’s absence due to his frequent incarcerations, or the weight of financial and emotional burdens after my family’s house fire, the idea of stepping into the world often felt overwhelming. I was constantly haunted by the need to “keep it all together,” hiding the anxiety that gnawed at me from within.
Rodrigo’s lyric describes the inner voice that so many of us, especially teens, experience. The fear of judgment, the pressure to conform, and the constant feeling that no matter what you do, you don’t quite belong. Like her, I often felt that every misstep or awkward social interaction was magnified, making me want to retreat into myself. I wanted to hide from a world that felt so alienating, where everyone else seemed to have it all figured out while I was silently battling my own struggles.
But as Rodrigo conveys throughout GUTS, adolescence is about more than just fear—it’s about confronting those feelings head-on, finding strength in vulnerability, and realizing that it’s okay to be imperfect. Her music serves as a reminder that it’s normal to experience these moments of self-doubt and confusion, and that’s what makes the teenage experience so universally relatable.
While Olivia Rodrigo’s lyric captures the anxiety and uncertainty that defined much of my adolescence, it also speaks to the growth I’ve experienced since then. Through my mental health journey, including my diagnosis of anxiety in 2022, I’ve learned to not only face but embrace the difficult parts of myself. I no longer feel the need to “curl up and die” when faced with uncomfortable situations. Instead, I’ve developed the resilience to keep pushing forward, to use those moments of vulnerability as stepping stones toward self-discovery and strength.
What GUTS has taught me, and what I hope to carry forward into my future as a business leader and advocate for mental health, is the importance of being real. Olivia Rodrigo’s unapologetic honesty has encouraged me to embrace my imperfections and to share my story, not just for my own healing, but to inspire others who might feel lost in their own struggles. The power of music, and GUTS in particular, lies in its ability to validate our feelings, reminding us that we’re not alone in our struggles, no matter how isolating they may seem.
In conclusion, GUTS has given me a language to express the turbulence of my teenage years, helping me reflect on how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown. Rodrigo’s lyric encapsulates the fear and anxiety I once felt, but also symbolizes the strength I’ve gained in learning to embrace who I am, imperfections and all.
Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
Destigmatizing Mental Health and Building a Brighter Future
Mental health has shaped my journey in ways that I once never imagined, pushing me to become stronger, more empathetic, and more resilient in the face of adversity. The silent struggles that many people face daily, often hidden behind smiles and the facade of normalcy, reflect the broader issue we still face as a society: the stigma surrounding mental health. This stigma has shaped not just my life, but also the lives of those I love dearly, making my journey with mental health deeply personal and impactful.
Growing up, I was surrounded by hardship. The weight of my father’s abuse, his recurring incarceration, and the destruction caused by my family’s house fire left me burdened at an early age. I was forced to grow up quickly, taking on responsibilities that most children are spared. Losing my grandmother, who was my pillar of strength, further compounded the pain. Yet, in all this chaos, mental health was rarely spoken about. My family, like many others in minority communities, believed in enduring silently, in pushing through no matter how heavy the load. But it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with anxiety in 2022 that I began to realize how deeply this silence had impacted me.
I always considered myself strong, someone who could handle anything life threw at her. But what I didn’t realize was how much I had internalized pain and stress. By the time I was in college, it was clear I needed help. I wasn’t just grappling with the overwhelming workload of my undergraduate degree, but I was also battling constant worry, an unshakable feeling of impending doom, and the belief that no matter how much I achieved, I wasn’t enough. The stigma of seeking help, of admitting that I wasn’t okay, weighed heavily on me. It wasn’t just a personal burden; it was cultural. Growing up as a Hispanic woman, mental health issues were often seen as something to be endured, not openly discussed.
My diagnosis of anxiety opened my eyes to the importance of mental health care, not only for myself but for everyone who, like me, had been taught to carry their burdens in silence. I started therapy, and while it was difficult at first to confront my emotions, it allowed me to understand how deeply my past had affected my present. More importantly, it allowed me to start envisioning a future where I could not only take care of my own mental health but also be a voice for others struggling with similar issues.
As I reflect on my journey, I see how mental health challenges have shaped my relationships. I’ve learned to cultivate empathy and patience, especially with those who, like me, may not always express their struggles openly. I’ve also become a better listener, understanding that sometimes, what people need most is someone who will not judge but simply hear them. This has been transformative, both in my personal relationships and in my leadership roles. In founding the UWSP Women in Business group, I prioritized creating a safe space where women could share not just their professional ambitions, but their personal challenges as well. This understanding that mental health is integral to our overall well-being has been at the heart of everything I do.
As a business leader in the making, I aim to challenge the systemic structures that overlook mental health, particularly in the corporate world. There is often a culture of “toughness” in business, where showing vulnerability is seen as a weakness. But I believe that we need leaders who understand that acknowledging mental health is not a weakness, but a strength. It takes courage to face our vulnerabilities, and it’s something I want to champion in my future career. By fostering a work environment that prioritizes mental well-being, I hope to break down the barriers that prevent individuals from seeking help.
My vision is to uplift and support the next generation of women and marginalized communities by advocating for mental health resources in the business world. I’ve seen firsthand how the pressures of education, financial independence, and personal loss can take a toll on one’s mental well-being. With my own financial struggles—balancing student debt, limited aid, and the weight of paying for my education on my own—I’ve felt the stress many students face. Yet, I’ve also seen the impact of what happens when we don’t take the time to address mental health. It’s a cycle that continues unless we consciously work to break it.
In honor of my great-grandmother, Blanche, and my Mexican grandmother, Mary, who both modeled resilience, I’ve made it my mission to be a voice for those who feel unheard. I don’t just want to succeed in my own career; I want to create spaces where mental health is no longer a taboo subject, where employees, students, and individuals in every walk of life can seek help without fear of judgment.
Overall, mental health challenges have not only shaped my goals, relationships, and understanding of the world but have also given me a deeper purpose. The impact of losing loved ones, experiencing trauma, and the personal journey of healing has led me to a vision of leadership that integrates mental well-being into every facet of life. By normalizing conversations around mental health and advocating for change, I hope to create a future where no one has to endure their struggles in silence. I aspire to be the leader who breaks these barriers and shines a light on the importance of mental health, in business and beyond.
Sean Carroll's Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship
The universe is vast, intricate, and full of mysteries that beckon exploration. To me, the pursuit of understanding the universe is not just about satisfying curiosity but about deepening our connection with the very fabric of existence. In a world where technology and human knowledge are accelerating at an unprecedented pace, it is imperative that we support those who are driven by a thirst to uncover new truths about the universe, for this pursuit forms the foundation of all progress—scientific, philosophical, and even personal.
Growing up, I was captivated by the night sky. As a child, I spent hours gazing at the stars, pondering the age-old questions that have challenged humankind for centuries: What is our place in the universe? How did it come to be? And why does anything exist at all? As I got older, my curiosity deepened. I became fascinated with not just the beauty of the stars but the scientific principles behind them. I devoured books on physics, cosmology, and philosophy, captivated by how the same laws that govern the movement of galaxies also govern the smallest particles in our bodies. This sense of interconnectedness was awe-inspiring and pushed me to pursue a deeper understanding of the universe in every aspect of my education.
However, my journey to higher education has not been without challenges. As a low income college student from an underrepresented community, I have had to navigate the complexities of academic life largely on my own. Financial strain has always been a significant obstacle, as I’ve had to work multiple jobs while studying to support myself and cover my tuition. The burden of debt looms heavily over me, but my passion for learning and understanding how the world works drives me forward.
I believe it is crucial to support students like myself because we represent the future of discovery. The pursuit of understanding the universe, whether through physics, philosophy, biology, or any other field, is not only a noble endeavor but one that has practical implications for the betterment of society. Every scientific breakthrough, philosophical insight, or technological advancement that we achieve brings us closer to understanding our place in the cosmos, and I am determined to contribute to that journey.
One of the concepts that most fascinates me is the relationship between time, space, and consciousness. Sean Carroll’s work on the nature of time and the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics has inspired me to think about the universe in ways I never considered before. The idea that there may be multiple realities, each governed by the same fundamental laws but branching off into different possibilities, is both thrilling and humbling. It reminds me that the universe is not limited by the boundaries of our current understanding. There is always more to learn, and our role as curious beings is to push those boundaries.
My academic journey is driven by this sense of wonder. As I pursue my MBA with a focus on applied decision-making and leadership, I am constantly reminded of how the principles of the universe—such as complexity, uncertainty, and interconnectedness—apply to all aspects of life, from business to social interactions. Understanding the universe isn’t just about delving into the cosmos; it’s about recognizing patterns, asking the right questions, and applying those insights to create meaningful change in the world. Whether through scientific research or leadership, my goal is to make a positive impact on society by leveraging the knowledge I’ve gained through my studies.
I believe that understanding the universe is essential not only for scientific advancement but for cultivating a sense of humility and interconnectedness. The more we learn about the vastness of space, the complexity of time, and the delicate balance that holds everything together, the more we are reminded of how small yet significant our existence is. This understanding compels us to care for one another, to protect our planet, and to strive for a future where knowledge is shared freely and equitably.
As a Hispanic woman in academia, I am acutely aware of the disparities that exist in education, particularly in fields like STEM. Women, especially those from marginalized communities, are often underrepresented in disciplines that seek to explore the universe, whether through the lens of physics, mathematics, or philosophy. Yet, I believe that our perspectives are essential to the advancement of human knowledge. By supporting women and first-generation students like me, we are ensuring that the future of discovery is diverse, inclusive, and reflective of the many different ways we experience the world.
The Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship represents more than just financial support; it symbolizes a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake. It is an investment in the minds of young people who are dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of the universe, regardless of the barriers they face. With this scholarship, I would be able to focus more fully on my studies, freeing me from the constant worry of financial strain and allowing me to dive deeper into the questions that have always captivated me.
I am passionate about understanding the universe because it represents the ultimate pursuit of truth. Whether through studying the physics of black holes, the philosophy of existence, or the biology of life itself, the answers we seek have the potential to transform the way we live, think, and interact with one another. In a world filled with uncertainty, the quest to understand the universe provides a beacon of hope, a reminder that even in the face of complexity, there is always the possibility of clarity and understanding.
Overall, I believe that supporting young people in their pursuit of understanding the universe is one of the most important investments we can make. Through my academic journey and personal experiences, I have learned that curiosity, perseverance, and a commitment to knowledge are the keys to unlocking the mysteries of the cosmos. With the support of the Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship, I am confident that I will be able to contribute to the ongoing quest to better understand the nature of our universe and, in doing so, make a meaningful impact on the world.
Mental Health Scholarship for Women
Throughout my college journey, mental health has been both a challenge and a priority for me. Balancing rigorous academic coursework, leadership roles, financial responsibilities, and personal hardships has tested my resilience in ways I couldn’t have predicted. As a Hispanic woman who has faced financial strain, family struggles, and personal trauma, I understand how important it is to care for my mental health in order to succeed academically and personally.
I was diagnosed with mental health challenges in 2022, a turning point that made me realize how much I had been pushing myself without truly addressing the emotional and psychological toll it was taking on me. The pressures of being working to support myself financially, and maintaining high academic standards began to weigh heavily on my mental well-being. The weight of societal expectations on women to "do it all" only compounded my anxiety, making it difficult to juggle schoolwork, volunteer commitments, and personal responsibilities without feeling overwhelmed.
My mental health directly affects my academic performance. There have been days when anxiety made it nearly impossible to concentrate in class, let alone tackle homework assignments or group projects. I remember how I struggled to stay focused during exams or presentations, not because I lacked preparation, but because the pressure triggered overwhelming feelings of doubt and worry. There were moments when the burden of perfectionism felt paralyzing, and it became clear that my mental well-being was just as critical to my success as my academic efforts.
Recognizing that I needed to make mental health a priority, I began implementing strategies to protect and nurture my emotional well-being. First, I sought therapy, which has been instrumental in helping me manage my anxiety. Having a professional to talk to has given me coping mechanisms to handle stress, improve my time management, and maintain a healthier perspective on my academic and personal challenges. Therapy has helped me reframe my thinking, so I no longer view setbacks as failures but as opportunities for growth.
Additionally, I make sure to carve out time for self-care amidst my busy schedule. This includes practicing mindfulness through journaling, engaging in regular physical activity, and setting boundaries to avoid burnout. I’ve found that exercise not only benefits my physical health but is also a powerful tool for managing stress and anxiety. Whether it's going for a run, doing yoga, or simply taking a walk, these moments of movement provide a mental reset that allows me to return to my studies with greater focus and clarity.
I also prioritize balance by surrounding myself with a strong support network. I lean on friends, mentors, and family members who understand the importance of mental health and encourage me to take breaks when needed. In turn, I try to offer that same support to others, particularly women in my community, because I know how isolating these challenges can feel.
By actively managing my mental health, I’ve been able to maintain my academic achievements while also pursuing leadership opportunities and personal growth. I’m driven by the knowledge that in order to give my best to my studies and future career, I must first take care of myself. This scholarship would help alleviate some of the financial stress I face, allowing me to continue prioritizing my mental wellness while completing my MBA. More importantly, it would validate the journey I’ve been on—one where mental health is not only acknowledged but championed as a key to success.
Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
One technology that inspires me deeply is artificial intelligence (AI), particularly its potential in improving access to education. As someone who has overcome significant financial and personal challenges to pursue my academic journey, I see AI as a game-changer for making education more inclusive and accessible, especially for women and underrepresented communities.
AI-powered learning platforms can break down barriers by providing personalized education to students worldwide, regardless of their geographic location or socioeconomic status. I’ve seen how adaptive learning technologies can cater to individual learning styles, allowing students who may have struggled in traditional educational environments to thrive. This shift toward democratized education excites me because it empowers individuals to gain the skills necessary to participate in the tech-driven workforce.
For women, AI presents a unique opportunity to close the gender gap in tech. By leveraging AI to provide mentorship, skills training, and career guidance, we can create a support system that fosters female leadership in technology fields. This technology has the power to dismantle the structural inequalities that often prevent women from excelling in STEM careers, offering them the tools and resources they need to succeed.
As a student pursuing a career in business and technology, I want to contribute to this movement by working on solutions that use AI to make learning more equitable. My goal is to develop initiatives that harness AI's potential to create educational platforms that specifically focus on supporting women and marginalized groups in STEM. By doing so, I hope to inspire more women to enter and lead in the tech sector, fueling innovation and shaping a more inclusive future.
AI isn’t just a tool; it’s a catalyst for change, and I’m committed to being part of that change.
Women in STEM Scholarship
Throughout history, women in STEM have faced countless barriers, yet their contributions have been transformative. As a Hispanic woman and an honors student with a passion for leadership and empowerment, I have seen firsthand how critical representation is in every field, particularly in STEM. My academic journey has led me to pursue a career in business with an emphasis on technology and leadership, fields that require the diverse perspectives and problem-solving abilities women can uniquely offer.
Choosing STEM was a decision driven by curiosity and a desire to challenge the traditional boundaries that often hinder women like me. Growing up in a low-income household, I had limited access to technology. I relied on my mother’s perseverance and resilience to navigate challenges, learning from her that the path to success would not always be straightforward. I became fascinated by the power of technology to solve real-world problems, particularly in the areas of business analytics, leadership decision-making, and economic development. This is where I saw an opportunity to merge my love for problem-solving with my commitment to gender equality.
While working towards my MBA in Applied Decision Making and Leadership, I realized that technology’s role in shaping our future is immense, and women need to be at the forefront of this movement. In my leadership roles, including founding Women in Business at my university and chairing the Uplift NextGen Advisory Council, I saw the importance of creating spaces where women’s voices are not only heard but also valued. These experiences have inspired me to continue advocating for women, especially in STEM, where diversity is essential to innovation.
The STEM field offers infinite potential for growth, yet it remains a space where many women, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, still feel excluded. This has fueled my ambition to push the boundaries of what is possible, not just for myself, but for the women who come after me. I believe that to truly make an impact, we must not only innovate but also cultivate inclusive environments where all perspectives are welcome.
My long-term goal is to use my skills in business technology to develop programs that address gender inequality in STEM industries. I hope to create platforms that empower young women to pursue STEM careers, offering mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities that I wish I had access to earlier in my journey. The financial support from this scholarship would allow me to continue my education and further develop these initiatives, minimizing financial strain and enabling me to fully focus on creating change.
As a woman in STEM, I am committed to using my platform to advocate for equal representation and dismantle the barriers that prevent women from excelling in these fields. I know that the next wave of innovation will be driven by diverse perspectives, and I want to be part of the movement that makes this a reality.
In conclusion, pursuing a STEM career as a Hispanic woman is both a privilege and a responsibility. I am driven not only by my passion for technology but by the knowledge that I can help pave the way for future generations of women to thrive in fields where they have historically been underrepresented. This scholarship would be an invaluable resource in helping me achieve these goals, empowering me to contribute to the STEM field in meaningful ways.
Learner Online Learning Innovator Scholarship for Veterans
In today’s digital age, education has transcended the traditional classroom, opening new doors for learners from all walks of life, including military members and their families. For me, the flexibility and accessibility of online tools have been instrumental in my academic journey, allowing me to blend my responsibilities as a student with my personal goals and career aspirations. As I work toward an MBA in Applied Decision Making & Leadership, online platforms and resources have become an integral part of how I learn and apply my knowledge in real-world settings.
One of the primary platforms that has supported my educational journey is Canvas, the online learning management system used by my university. Canvas allows me to access lectures, participate in discussions, and submit assignments from anywhere, making it possible for me to continue my studies while balancing my work and community service commitments. The platform also offers tools for collaboration, allowing me to connect with classmates and professors in real-time. This has been particularly valuable for group projects, where the ability to communicate and share resources virtually has enhanced the learning experience.
In addition to Canvas, I utilize Coursera, an online learning platform that offers courses and certifications in a wide range of subjects. Through Coursera, I’ve been able to supplement my coursework with specialized classes in leadership, data analytics, and business strategy. These additional resources have deepened my understanding of key concepts and helped me apply them in practical settings. For example, a course I took on data-driven decision-making gave me the tools to analyze data more effectively, a skill I now use regularly in my role as a scholarship assistant with AmeriCorps, where I help students navigate the financial aid process by analyzing their individual needs and matching them with appropriate resources.
Another vital tool in my educational toolkit is LinkedIn Learning, which offers on-demand video tutorials on a variety of professional skills. As someone who is preparing for a leadership role in business management, I’ve used LinkedIn Learning to enhance my communication, project management, and negotiation skills. These are competencies that I apply not only in my academic work but also in my professional roles, such as co-hosting the Point Out Loud Women Trailblazers Podcast. The podcast, which I co-host with my mentor, Dr. Lyna Matesi, focuses on leadership and empowerment, and the skills I’ve learned through online resources have helped me manage content creation, guest coordination, and promotional strategies for the podcast.
The flexibility of these online tools has also allowed me to stay engaged with my community. As the founder of the UWSP Women in Business chapter, I’ve used platforms like Zoom and Google Meet to host virtual events, bringing together women leaders from diverse industries to share their experiences with students. These virtual events have provided a space for mentorship and networking, something that I believe is essential for fostering growth and empowerment among women in business.
Overall, the online tools and platforms I’ve used have not only supported my educational journey but have also equipped me with practical skills that I apply in my personal and professional life. The adaptability and accessibility of online learning have allowed me to pursue my academic goals while staying connected to my community and contributing to initiatives that promote equity and opportunity. As I continue to work toward my MBA and beyond, I’m confident that these online resources will remain a crucial part of my growth, helping me achieve my goals and give back to those around me.
Diva of Halo Legacy Scholarship
Growing up as a Hispanic woman in a single-parent household, I always felt the weight of expectations and the desire to carve out a space where I could be true to myself. My journey as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community has been an integral part of that process, shaping not only who I am but also what I aspire to achieve. I am deeply moved by the life and legacy of Jerry Lopez, also known as Coco Chanel, whose advocacy for safe spaces and artistic freedom resonates profoundly with my own experiences and aspirations.
Coco Chanel's dedication to uplifting young queer individuals and creating spaces where everyone felt valued is something that inspires me every day. Her vibrant spirit and commitment to making the world a more inclusive place reflect the values I strive to embody in my own life. As someone who navigates the complexities of being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have experienced both the challenges and the profound sense of belonging that comes from finding supportive environments. Coco’s legacy reminds me of the importance of creating and maintaining such spaces for others.
My biggest passion is using my education and experiences to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in the realm of business management. I am currently pursuing an MBA in Applied Decision Making & Leadership with the goal of leading in a way that fosters inclusivity and supports the needs of marginalized communities. I believe that leadership is about more than just guiding a team; it's about creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. This belief is deeply rooted in my own experiences as a queer individual and reflects the values Coco championed.
The scholarship funds would be instrumental in allowing me to continue my education and to carry forward Coco’s legacy. With these funds, I plan to focus on initiatives that promote workplace diversity and inclusion, ensuring that future leaders understand the importance of creating safe and empowering spaces for all individuals. I aim to use my platform to advocate for policies and practices that reflect the values Coco stood for, particularly in business environments where inclusivity can often be sidelined.
Being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community has significantly impacted my goals and dreams. It has instilled in me a deep understanding of the importance of representation and the need for systemic change. My personal experiences have driven me to pursue a career where I can influence policies and practices that support equality and inclusivity. This ambition is fueled by the challenges I have faced and the support I have received from those who have created safe spaces for me and others like me.
In honoring Coco Chanel’s legacy, I am committed to ensuring that her vision of a world where everyone feels valued continues to thrive. Her impact on the community serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when we stand together and advocate for each other. Through my work and leadership, I aspire to contribute to that vision by creating environments where diversity is celebrated and every individual has the opportunity to succeed.
This scholarship would not only support my educational journey but also enable me to give back to the community in ways that reflect Coco’s values. It would help me turn my passion into action, ensuring that the work I do continues to uplift and empower those who, like me, have found strength and inspiration in the legacy of individuals like Coco Chanel.
STEAM Generator Scholarship
As a Hispanic woman pursuing higher education, I am acutely aware of the barriers that many in underrepresented communities face. While I have been fortunate enough to access higher education, the journey has been filled with both hope and challenges. The rising cost of college and the pressure to succeed in spaces where few people share my background have been daunting. Yet, I am driven by the belief that education is not just a tool for personal growth but a means to uplift my family and community.
Growing up in a single-parent household, I saw firsthand the sacrifices my mother made to support my education. She instilled in me the belief that knowledge can open doors that were previously inaccessible, and I carry that conviction with me as I pursue my MBA in Applied Decision Making & Leadership. However, the financial strain of higher education has been a constant source of anxiety. FAFSA doesn’t provide enough assistance due to my parents' financial situation, but their inability to contribute means I bear the full weight of funding my education.
This has not deterred me, though. Instead, it has fueled my ambition to excel, not only for myself but for those who come after me. I understand the importance of representation in spaces that have historically excluded people like me, and I am determined to break those barriers. Pursuing higher education allows me to set a new standard for what is possible within my family and community.
My hopes for the future are anchored in my desire to create opportunities for others. Through my degree, I plan to enter business management, where I can lead with integrity, compassion, and a focus on equity. I want to ensure that the next generation of leaders, particularly those from marginalized communities, have a pathway to success that is less burdened by the financial and systemic barriers that I’ve faced.
Despite the challenges, I am hopeful. Every step I take in my educational journey brings me closer to my goal of creating a more inclusive and equitable business world. I want to inspire others to see that, no matter their background, higher education is a possibility. The opportunity to learn, grow, and lead is within reach if we remain determined and focused.
In a world where access to education is often a privilege, I am committed to using mine to make a difference. My background may not fit the traditional mold of success, but it is precisely that experience that drives me to challenge the status quo and create a better future for myself and others. Through resilience, ambition, and a passion for learning, I am confident that I can turn my hopes into reality, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive tomorrow.
Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
My experience with mental health has profoundly shaped my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations. One of the most defining experiences in my life was watching my father’s battle with alcoholism. His addiction didn’t just destroy him—it broke our family apart, leaving emotional scars that have taken years to begin healing.
Growing up, my father’s alcoholism cast a long shadow over our lives. He wasn’t the stable, supportive figure I needed; instead, his unpredictable behavior caused constant anxiety. Sometimes he was kind and present, but more often, he was absent—physically or emotionally. As his addiction worsened, it became clear that alcohol had become the center of his life. This led to arguments, financial instability, and eventually, his departure from our family. Losing my father to his addiction was devastating, but what hurt the most was watching how it broke him down as a person, leaving only a shell of who he once was.
This personal experience fundamentally changed my views on mental health. It taught me that mental health struggles, especially when left unaddressed, can have ripple effects on families and communities. I used to see addiction and mental illness as problems isolated to individuals, but I now understand how these struggles affect everyone connected to the person suffering. This realization made me more empathetic and more driven to promote awareness and support for mental health challenges.
My father’s departure forced me to grow up quickly, and it instilled in me a sense of resilience and determination. I had to learn how to navigate life without the presence of a father figure, while also being there to support my siblings and my mother. These experiences taught me the value of perseverance in the face of adversity and have inspired me to build a career where I can help others, even indirectly, by creating supportive, inclusive environments.
My passion for business management grew from this need to create order, stability, and growth in areas where these things seemed to be lacking in my personal life. As I pursued my undergraduate degree in Business Administration, I realized that leadership in business is not just about numbers and profits—it’s about people. Seeing how my father’s struggles affected our family made me deeply aware of the importance of supporting others, whether it’s employees, customers, or colleagues. I want to lead with compassion and empathy, and part of that involves understanding the mental health challenges that many people face in the workplace.
I’ve been inspired to focus on leadership that promotes well-being, productivity, and healthy work-life balance. In the future, I aim to build a company culture where mental health is prioritized and employees feel safe discussing their challenges. By fostering a supportive environment, I hope to break down the stigmas that often surround mental health issues in the professional world. People should not have to choose between their careers and their well-being, and I want to ensure that those under my leadership never face that dilemma.
Furthermore, I’ve become passionate about the role business leaders can play in addressing mental health issues at a systemic level. I believe businesses have a responsibility to support their employees’ mental health, whether through providing resources like counseling, promoting mental health days, or creating policies that encourage a balanced life. This belief stems from my own experience watching my father struggle without the right support in place. If he had access to better mental health care, or if his workplace had been more supportive, perhaps his story would have ended differently.
Mental health has influenced every aspect of my life, from my relationships to my career aspirations. Watching my father’s struggles has made me more aware of the importance of mental well-being and the devastating consequences when it’s ignored. I’ve dedicated myself to a career in business management with the goal of creating environments that prioritize both professional success and personal well-being.
Receiving this scholarship would enable me to continue my education and work toward becoming the kind of leader who makes a difference—not just in business, but in the lives of those I lead. It would help me achieve my goal of advocating for mental health awareness and fostering supportive, inclusive workplaces. In doing so, I hope to honor the lessons I’ve learned from my father’s struggles and contribute to a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or overlooked.
Eco-Warrior Scholarship
In a world where climate change poses an ever-growing threat to the environment, I am committed to living sustainably and reducing my carbon footprint. Growing up, I was always taught the importance of caring for our planet, but it wasn’t until recent years that I truly began to grasp the magnitude of the environmental crisis we face. Now, I make it a priority to incorporate sustainable practices into my daily life, recognizing that even small actions can contribute to significant change.
One of the most intentional choices I’ve made is adopting a plant-based diet. After learning about the environmental impact of animal agriculture, including deforestation, water usage, and greenhouse gas emissions, I realized that my food choices were directly tied to the health of the planet. By reducing my consumption of meat and dairy, I have minimized my carbon footprint, as plant-based foods require fewer resources and generate fewer emissions. This change has not only been better for the environment but also for my personal health.
Additionally, I am mindful of my energy consumption. I live in an off-campus apartment where I’ve taken steps to make my living space as energy-efficient as possible. This includes using LED lighting, unplugging electronics when they’re not in use, and utilizing a programmable thermostat to reduce unnecessary heating and cooling. I also air-dry my clothes instead of using a dryer, which cuts down on energy usage. By making these small adjustments, I’m able to significantly lower my household’s energy demand.
Another key area where I’ve focused my efforts is waste reduction. I’m an avid supporter of the zero-waste movement, which encourages individuals to produce as little waste as possible. I bring reusable bags, containers, and utensils everywhere I go, avoiding single-use plastics as much as possible. I also compost food scraps and recycle diligently, ensuring that I’m contributing as little as possible to landfills. This practice has not only reduced my environmental impact but has also fostered a deeper connection to how I consume and dispose of resources.
I’ve also prioritized sustainable transportation. Living in a city with a walkable layout, I opt to walk or bike to most destinations rather than drive. When necessary, I carpool with friends or use public transportation to minimize the number of single-passenger trips. Reducing vehicle emissions is one of the most effective ways to cut down on one’s carbon footprint, and I take pride in doing my part to lessen my impact on air pollution.
Minimizing my carbon footprint is important because the health of our planet is at stake. The effects of climate change—rising temperatures, more frequent natural disasters, and biodiversity loss—are already being felt globally, and without immediate action, future generations will face even more dire consequences. By living sustainably, I hope to contribute to a global effort to protect our environment and slow the progression of climate change. Every decision we make today impacts the world of tomorrow, and I believe it is our collective responsibility to preserve the Earth for future generations.
This scholarship would allow me to continue my education and further integrate sustainability into my future career. I aim to use my business background to champion sustainable practices in the workplace, advocating for policies that reduce environmental harm and promote a green economy. In doing so, I hope to make a lasting impact and inspire others to join me in the fight for a healthier, more sustainable planet.
Boatswain’s Mate Third Class Antonie Bernard Thomas Memorial Scholarship
Antonie “Tony” Bernard Thomas embodied qualities that I strive to live by: leadership, resilience, selflessness, and an unwavering work ethic. His legacy of service and commitment is one I deeply admire, and it is in his honor that I reflect on how these values shape my own journey.
Leadership, to me, is about fostering growth in others while staying committed to one’s vision. As the former president of UWSP Women in Business, I led a diverse group of students in advocating for women’s empowerment in professional spaces. Communication was key to this role. By actively listening to my peers and creating an inclusive environment, I ensured that everyone’s voice was heard, just as Tony did in his role as a father and officer. I learned that true leadership is not just about being at the forefront but also about supporting others in their aspirations and guiding them toward success.
Resilience has been a cornerstone of my life. Growing up in a single-parent household, I faced many financial and emotional challenges. In December 2022, our home was damaged in a fire, an experience that tested my strength and ability to persevere. Through it all, I stayed focused on my educational and career goals, maintaining my grades while working part-time. This resilience comes from understanding that setbacks are not defeats; they are opportunities to learn and grow. Just as Tony faced challenges in his career and personal life, I believe that resilience is built by weathering life’s storms with courage and determination.
Selflessness is another value I hold dear. My work with Uplift, a nonprofit supporting women and children in crisis, has given me the opportunity to put others before myself. Whether I’m organizing fundraising initiatives or offering mentorship, I’m constantly reminded that giving back is not just about providing material support but offering time, empathy, and understanding. Like Tony, who dedicated his life to serving others, I find fulfillment in lifting up those in need and making a positive impact in my community.
Focus and determination have guided my academic journey. I recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Management and am now pursuing an MBA in Applied Decision Making & Leadership. My career goal is to start a business that focuses on equitable opportunities for underrepresented communities. This ambition requires not only a strong work ethic but also an unrelenting focus on my vision. Balancing work, school, and extracurricular activities has taught me the importance of time management and perseverance—traits that Tony exemplified in both his service in the Navy and his career as a police officer.
Leadership is not just about holding a position of power; it’s about using that position to uplift others, foster growth, and create meaningful change. It requires resilience in the face of challenges, selflessness in service to others, and the determination to stay focused on long-term goals. Tony’s life exemplifies these values, and I strive to carry them forward in everything I do.
Through this scholarship, I aim to continue my education, develop my leadership skills, and work toward building a better future for those around me. Tony’s legacy inspires me to serve with compassion, lead with integrity, and work tirelessly to make a positive difference in the world.
Michael Rudometkin Memorial Scholarship
Michael Rudometkin’s legacy of selflessness, service, and community resonates deeply with me. I have always believed that our true purpose in life is to uplift those around us and create meaningful connections. This belief was shaped by my experiences growing up in a single-parent household, where the importance of perseverance and helping others was ingrained in me from an early age.
My family has faced many challenges, including a house fire that caused significant damage to our home in 2022. While this was a difficult time, it taught me the value of resilience and the strength that comes from a supportive community. I witnessed firsthand how friends, neighbors, and local organizations came together to offer help, reminding me that no matter how challenging life becomes, there is always an opportunity to give back.
Inspired by these acts of kindness, I became involved with Uplift, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and children in crisis. Through this work, I have spearheaded fundraising initiatives, helping raise awareness and gather resources for families in need. Whether it's organizing drives to provide clothing and school supplies or facilitating mentorship programs for young women, I am committed to ensuring that no one feels alone during their most vulnerable moments.
Another significant moment of service came when I co-hosted the Point Out Loud Women Trailblazer Podcast, where I had the privilege of highlighting the stories of influential women in our community. By sharing their journeys and amplifying their voices, I aimed to inspire others and foster a sense of empowerment among listeners. This project taught me the importance of creating platforms where diverse voices can be heard and celebrated, reinforcing my belief that community service is about elevating others and creating opportunities for them to thrive.
Selflessness, to me, is not just about grand gestures but the small, everyday acts that build stronger connections and change lives. As a server, I’ve often seen how simple acts of kindness, like staying after a shift to help a colleague or making sure a customer leaves with a smile, can brighten someone's day. In those moments, I’m reminded that helping others doesn’t require extraordinary circumstances—sometimes it’s about showing up when it matters most.
In addition to my hands-on community work, I am pursuing an MBA in Applied Decision Making & Leadership. My ultimate goal is to start a business that champions equitable opportunities, particularly for underserved communities. I want to build an organization that prioritizes people over profit, much like Michael did in his life. I hope to implement policies that support fair pay, career development, and a work-life balance, ensuring that future generations have the support and resources they need to succeed.
Michael Rudometkin’s life serves as a powerful reminder that the greatest impact we can make is through the relationships we build and the people we help along the way. I strive to honor his legacy by continuing to serve my community with compassion, dedication, and the belief that together, we can all make the world a better place. Through this scholarship, I hope to further my education and expand my ability to give back, carrying Michael’s spirit of generosity into every endeavor I undertake.
Harvest Achievement Scholarship
As a Hispanic woman raised by a single mother, accountability has always been central to my personal and professional journey. Growing up in a family where hard work was not just encouraged but necessary, I learned early on the importance of taking responsibility for my actions, goals, and the impact I have on others. This sense of accountability has guided me through my academic and leadership roles, and it continues to shape my ambition to support other women in their journeys.
Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Applied Decision Making and Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. This pursuit follows my completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management. My passion for leadership and supporting the advancement of women has been evident throughout my academic career. I founded and led the UWSP Women in Business organization as President for two years, a role where I championed inclusivity, collaboration, and empowerment. Accountability was the cornerstone of this role—I held myself accountable not just for my success, but for ensuring that every member of the organization had the resources and support they needed to thrive. Whether it was organizing professional development workshops or creating a safe space for women to share their challenges, I always strove to lead by example.
Beyond the academic sphere, I’ve taken on leadership roles within my community, including serving as Chair of Uplift's NextGen Advisory Council- a non profit organization that supports women and children in crises. This experience was particularly transformative because it challenged me to foster meaningful conversations and initiatives that would directly impact women and children in crisis. In this role, accountability meant following through on promises, being transparent in my actions, and continuously assessing the outcomes of our projects. I worked closely with the board to prioritize initiatives that would make a tangible difference, and my commitment to delivering results taught me the value of taking ownership of both successes and challenges.
Maintaining accountability has also played a crucial role in my personal development. I am a firm believer in self-reflection and goal-setting as tools for growth. I regularly journal and meditate, practices that help me stay grounded and assess where I am in relation to my goals. This has allowed me to identify areas for improvement, hold myself accountable for setbacks, and celebrate my achievements. By doing this, I remain focused on the larger vision I have for my career and the impact I want to make in the lives of others.
My ambition is to continue supporting women in business by eventually launching my own organization dedicated to providing mentorship, training, and resources to women from underrepresented communities. I believe that when women support each other and hold one another accountable, we can achieve incredible things. By fostering environments where women are empowered to take ownership of their goals, we collectively uplift and advance as a group.
Overall, accountability has been a key driver of my success, from my academic achievements to my leadership roles. I am committed to using my experiences to continue supporting the success of other women, and I am deeply passionate about creating a future where every woman has the tools and support she needs to succeed. I am honored to apply for the Harvest Goal Collective Scholarship, as it aligns with my personal mission of advancing the collective success of women.
Future Leaders Scholarship
Leading with Purpose and Passion
Leadership is not merely about guiding others but also about inspiring change and overcoming challenges to create a meaningful impact. One of the most significant demonstrations of my leadership occurred during my tenure as Founder and President of the UWSP Women in Business club, where I faced the dual challenge of revitalizing the organization while navigating the complexities of a shifting academic environment.
When I assumed the role, the club was struggling with declining membership and engagement. Recognizing the need for a strategic overhaul, I spearheaded a comprehensive revitalization plan. My first challenge was to assess the needs and expectations of our members, which involved conducting surveys and hosting focus groups. This process revealed that members desired more practical, hands-on experiences that connected them with real-world business scenarios.
To address this, I implemented a series of initiatives designed to enhance the club’s value proposition. We introduced workshops led by industry professionals, organized networking events with local businesses, and launched mentorship programs that paired students with experienced leaders. Additionally, I worked closely with the university administration to secure funding for these activities, demonstrating the importance of resource management in achieving our goals.
One significant challenge was overcoming resistance to change from some long-time members who were accustomed to the club’s previous structure. To address this, I organized open forums to discuss the changes and actively sought feedback, ensuring that everyone felt heard and valued. By fostering an environment of transparency and collaboration, I was able to build consensus and drive the necessary changes.
The impact of these efforts was transformative. Membership numbers increased by 40% within the first semester, and engagement in our events and programs saw a significant boost. The club’s renewed vitality was reflected in the success stories of our members, who reported feeling more connected and empowered in their professional journeys. This experience underscored the importance of adaptive leadership, empathy, and strategic vision in driving organizational success.
Looking ahead, I plan to apply these leadership skills to my future career in business management. My goal is to create and manage programs that address critical social issues, such as mental health and educational inequality. I envision leading initiatives that not only provide direct support to underserved communities but also advocate for systemic changes that enhance overall well-being and opportunity.
In particular, I am passionate about using data-driven approaches to identify community needs and develop targeted interventions. By leveraging my skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and resource allocation, I aim to design and implement programs that have a lasting, positive impact. My experience in leading a diverse team and navigating complex challenges will be invaluable as I work to foster inclusive and effective solutions in the public sector.
Overall, the leadership experience I gained from revitalizing the UWSP Women in Business club has profoundly shaped my approach to driving change and making a difference. The challenges I faced taught me the value of resilience, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. As I continue my academic and professional journey, I am committed to applying these skills to create meaningful, impactful solutions that address the pressing needs of our communities. This scholarship will support my efforts to further my education and enhance my ability to lead with purpose and passion in the future.
Healing Self and Community Scholarship
Mental health care is a critical need, yet its accessibility remains a significant barrier, particularly for BIPOC communities. To address this, I propose a community-based initiative that leverages both technology and peer support to make mental health resources more affordable and accessible.
My vision is to develop a digital platform that offers free, culturally competent mental health resources and virtual peer support groups. This platform would include accessible therapy resources, such as guided meditations and educational workshops, tailored to the unique needs of diverse communities. Additionally, it would connect users with trained peer support specialists who understand their cultural and personal experiences. By harnessing technology, we can overcome financial barriers and reduce stigma, creating a more inclusive environment where mental health support is within reach for all.
This initiative aligns with my passion for public service and advocacy, aiming to bridge gaps in mental health care and empower individuals to thrive. By focusing on affordability and accessibility, we can create a supportive network that addresses mental health challenges and promotes overall well-being for underserved communities.
Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Mental health is a cornerstone of overall well-being, influencing every facet of our lives, from academic performance to personal relationships. As a college student balancing rigorous coursework, work commitments, and extracurricular activities, I have come to understand that maintaining mental wellness is not just a matter of personal comfort, but a crucial component of academic and personal success. My journey has highlighted the importance of mental health, and I am committed to both nurturing my own well-being and advocating for mental health awareness within my community.
In college, the transition to new environments and the pressure to excel academically can often exacerbate feelings of anxiety and overwhelm. For me, this was especially evident when I started my MBA program while working part-time and actively engaging in community projects. The demands were high, and the stakes felt even higher. During these times, I recognized the importance of addressing mental health proactively rather than reactively.
To maintain my mental wellness, I have developed a multifaceted approach that combines self-care, support systems, and resilience-building strategies. One of the key practices I employ is setting aside time for self-care activities that help me recharge and decompress. This includes regular exercise, which not only boosts my physical health but also significantly improves my mood and stress levels. I find that activities like yoga and journaling are particularly effective in managing stress and enhancing my overall sense of well-being.
Additionally, I prioritize building and maintaining strong support networks. I actively engage with friends, family, and mentors who provide emotional support and practical advice. Sharing my experiences and challenges with others not only helps alleviate feelings of isolation but also fosters a sense of community and connection. I also make it a point to seek professional support when needed, whether through counseling services offered by my university or through external mental health resources. Recognizing that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, has been a vital lesson in my journey.
Moreover, I am deeply committed to raising awareness about mental health issues within my community. My involvement with Uplift, a nonprofit supporting women and children in crisis, has given me a platform to advocate for mental health and well-being. Through fundraising events and community outreach, I strive to highlight the importance of mental health and ensure that support resources are accessible to those in need. I am passionate about creating spaces where individuals feel comfortable discussing mental health openly and seeking the help they need without stigma.
The Pettable Mental Health Importance Scholarship is an opportunity to further my commitment to mental health advocacy and continue my education with a focus on public service. By supporting my journey, this scholarship will not only assist in alleviating financial stress but also empower me to contribute more effectively to mental health initiatives. My goal is to integrate mental health awareness into my future career, ensuring that policies and programs address both the immediate and long-term needs of individuals facing mental health challenges.
In conclusion, mental health is integral to our overall success and happiness. By prioritizing self-care, building supportive networks, and advocating for mental health awareness, I strive to lead a balanced and fulfilling life while supporting others in their mental health journeys. This scholarship will enable me to continue my efforts and make a meaningful impact in the field of business management, where I hope to champion mental health and well-being for all.
Endeavor Public Service Scholarship
Public service is often the unsung hero of societal progress, working diligently behind the scenes to create lasting benefits for communities. My passion for public service stems from a deep-seated desire to contribute to the well-being of others, rooted in my experiences and aspirations. As I pursue a career in this field, I am driven by the conviction that meaningful change starts with dedicated individuals who strive to make a difference in their local communities.
Growing up in a single-parent household, I witnessed firsthand the challenges of balancing limited resources with the demands of everyday life. My mother’s resilience and unwavering commitment to our family taught me the importance of support systems and the impact they can have on individuals and communities. This personal background has instilled in me a profound respect for public service workers who tirelessly improve public health, manage sanitation, create government programs, and provide emergency services, often without recognition. Their work is crucial in building a more equitable and functional society, and I am inspired to join their ranks.
My academic journey has been shaped by a commitment to understanding the multifaceted nature of public service. Currently, I am pursuing an MBA in Applied Decision Making & Leadership, where I focus on how strategic management and leadership can enhance public programs and services. This education equips me with the tools to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and lead initiatives that drive positive change. My coursework in management and decision-making is complemented by practical experience gained through my work as a server and involvement in community-focused projects. Balancing work and studies has taught me invaluable lessons in time management, adaptability, and the importance of direct community engagement.
One of my key goals is to apply the skills I acquire from my education to address pressing needs in my local community. I am particularly interested in developing and implementing programs that improve access to resources for underserved populations. For instance, I envision creating initiatives that enhance food security, provide educational opportunities, and support mental health services. By collaborating with local organizations and leveraging data-driven strategies, I plan to design programs that are both effective and sustainable.
Additionally, my experience with Uplift, a nonprofit supporting women and children in crisis, has reinforced my commitment to public service. Through fundraising and project management, I have seen how targeted efforts can make a tangible difference. I aim to bring this hands-on experience into my future career, applying a strategic approach to community development and program management.
Public service is not merely a career choice for me; it is a calling rooted in a desire to give back and contribute to the greater good. I am committed to using my education and experience to drive impactful change in my community, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources and support they need to thrive. This scholarship will not only aid in my academic journey but also bolster my efforts to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all. By integrating my skills and passion into public service, I aspire to be part of the next generation of leaders who drive positive, lasting change in the communities we serve.
Bear Fan Scholarship
"The Bear" has resonated with me as a story of resilience and personal growth. Each character is on a journey, shaped by the intensity of the restaurant business and their personal struggles. As a fan of both compelling narratives and dynamic characters, I envision an ending that brings emotional closure while staying true to the show’s raw authenticity. Each character would find a sense of fulfillment, not through a glossy, idealistic resolution, but through hard-earned personal breakthroughs that reflect the highs and lows of life.
Carmy’s struggle to balance his pursuit of culinary excellence with the emotional toll it takes on him has been at the heart of the series. By the end, I envision Carmy finding a way to redefine success—not just through Michelin stars, but by creating a restaurant that prioritizes both quality food and a healthy work environment. He would learn that leadership doesn’t have to be about sacrificing oneself for the cause but about uplifting his team and fostering a culture where everyone thrives.
Carmy would take steps toward healing from his family trauma, possibly reconnecting with his roots, but not fully resolving every internal conflict—because life rarely allows for clean conclusions. His arc would show that personal growth is a continuous process. His restaurant would be thriving, but more importantly, he would achieve a better balance between his passion for food and his need for mental peace.
Sydney’s ambition and drive have always been palpable, and her growth as a leader throughout the series has been fascinating to watch. In the final chapter, I see Sydney stepping into her own spotlight. She would become a co-owner of the restaurant with Carmy, fully realizing her culinary vision alongside him, but also branching out.
Her character arc would take her to the next level professionally, but more importantly, she would learn the value of collaboration and community in her leadership style. I imagine her mentoring younger chefs, especially women and people of color, helping to break down barriers in the male-dominated industry. Her leadership would be characterized by empathy and empowerment, making her not just a success in the kitchen but also in the way she leads her team.
Richie’s chaotic energy has added complexity to the show, but by the end, I see him coming to terms with his place in the restaurant and in his personal life. After much struggle, Richie would rebuild his relationship with his family, finding peace in his role as a father and friend. His role at the restaurant would shift from being the loose cannon to the steady hand, helping to manage the front of house while keeping the unique culture of the place alive.
Richie’s arc would highlight that redemption is possible, even for those who seem most lost. His storyline would end on a hopeful note, with Richie finding balance between the restaurant, family, and self-worth.
The restaurant itself is as much a character in "The Bear" as any of the people who inhabit it. In the end, it would evolve into more than just a place of business—it would become a true community hub, a space where people gather for incredible food but also for connection. It would reflect the values of its leaders: excellence, inclusivity, and support for both staff and patrons.
On a bittersweet but hopeful note, each character would face their demons and emerge stronger, but not without scars. The series has always thrived on its rawness, and its ending should reflect that truth—offering closure but also acknowledging that life, much like the restaurant business, is messy, complicated, and always in progress.

My work with nonprofits and community groups has taught me that true impact comes from empowering individuals to advocate for themselves and their communities, which is something I aim to integrate into my future business endeavors. These connections represent my commitment to building a business that prioritizes people and their well-being.
Overall, the puzzle I’ve designed reflects the connections I see between business, community, and relationships. Much like in life, success isn’t just about understanding individual pieces but also about recognizing how they fit together. My involvement in business and community work has taught me the importance of combining profit with purpose, leadership with trust, and influence with collaboration. Just as The New York Times' "Connections" puzzles challenge players to uncover the links between words, my experiences have helped me see the interconnectedness of people, relationships, and systems. Through this puzzle, I hope to share my love for problem-solving and demonstrate the power of connections in driving meaningful change.
Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship
Billie Eilish's music has been a guiding force in my life, helping me navigate through challenges, find my voice, and embrace authenticity. Her fearless approach to creativity and her ability to channel vulnerability into powerful lyrics resonate deeply with me. As a Hispanic woman who grew up in a single-parent household, I’ve faced numerous obstacles—financial hardships, emotional stress, and personal loss. Billie's music became a refuge during these times, providing comfort, strength, and a sense of connection. My top three favorite Billie Eilish songs are “everything i wanted,” “Your Power,” and “Happier Than Ever.” Each of these tracks has profoundly impacted me, shaping my journey of self-discovery and resilience.
“everything i wanted” is a song that speaks to my inner struggles, especially as a college student who often feels the weight of expectations and uncertainty. The lyrics, “If I could change the way that you see yourself, you wouldn’t wonder why you hear ‘they don’t deserve you,’” remind me to trust my worth even when I feel overwhelmed. This song came into my life when I was dealing with self-doubt about my future and balancing multiple responsibilities. I found solace in Billie's words, reminding me that even in my darkest moments, I am capable of achieving more than I imagine. The song became an anthem for me, pushing me to pursue my goals with resilience.
Another song that deeply resonates with me is “Your Power.” In this track, Billie explores the complexities of power dynamics and the emotional impact they have on individuals. As a former server in the hospitality industry, I’ve experienced firsthand what it’s like to feel powerless in a professional setting. I’ve faced situations where my voice was dismissed or where I felt exploited because of my position. “Your Power” gave me the courage to speak up about these experiences and inspired me to advocate for myself and others. The song's message about the misuse of power resonates beyond personal experiences—it’s a call to action to demand accountability and stand firm in one's values.
Lastly, “Happier Than Ever” has been transformative for me. This song represents a moment of clarity and empowerment, where Billie breaks free from the emotional burdens she’s been carrying. As someone who often shoulders the weight of family expectations and academic pressure, I relate to the emotional release Billie captures in this song. “Happier Than Ever” inspires me to prioritize my own well-being, set boundaries, and focus on what brings me joy. It's a reminder that my happiness and mental health are worth fighting for, even in the face of external pressures.
Overall, Billie Eilish's music has been a constant source of inspiration, helping me navigate personal challenges while empowering me to be true to myself. Her songs, particularly “everything i wanted,” “Your Power,” and “Happier Than Ever,” have left a lasting impact on my life. Through her music, I’ve learned the importance of self-worth, resilience, and the power of my own voice.
Learner Mental Health Empowerment for Health Students Scholarship
As a student who has faced significant challenges, mental health is not just important to me—it is fundamental to my success, well-being, and future. Growing up in a single-parent household, where financial hardships were a constant reality, I learned early on that emotional resilience was key to persevering. I’ve experienced the profound impacts that stress, anxiety, and trauma can have on one's ability to perform academically and thrive personally. From witnessing a house fire that disrupted my family’s life to balancing the pressures of work, studies, and leadership roles, I’ve learned that mental health cannot be ignored.
As a student, my mental health directly affects my ability to focus, retain information, and stay motivated. College is a time of personal and professional growth, but it can also be overwhelming with academic pressure, financial burdens, and social expectations. These stressors can lead to burnout if not managed effectively. For me, mental health is the foundation that supports everything else. When I am mentally well, I can excel in my studies, lead organizations, and contribute meaningfully to my community. When I neglect my mental health, everything else suffers.
I’ve had personal experiences where I’ve felt the weight of life’s challenges pressing down, and it was through prioritizing mental wellness that I found my strength. For example, after the fire in December 2022, my family faced emotional and financial instability, but I knew that I couldn’t afford to fall apart. I sought out therapy, leaned on my support system, and practiced self-care through meditation and journaling. These steps helped me regain my balance, and I came to realize that maintaining my mental health is not a sign of weakness, but rather an act of empowerment.
My personal experiences have fueled my passion for mental health advocacy in my community. As the President of UWSP Women in Business for two years, I prioritized mental health conversations among my peers. I recognized that many students, particularly women, were dealing with the pressures of academic success, internships, and future career goals without taking time to check in on themselves. I organized workshops on stress management, work-life balance, and self-care, where students could openly discuss their struggles and share strategies for managing their mental health. I worked with campus counseling services to ensure students had access to professional resources.
Beyond the university, my involvement with Uplift, a nonprofit organization that supports women and children in crisis, has allowed me to extend my mental health advocacy to the broader community. In fundraising and project planning, I ensured mental health resources were included in our outreach efforts, emphasizing the importance of emotional support alongside financial and logistical aid.
Mental health is important to me because it enables me to show up as my best self. I advocate for mental health by creating spaces where people can speak openly about their struggles and access the help they need. Whether through leading workshops at school, offering a listening ear to friends, or advocating for mental health resources in my volunteer work, I believe in the power of community support. I strive to be a leader who not only achieves success but also uplifts others by prioritizing well-being, understanding that true success is built on a foundation of mental health.
My journey as a student has shown me that mental health is more than just important—it is essential. It is the backbone of everything I hope to achieve, and I am committed to advocating for its importance in my school, community, and beyond.

Breaking all-time records and leading his team with unparalleled skill and determination, LeBron has consistently demonstrated that greatness is not just about personal achievements but about elevating those around you.

This moment underscores the idea that success is not merely about individual accolades but about fostering the next generation and making a lasting impact. It is this aspect of his career that particularly inspires me as I work towards my own goals in leadership and management.
My admiration for LeBron extends beyond his athletic career. His philanthropic efforts, especially through his LeBron James Family Foundation, have made significant contributions to education and community development. The creation of the "I PROMISE School" in Akron is a remarkable example of how he uses his platform to drive positive change and support underserved communities. This dedication to making a difference aligns closely with my own values and aspirations to influence policies and practices that promote equity and support others in their journeys.
LeBron James is more than just a basketball legend; he is a beacon of ambition, drive, and impact. His journey inspires me to pursue excellence in all areas of my life, to overcome challenges with resilience, and to lead with integrity and purpose. In essence, LeBron James is the epitome of what it means to be a transformative leader, both on and off the court. His legacy is a powerful reminder that greatness is not confined to the accolades one receives but is defined by the positive impact one has on others and the world. This is why I proudly consider LeBron James one of the greatest basketball players of all time and why his story continues to inspire and guide me in my own journey.
Charli XCX brat Fan Scholarship
When Charli XCX released her album "brat," I found not just a collection of songs, but a soundtrack to my journey over the past year. Among the many tracks, “Lightning” stands out as my favorite. This song’s electrifying beats and empowering lyrics have resonated deeply with me, reflecting my personal battles and triumphs.
“Lightning” embodies Charli’s signature boldness, blending high-energy production with introspective lyrics. The chorus—“I’m lightning, I’m unstoppable”—reverberates with my own aspirations and challenges. This line is more than just a catchy hook; it’s a mantra that has guided me through a year of significant personal and academic growth.
In the past year, I’ve faced numerous obstacles that have tested my resilience. Yet, through these challenges, “Lightning” has been a source of motivation and strength.
Charli XCX’s unapologetic attitude in “Lightning” mirrors my own journey. Her ability to transform adversity into empowerment and self-expression has inspired me to embrace my own ambitions with renewed vigor. Like Charli, I’ve learned to channel my energy into my goals, whether it’s leading the Women in Business club at UWSP or co-hosting the Women’s Trailblazers Podcast. Each of these roles has required me to embody the same resilience and confidence that Charli sings about.
The song also highlights the importance of self-empowerment, a lesson I’ve taken to heart. In my pursuit of a leadership role where I can influence policies promoting equity, particularly in education and professional development, I’ve drawn strength from Charli’s fearless approach. Her music encourages me to push boundaries, advocate for others, and never settle for less than my best.

Live Music Lover Scholarship
Music has always been a source of comfort and inspiration in my life. Growing up amidst challenges, music became my constant, a grounding force that connected me to the emotions I often found hard to express. I didn’t come from a family that had the luxury of attending concerts frequently, but when the opportunity arose to see Bruno Major live, it felt like stepping into a new world, one that resonated with my soul. This experience not only reinforced my love for live music but also helped me grow as a person.
At my first concert, the energy was raw, the sounds were unpolished, but the experience was genuine. I remember standing at the edge of the crowd, unsure of how to participate in this new world of live music. I felt a sense of belonging, as if I had found a place where people came together to celebrate their shared love for art and connection. It wasn’t the grandeur of the event that made it special, but the realization that music has the power to unite us all, regardless of background or experience.
The night I saw Bruno Major live, the experience became one of my most cherished memories. Bruno Major's music had been a soundtrack to many quiet moments in my life, moments of reflection, hope, and healing. His lyrics, soulful voice, and minimalistic style spoke to the complexity of emotions I was experiencing, especially as I navigated through life’s adversities. Standing in the audience that night, surrounded by fans who shared my admiration, I felt an overwhelming sense of connection—not just to the music, but to everyone around me.
The crowd swayed together, moved by the intimacy of his voice and the simplicity of his guitar. In that moment, I wasn’t just listening to a performer; I was experiencing the music in a deeply personal way. One particular song, "Easily," echoed in the room, and I found myself thinking about the resilience it takes to pursue one’s dreams, even when life gets hard. It was as if the song was a reminder that it's okay to take life at your own pace, to let things unfold naturally. That night, I left the venue feeling rejuvenated, more certain of my path and more connected to myself.
This concert was not just an escape from reality; it was an affirmation of the importance of following one's passions. Bruno Major's vulnerability on stage encouraged me to continue pushing forward in my personal and professional goals. As a current MBA student pursuing a degree in Applied Decision Making and Leadership, I am determined to create a future where I can inspire and uplift others, much like how Bruno Major's music has uplifted me. The impact of live music is profound, and I’ve carried the memory of that concert with me as a source of motivation during my academic journey.
Live music, in its purest form, is about connection—to the performer, to the audience, and most importantly, to ourselves. Attending concerts isn’t just about entertainment; it’s about experiencing moments that remind us of the beauty of shared human experiences. My experience at Bruno Major's concert solidified my belief that music has the power to transcend barriers, ignite ambition, and bring people together in ways that nothing else can.
As I continue my journey in higher education, I carry with me the lessons learned through live music—the importance of staying true to oneself, the value of persistence, and the belief that we are all connected in our pursuit of dreams. I hope to inspire others in the same way music has inspired me.

#BookTok has profoundly impacted my reading journey, introducing me to a diverse range of books that have expanded my understanding of life, love, and the human experience. The community’s passion for storytelling has guided me toward books that not only entertain but also challenge and inspire. My ideal bookshelf, shaped by #BookTok, is a collection of stories that resonate deeply with both me and the broader community.
The first book on my shelf is Madeline Miller’s The Song of Achilles. This retelling of the Greek myth of Achilles and Patroclus is a favorite on #BookTok for its poignant exploration of love, friendship, and fate. The narrative, delivered in lyrical prose, humanizes these mythological figures, making their story relatable and emotionally impactful. The tragic beauty of their relationship has sparked countless discussions and fan art within the community. For me, this book redefined the concept of love, emphasizing its capacity for both joy and sorrow.
Next is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. This novel captivated the #BookTok community with its compelling portrayal of a fictional Hollywood star’s life. Evelyn Hugo’s journey through fame, love, and identity, and the sacrifices she makes along the way, are themes that deeply resonated with me. The book’s exploration of complex, flawed characters and its ability to intertwine personal and social issues made it a must-read. The #BookTok discussions around this book often center on its exploration of ambition, identity, and the cost of fame, all of which made me reflect on the choices we make in pursuit of our dreams.
V.E. Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is another essential addition to my bookshelf. This book captured the imagination of #BookTok with its unique premise—a woman cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets—and its exploration of what it means to leave a mark on the world. The writing is almost magical, drawing readers into Addie’s world and making her struggles feel deeply personal. The theme of yearning for a legacy, of wanting to be remembered, is something that resonated not only with me but with the entire #BookTok community. The discussions around this book, from its emotional impact to the aesthetics inspired by Addie’s story, highlight its lasting influence.
Another influential read is It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover. This book has become a significant talking point on #BookTok, particularly for its sensitive handling of domestic abuse. Hoover’s portrayal of deeply flawed yet relatable characters draws readers into a narrative that is both heartbreaking and empowering. The #BookTok community has embraced this book, using it as a platform to discuss personal experiences and raise awareness about domestic violence. For me, this book was a powerful reminder of the strength it takes to break the cycle of abuse and the importance of self-love and resilience.
Finally, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. This fantasy series has become a sensation within the community, and the blend of romance and adventure. The series’ exploration of themes like survival, transformation, and finding strength in unexpected places has resonated deeply with me and countless others. The discussions, fan theories, and creative content inspired by this series on #BookTok are a testament to its enduring impact.
In conclusion, my #BookTok-inspired bookshelf is more than just a collection of books—it’s a reflection of the community that has influenced and shaped my reading journey. Through #BookTok, I’ve discovered that literature is not just about the stories we read, but about the conversations they spark and the bonds they create.
Love Island Fan Scholarship
Love Island Challenge: “Heart Strings”
As a devoted fan of Love Island, I've always been captivated by the challenges that test not only the contestants' physical abilities but also their emotional connections. Inspired by the show's blend of romance, drama, and excitement, I’ve created a challenge that will bring out the best (and perhaps the worst) in the islanders: the “Heart Strings” challenge.
Objective:
The “Heart Strings” challenge is designed to test the strength of the couples' emotional connections and communication skills. It’s a high-stakes challenge where trust, honesty, and vulnerability are key to success.
The Setup:
The challenge begins with all couples being separated and placed in individual soundproof booths. Each islander will be equipped with a heart monitor that tracks their heart rate in real-time. The partners will not be able to see or hear each other, but they’ll know that their partner is going through the same experience simultaneously.
The Rules:
Personal Questions: Each islander will be asked a series of personal questions about their relationship, ranging from light-hearted topics like their favorite memory together to deeper questions about their fears, insecurities, and feelings toward their partner. The questions are designed to evoke an emotional response, whether it’s joy, fear, or even jealousy.
Heart Rate Monitoring: As the questions are asked, the islanders’ heart rates will be closely monitored. The goal is to keep their heart rate as steady as possible, showing that they can remain calm and composed even when discussing potentially triggering or emotional topics. If their heart rate spikes above a certain threshold, they’ll lose points.
Guessing Game: After answering the questions, the islanders will reunite with their partners. The next phase of the challenge involves guessing how their partner responded to the same set of questions. For example, if one of the questions was “What’s your biggest fear in this relationship?” the islander must guess how their partner answered.
Emotional Synchronization: To add a twist, points will be awarded not just for correct answers but also for how closely their heart rates matched during the questioning. If both partners’ heart rates spiked at the same time, it could indicate a deep emotional connection or shared concerns, earning them bonus points.
The Twist:
Just when the islanders think the challenge is over, there’s a final twist. They’ll be given one last question that they must answer together, but this time they’re allowed to discuss it openly. The question will be something significant, such as “What do you see as the biggest obstacle for us as a couple?” The way they navigate this conversation will be the ultimate test of their communication and emotional intelligence.
The Outcome:
The couple with the highest score—determined by their ability to stay calm, correctly guess each other’s responses, and emotionally synchronize—will win a romantic date in a secluded, picturesque location on the island. However, the couple with the lowest score will face a public vote where the other islanders decide whether they should stay in the villa or be sent home.
Why It Works:
The “Heart Strings” challenge is designed to tap into the core of what makes Love Island so addictive: the exploration of romantic relationships under pressure. By focusing on emotional connection rather than just physical or mental challenges, this challenge adds a layer of depth to the show, allowing viewers to see the genuine bonds—or cracks—between couples.
This challenge would not only provide drama and excitement but also deepen the emotional narrative of the show, making it a must-watch episode for fans.

“The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
WinnerMichael Scott’s quote, “Sometimes I'll start a sentence, and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way,” perfectly encapsulates the unpredictable charm of The Office. For me, this sentiment mirrors the spontaneity and sometimes chaotic essence of life and ambition. Among the colorful characters of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch, Jim Halpert stands out as the one I resonate with most, embodying a blend of wit, introspection, and a unique perspective on workplace dynamics.
Jim Halpert’s character is a masterclass in understated humor and subtle rebellion. His deadpan delivery, clever pranks on Dwight Schrute, and the way he navigates the monotony of office life with a mixture of patience and cleverness often reflect my own approach to both work and life. As a student pursuing an MBA while juggling multiple responsibilities, I find myself embracing Jim’s ability to stay grounded and find levity even in challenging situations.
In many ways, Jim’s pranks on Dwight are more than just comedic relief. They symbolize the importance of finding joy in the everyday grind and using humor as a coping mechanism. Much like Jim, I have learned to approach obstacles with a sense of humor and creativity. When faced with demanding projects or tight deadlines, I’ve adopted Jim’s strategy of injecting light-heartedness into my work. This not only makes the tasks more manageable but also fosters a positive environment for collaboration.
Jim’s relationship with Pam also resonates deeply with me. Their journey from colleagues to life partners illustrates the beauty of genuine connections in the workplace. In my own experiences, I’ve seen how authentic relationships can enhance teamwork and contribute to personal growth. Jim’s respectful and supportive nature serves as a reminder of the value of kindness and understanding in any professional setting.
The show's depiction of workplace dynamics has profoundly shaped my perspective. The Office highlights the significance of creating a balanced environment where humor and professionalism coexist. It has taught me that while it’s essential to approach work with dedication, it's equally important to maintain a sense of humor and not take oneself too seriously. This balance is crucial in navigating the pressures of both academic and professional life.
Ultimately, Jim Halpert’s character embodies a relatable and insightful approach to managing both work and personal life. His blend of humor, cleverness, and authenticity has influenced my own approach to handling challenges and building meaningful relationships. The Office has provided a valuable lens through which I view my own ambitions, reminding me that even in the most routine settings, it’s possible to find moments of joy, connection, and personal growth.
In essence, Jim Halpert represents the ideal balance between professionalism and humor, a balance I strive to maintain as I continue to navigate my academic and career aspirations. Through Jim’s example, I have learned to appreciate the small victories, maintain a sense of humor, and value the importance of genuine connections, all of which are integral to both personal and professional success.
Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
From the seemingly infinite landscapes to the buzzing mobs at night, Minecraft is a game that has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions. The "Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship" perfectly celebrates this blocky universe, and I am thrilled to share my own journey within its pixelated expanse.
The moment I first spawned in a new world, surrounded by lush green hills and towering mountains, I knew I was embarking on an extraordinary adventure. The exhilaration of surviving my first night, huddled in a makeshift dirt shelter, is a memory that still brings a smile to my face. Minecraft, for me, is more than just a game; it's a sandbox of possibilities, a canvas for creativity, and a platform for unbounded exploration.
My favorite aspect of Minecraft is the boundless creativity it inspires. The pride I felt constructing my very first redstone machine, a simple but efficient automatic farm, was unparalleled. Redstone, with its intricate logic and endless potential, has become my favorite element of the game. It allows me to channel my inner engineer, solving complex problems and creating innovative solutions. Each project, whether it’s a hidden door, a functioning elevator, or a massive automated farm, is a testament to the power of imagination and ingenuity.
But the beauty of Minecraft lies not just in its technical challenges but in its ability to foster collaboration and community. The thrill of exploring the End and battling the Ender Dragon with friends is an experience that transcends the screen. It’s a journey of teamwork, strategy, and shared triumphs. The camaraderie built in these virtual worlds translates to real-life friendships, proving that Minecraft is more than just blocks and pixels—it’s a bridge connecting people across the globe.
One of my most memorable experiences in Minecraft was the creation of a sprawling medieval city with a group of friends. Each of us took on different roles—architect, builder, farmer, and guard—working together to bring our vision to life. The city, complete with towering castles, bustling marketplaces, and serene gardens, was a labor of love that spanned months. It wasn’t just the final structure that mattered, but the countless hours spent planning, building, and laughing together. This project taught me the value of teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of seeing a shared dream come to fruition.
Minecraft’s impact on my life extends beyond the game itself. It has taught me valuable skills in problem-solving, project management, and creative thinking. The lessons learned in this virtual world have influenced my academic pursuits and career aspirations, driving me to approach challenges with a blend of logic and creativity.
Overall, Minecraft is a testament to the limitless potential of imagination. Its ability to inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and build communities makes it a game like no other. For me, it’s a source of joy, a creative outlet, and a platform for unforgettable adventures. Whether it’s constructing intricate redstone machines or embarking on epic quests with friends, Minecraft has left an indelible mark on my life, proving that in this blocky universe, the only limit is the sky.

Norton Scholarship
The concept of "my truth" has become increasingly prevalent in today's society, emphasizing personal experiences and individual perspectives. While understanding and valuing personal truths is important, it is essential to distinguish between our truth, God's truth, and the truth of the Bible, especially as we seek to develop a deeper and more personal relationship with God.
Our truth, as commonly understood, refers to our personal experiences, feelings, and perceptions. It is shaped by our background, culture, and individual journey. For example, growing up in a low-income, single-parent household, my truth includes the struggles and perseverance that have defined my path. These experiences have taught me valuable lessons about resilience and the importance of community, but they are inherently subjective and unique to my life.
In contrast, God's truth is absolute and unchanging. It transcends individual experiences and cultural contexts. According to Psalm 119:160 (NIV), "All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal." God's truth is not influenced by our personal circumstances or societal changes. It remains constant, providing a foundation upon which we can build our faith and understanding. God's truth is revealed through the Bible, His inspired word, which serves as a guide for living a life that aligns with His will.
The truth of the Bible, therefore, encompasses God's truth as communicated through scripture. It is a reflection of His nature, His promises, and His commandments. The Bible offers timeless wisdom and guidance, applicable to all believers regardless of their individual circumstances. In John 17:17 (NIV), Jesus prays, "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth." This emphasizes the Bible's role as the ultimate source of truth for Christians.
As I have navigated my own faith journey, I have come to understand the importance of seeking God's truth through the Bible. One particular scripture that resonates with me is Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse has been a source of comfort and encouragement, reminding me that God's truth includes His promises of hope and purpose for my life.
In my role as President of UWSP Women in Business and Chair of the Uplift NextGen Advisory Council, I have sought to embody the principles of God's truth by empowering others and fostering a sense of community. These leadership experiences have reinforced the importance of aligning my actions with biblical teachings, such as serving others with humility and love (Philippians 2:3-4, NIV).
To truly understand and live out God's truth, it is crucial to engage with the Bible on a personal level. This means not only reading scripture but also reflecting on its meaning and application in our lives. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) advises, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." This underscores the importance of relying on God's wisdom rather than solely on our own perspectives.
Overall, while our truth is shaped by our individual experiences, God's truth and the truth of the Bible provide an unchanging foundation for our faith. This scholarship would support my ongoing journey to develop a more personal and authentic relationship with God, enabling me to continue making a positive impact in my community while living out the principles of my faith. I am honored to apply for this scholarship and to pursue a deeper understanding of God's truth in my life.

Education has been my beacon, guiding me through the darkest of times and illuminating a path toward a future brimming with promise. As a Hispanic woman, I've known firsthand the hurdles that come with limited access to education in communities plagued by poverty and inequality. Yet, I refused to let these barriers define me. Instead, I seized upon education as my ticket to liberation – a means to break free from the constraints of circumstance and forge a brighter tomorrow not just for myself, but for my family and community.
My journey through academia has been a testament to my resilience, determination, and unyielding pursuit of excellence. Currently pursuing majors in Business Administration and Management at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, I've immersed myself in a rigorous academic curriculum, balancing coursework with active involvement in extracurricular activities and community outreach. Despite facing adversity, including the devastating loss of our family home in a fire just last December, my commitment to academic excellence remains unwavering, reflected in my GPA average of 3.4 and status as an Honors Student.
But my journey doesn't end within the confines of lecture halls and textbooks. It extends far beyond, into the realm of leadership and service. As the Founder and President of UWSP Women in Business, I've spearheaded initiatives aimed at empowering female professionals and fostering inclusivity within the business world. Through strategic workshops, events, and mentorship programs, I've worked tirelessly to provide support and resources to aspiring women leaders, breaking down barriers and paving the way for their success.
In addition to my work with UWSP Women in Business, I've also served as the Chair of the Uplift Foundation: NextGen Advisory Council. Here, I've overseen the development and implementation of strategic plans aimed at driving long-term impact and change within our organization and the wider community. Through my role on the Sentry School of Business and Economics Advisory Council, I've leveraged my network and industry knowledge to forge partnerships and collaborations that benefit students and stakeholders alike.
My journey through education has not only been about academic achievements but also about personal growth and fulfillment. Through education, I've cultivated resilience, determination, and purpose – qualities that have not only propelled me forward in my studies but have also equipped me to confront life's challenges with grace and confidence.
Education has been the cornerstone of my journey toward leadership and service. It has empowered me to transcend limitations, embrace challenges, and pursue my passions with unwavering determination. As I continue on this journey, I am deeply grateful for the transformative power of education and the opportunities it has afforded me to make a meaningful difference in the world. Yet, as I stand on the threshold of my future, I recognize the financial strain that often accompanies educational pursuits. Thus, this scholarship represents not just a monetary aid but a lifeline – a means to continue my journey toward academic excellence and service, while also alleviating the burden of financial need. With this scholarship, I am confident that I can continue to pursue my dreams and make a lasting impact, not just for myself, but for those who come after me.
1989 (Taylor's Version) Fan Scholarship
In the aftermath of a devastating house fire that cast a shadow on my family's stability, my life unfolded into a symphony of resilience, leadership, and community service. Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) emerged as the melodic thread weaving through the fabric of my experiences, each track resonating with the challenges and triumphs that defined my transformative journey.
The overture to this narrative is set by "Welcome to New York," a song that epitomizes the genesis of my transformative year. Much like a newcomer navigating the intricacies of an unfamiliar city, I found myself traversing the complexities of rebuilding after the fire. Swift's anthem became my personal rallying cry, encapsulating the spirit of embarking on a new beginning with unwavering optimism and determination. The song's vibrant energy mirrored my own commitment to turning adversity into an opportunity for growth.
Amidst the ashes of personal turmoil, I assumed a pivotal role as the Chair of Uplift's NextGen Advisory Board. "Wildest Dreams" serves as an evocative soundtrack to this phase, encapsulating the dreams of the women and children we aim to uplift—dreams that often feel distant and unattainable. As a leader, my mission extended beyond mere aspirations; I tirelessly worked to translate these dreams into tangible outcomes. The initiatives orchestrated under my leadership became transformative melodies, resonating with hope in the face of hardships.
The inception of the UWSP Women in Business club echoes the empowering notes of "Out of the Woods." Like Swift's introspective exploration of uncertainties in relationships, I navigated uncharted territory, founding a club dedicated to promoting equity and inclusivity in the business realm. The lyrics of the song resonated with the mission of the club, capturing the essence of emerging from uncertainty into a space of clarity and empowerment. The club, much like the song, became a beacon of resilience and unity, fostering an environment where underrepresented individuals could thrive.
As the symphony of my year unfolded, it took a poignant turn with "All You Had To Do Was Stay," a song that reflected the challenges faced by those I aimed to uplift. It served as a poignant reminder that commitment requires steadfastness, mirroring the unyielding loyalty required in leadership. Remaining true to my promise involved weathering storms and being a consistent presence for those in need. The song became a poignant reminder of the responsibility that accompanies leadership, a testament to the enduring commitment required to make a meaningful impact.
In conclusion, the symphony of my year, underscored by the resonant chords of 1989 (Taylor's Version), narrates a tale of resilience, leadership, and service. The soundtrack encapsulates the highs and lows of overcoming personal adversity, leading with compassion, and fostering inclusive spaces. Each track serves as a poignant chapter in my transformative journey, illustrating the power of music to reflect and inspire meaningful action. The harmonious interplay of challenges and accomplishments, as depicted by the chosen songs, forms the heart of a narrative that speaks to the strength found in adversity and the transformative power of leadership and service.
