My passion stems from both the technological and fitness realms. Both are very different alone, but when combined can create something great, capable of changing the lives of many. I plan on starting that revolution, whether it be from fitness-related app development or machinery that can ease fitness for those less fortunate.

Darryl Davis "Follow Your Heart" Scholarship
Throughout my childhood, I read about and heard of the famous entrepreneurs we look up to today: Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc. I knew I wanted to be like them and change aspects of our lives for the better, but I had no idea in the slightest what it would take. A few years later, I found myself reading "The Accidental Billionaires, The Founding of Facebook." The book taught me a whole lot about Mark Zuckerberg and his key to success. Most importantly, I learned that in today's day and age, if I want to make a change in this world, it has to involve the technological realm. From that moment onward, I vowed to challenge myself by learning the incredibly difficult field of study known as Computer Science.
As stated before, my goal is to change the world, specifically by helping raise people's views of their own self-worth. Mental health is viewed as one of the most important topics that aren't nearly as talked about nowadays. The motto I live by is to "be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday." I believe that if people realize that they are bettering themselves each day, their mental health and self-esteem will increase. My goal after graduation isn't to get a job right away but to develop an app that has the capability of helping improve oneself to have them feel better about themself. I plan on incorporating many topics into this app, including fitness, health, beauty, goals, finances, etc. I believe that we lose too many people that could also potentially change the world. I plan on ensuring this doesn't happen anymore through the creation of my app.
I believe that I am the best candidate for this scholarship for one sole reason. I don't expect to make any money through this app. I only want to help change the troublesome emotions felt by those who don't feel worthy. As a college student, financing an app after graduating without any money is incredibly difficult, especially because I don't plan on handling the design but rather focus purely on the coding involved. I also don't plan on applying to an occupation until my goal is met because I can't waste any time. The faster I get started, the more people I can help through this app. Regardless, whatever happens to me financially, I won't mind. Knowing that I put my all into helping change the world surpasses any feeling that money can provide.
"Wise Words" Scholarship
"If you weren't embarrassed by yourself last year, you aren't growing". The quote I have just shared is what keeps me motivated during times when hardship is upon me. Throughout my time reminiscing about the past, I've learned that no matter what I've been through, how many times I've failed, and how much more I have yet to accomplish, I am still growing as a person. The mere fact that I can fail and yet succeed at the same time proves that life hands out prizes for those who challenge themselves. Looking at past memories of myself, all I can do is wonder "Did I really do that", and "No way that was me". All those memories of my past actions show that I am different from who I was, and that I have grown into a much more developed person. I am proud of who I have become and nonetheless, I still believe that I will be embarrassed of who I am today by next year. The moment this cycle comes to an end is the moment where I have failed in my own personal development.
