I have developed skills through leadership and volunteer experience, such as organizing community events and managing teams of volunteers are practical for the workforce. I am a motivated student with leadership and volunteer experience who gets the job done as quickly as possible. I have great time management skills, I am very organized, I have great responsibility, I can communicate well with others, and I am a strong writer. I get motivated to lead and volunteer because I like to think that I'm making a change in someone's life by helping out and being a leader. When I am assigned a task, get it done as soon as possible. This skill is shown in my academics as I rarely procrastinate in school and homework tasks. I reward myself with breaks every time I get a task done which motivates me more when getting things done. I display time management skills and organization by making a planner and tasks I have to do for the day. I put what's most priority first on the list so I could do the task first. I'm responsible for being the President of FBLA, secretary of Key Club, member of the National Honor Society and TRIO Upward Bound, and being academically sufficient. Having that much responsibility is something I can handle and if I feel overwhelmed, I take breaks to continue doing the jobs I'm responsible for. I communicate well with others by collaborating with people on club projects, classwork, or community service projects. I communicate by speaking and listening to people when they speak to me. I think being a good communicator is important to maintain strong relationships and helps you accomplish tasks. I’m a sufficient writer because, in the course of my 9-11th grade year, I was in the College Board Capstone Program. I attained the AP Seminar and Research Certificate which means I scored a 3 or higher in AP Seminar and Research. With that experience in my high school years, I gained confidence in my writing abilities and could complete any task that required writing. Whether it's essays, emails, or projects, I could convey my ideas sufficiently by writing them. I want to share what I gain with people and students so that I can make a difference in their community. I want to also share the skills I already possess so I can impact the community. I want to inspire the next generation of leaders who are black Haitian-American first-generation college students. Having a career in finance like becoming an investment banker would benefit me with a lot of opportunities that I never experienced before.
