Bio

I am a classical cellist looking to make an impact in the world. There aren't many hispanic cellists in the field and I wish to inspire others to do the things that make them happy.

As a child growing up in a low income household, it was hard to see myself being able to pursue my instrument. My mother couldn't afford lessons and she could barely afford to rent the cello I was using for school. I struggled being the only one who fell behind because all my peers could afford private lessons and private groups outside of school. I went through school thinking I would never be able to attend college doing the thing I loved the most due to the fact that I did not have the resources to advance at the level of my peers. Fast-forward to now and I am better than I ever thought I could be. I am getting better every single day and I can dream about getting my masters at places I didn't even think I could get into before. My dream is to show others that even when the odds are against you, you can still pull through. Even if you are ridiculed for not being able to keep up, you can still make it. One day I want to be as impactful as Yo-Yo Ma or Jacqueline du Pre and show the many young girls who come from low income households that despite all that stands in your way, you can do it.
