I am a Senior this year at Willis High School. I took 4 DC courses in my Junior year and I am going to take 3 more my Senior year, along with a Pharmacy Practicum. At the end of the school year, I will take a test and when I pass, I will receive my Pharmacy Technician License. Along with keeping straight A's in all of my classes, I also participate in many other activities including Varsity Mixed Choir, Varsity Swim Team, HOSA, Student Council, and National Honors Society. To further my education, I am looking at completing a four-year degree to get my PharmD. I am extremely excited to grow both my education and my skills and excel at being a pharmacist.
On a less serious note, I enjoy volunteering. I volunteer around 6 hours a week at the American Legion supporting veterans by serving food and providing entertainment.
I am truly interested in giving back to the community in addition to getting my degree. Right now I am researching multiple solutions to the world's top issues including, homelessness/overpopulation, food insecurity, and environmental destruction. I have come up with some really cool and beneficial solutions to these issues that can cause the severity to decrease immensely.
If I can give back to my community I am going to do it and I am looking forward to being able to help more by being a pharmacist.

In the intricate fabric of my life, I have placed a strong emphasis on nurturing and building personal character. I believe that true success goes beyond external achievements. With this understanding, I have actively engaged in activities to develop qualities such as integrity, resilience, empathy, and self-discipline. These effects have played a pivotal role in shaping me into the person I am today.
During my freshman year of high school in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic was discovered and began impacting our daily lives. Businesses were shutting down, hospitals were overflowing with people, and pharmacies were running out of stock. There was a huge struggle to get adequate healthcare during this time, and it really opened my eyes. I found I was reading a lot of articles and watching a lot of news programs during this time to inform me about what was happening around the world. While the pandemic was a horrible event, it drew my eye to the medical field.
During the pandemic, I thought about my grandfather, who lives in a rural area. He is handicapped from an accident before I was born and requires medical attention and medications that are not readily available in his immediate area. My grandparents did not have options to get health services near them or medications sent to their home. The small local pharmacies may not be open or have the appropriate medications he requires. That should never be the case. People should be able to get medications whenever they need them. Living through the experience of the pandemic and how it impacted my family helped to make me decide that I want to work in the healthcare field and that is why I want to work in locations that have limited pharmacies.
When I found my high school's Pharmacy Technician Program, I worked with my counselor to identify the courses that I would need to work toward this pathway. I took classes such as medical terminology, biology, principles of health science, and principles of health science theory and clinic. During my sophomore, junior, and senior years, I became a member/Vice President of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). At the end of my junior year, I had to apply to be admitted into the Pharmacy Technician class and I was accepted. I graduated with my Pharmacy Technician License. This license will help me start learning and gaining experience in a rural pharmacy. These experiences will be needed for me to ultimately become a pharmacist.
In the Fall of 2024, I will attend the University of Arizona and receive my PharmD to become a pharmacist at a hospital. I would like to work my way up from a rural pharmacy to a hospital. I also have future plans to become a Director of Pharmacy, who orders the medications, maintains stock, and organizes the hospital system. While I know that this will be a lot of hard work, I am excited about the transition from high school to working toward my goal.
The tapestry of my character is composed of leadership roles, extracurricular engagements, community service, academic achievements, and personal growth. Through these diverse endeavors, I have developed valuable skills, made meaningful connections, and left a positive impact on my community. Embracing a wide range of activities has allowed me to become a well-rounded individual, poised to continue exploring new horizons and making a difference in the world. As I continue my journey, I am excited to contribute to new experiences leaving an indelible mark on the world around me.

I found I was reading a bunch of articles and watching a lot of news programs to inform me about what was happening around the world.
Living through the experience of the pandemic and how it impacted my family helped to make me decide that I want to work in the healthcare field.
Willis High School has a program where high school students can take courses and complete clinical hours to earn their Pharmacy Technician License. When I found this program I worked with my counselor to identify the courses that I would need to work toward this pathway. I took many classes to help me get into the health profession. During my sophomore, junior, and senior years, I became a member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and I am now Vice President. At the end of my junior year, I had to apply to be admitted into the Pharmacy Technician class and I was accepted. At the conclusion of this school year, I will graduate with my Pharmacy Technician license. This license will be helpful for me to start gaining experience in a rural pharmacy. These experiences will be needed for me to ultimately become a pharmacist.
In the Fall of 2024, I plan on going to college to complete my prerequisites. Then I will go for my PharmD to become a pharmacist at a hospital. I want to work my way up from a rural pharmacy to a hospital pharmacy. I also, have future plans to become a Director of Pharmacy, who orders medications, maintains stock, and organizes the hospital system.

The one and only Nemo Garden. Many people have heard about rooftop gardens and plants on the side of the building, but what about farming in the ocean? Today worldwide food insecurity is one of the top issues and concerns. To make the world a better place let's remove that insecurity altogether. Now you are probably thinking how on Earth do you plan on removing that insecurity? I plan on slowly removing that insecurity.
The Nemo Garden is a small farm that connects to the sea floor. It has a ventilation system that pumps and regulates the gases in the air chamber. That way the plants have the right amount of carbon dioxide and other gases needed to thrive. Would it be too dark for plants to grow on the bottom of the ocean? No, plants have the proper amount of light as they are located right off the coast and only located a couple of feet under the water so the plants can still get the amount of light needed to grow and thrive.
By creating many of these gardens located right off the coast much more food can be grown. With more food being grown we can transition from farms on land to only these gardens in the water. This would open up more land for people to live in as we see many areas of overpopulation, so this area could be used as overflow. Lastly, this will also be beneficial for the mass amount of unemployment rates that have grown since COVID-19. There would be job opportunities to go down and take care of the plants, harvest the plants, and transport the plants not only to local markets but also to locations of high poverty.
I can see the Nemo Garden becoming a revolutionary creation that solves multiple of the world's biggest issues and benefits so many people's lives, therefore I believe that this new technology needs more funding, more support, and more recognition to make the world a better place.

I am a member of the student council at my high school, and I am on the energy and environment committee. In this committee, we advocate for the environment and try to keep the school as clean as possible. With this committee, we have placed multiple recycling cans around the school as there are none located in the classrooms. Another thing our committee is responsible for is establishing dates for trash clean-ups and participating in the trash clean-ups. We clean up trash that is found around the school and other local areas 6 times throughout the school year. Then at the end of the trash clean up we take pictures and post them to get the word out and put the next clean-up date and location with it so more people can come out and help clean up the environment.
On my flag I would leave the message: Do not listen too intently to the voices of others as they will never understand your unique circumstance.
In a world where opinions flood our lives, it is crucial to remember a profound truth: do not listen too intently to the voices of others. They lack the omniscience required to understand the intricacies and complexities of your unique circumstances. Often, their words can be laced with cruelty, born out of ignorance or personal biases. Yet, as we shield ourselves from the influence of others, we must also resist the urge to judge.
However, there is a powerful antidote to the destructive cycle of judgment: empathy. By cultivating empathy, we foster a genuine understanding of the diverse tapestry of human existence. It prompts us to recognize that every person we encounter is navigating a labyrinth of experiences, triumphs, and hardships. Through empathy, we embrace the richness of our shared humanity, transcending the limitations of individual perspectives.
I implore you: to release the shackles of judgment and choose to see the beauty in our shared human experience. Let empathy be our guiding light, illuminating the path toward a more compassionate and understanding world. When we offer empathy to others, we break free from the confines of preconceived notions and biases. We create spaces where genuine connection thrives, and where acceptance and kindness prevail.
In embracing empathy and rejecting judgment, we forge a society that celebrates our differences, embraces our vulnerabilities, and uplifts one another. Together, let us weave a tapestry of compassion and understanding, transforming our world into a sanctuary of empathy where the bonds of humanity are cherished and nurtured.
Learner Education Women in Mathematics Scholarship
Math has always fascinated me, it has always been the easiest subject in school for me. My second-grade teacher used to have an activity where she would give us one-digit numbers and have us multiply them. I was always the first to shoot up my hand and my teacher would always call on me. She looked at me and said pretty soon you will be able to do bigger multiplication in your head but for now I'm going to give you two three-digit numbers to multiply and I want you to solve it on your paper. She then gave us the three numbers, and it took me a second, but without using the paper I replied with the answer. The teacher then checked her answer sheet and said that I was right. The teacher then asked our student teacher to take me to the front office, where I had to talk to one of the people and they arranged for me to take a test. Once I passed that test, I was moved into the gifted program, this is where I made a bunch of my friends and decided I wanted to defy all odds.
I continued to push myself and I began doing math that was grade levels ahead of me. I loved how there was always one definitive answer, unlike English which I loved. I continued pushing myself in math and trying to better understand how it always adds up to one answer. I learned a lot of the rules and it helped me connect that with the world. In math, you have to follow the order of operations in order to get the proper answer, whereas out in the world, the same concept applies. It's just like getting a driver's license where you have to go through the online class, take a test, make an appointment to get your permit, practice on the road, and then go in to get your test. You follow the rules and if you make a mistake you don't get your license and if you do it properly you get your license. You are either right or wrong, there is no in-between which is seen all the time in math.
I am going to become a pharmacist, where I will continue to use math extensively in my everyday life. I will continue to problem-solve and look for the right answer in my job. In my job I am given a patient with this patient they have a condition, and I have to search for the proper medication to benefit them. I have to take into consideration many different factors and I'll ultimately come down to one solution just like how I have with math. Therefore, math has taught me to always look for the best possible solution in every scenario in life.
Barbie Dream House Scholarship
My Barbie Dream House is located in Conroe Texas on Lake Conroe. I love this area, I have lived around this area for many years. This area is excellent for me because I am going to be a pharmacist, so being located in Conroe, it's around a 5-minute drive to the local hospital center and within 20 miles of the best hospitals in the United States, located in Houston.
My house will be a minimalistic modern style. I love the wood green and white style so I would try to maintain that style and design all around the house. However, today the average American has 300,000 items in their house. This also causes a bunch of people to go into debt because they spend all their money on these items rather than bills or other necessities. By staying minimalistic I can keep only the items I need to keep me out of debt, and a few personal items for my own enjoyment such as a cross stitch packet.
Cross stitch is one of my hobbies and would love to have a room in my house that is half a craft room and half an office. That way I can be creative, but also have a place where I can research and get work done.
I also have a passion for swimming I have been competitively swimming since I was 8 and I'm a 2-time record holder for my high school, so I would want the house on the lake, but also have a pool in the back yard for when winter comes so I can heat it and keep swimming.
One special thing I will have in my house is a two-story garage to store two cars and a motorcycle while allowing for a workshop area on the first floor.
Another fabulous feature my house will have is a movie room with a bunch of recliners. It will have blackout walls to keep the room dark, and it will have a hidden entrance, where you walk through a hidden bookshelf door to get into the theater area.
The last fabulous feature of my house is the entryway. I want a hall tree with a system where you place your shoes on a mat right when you walk in and it automatically cleans the shoes and puts them in their designated cubicle in the hall tree. This way the house stays clean with a no-shoe policy.
Reasons To Be - In Memory of Jimmy Watts
I have volunteered for various activities and these activities have truly shaped my core values and my ideals on what I want to do with the rest of my life. I truly love giving back to people, and out of all the locations I have volunteered at, I can not choose one that I like more over any of the others.
I have volunteered with kids and senior groups and love helping everyone. I am passionate about the medical field and have even researched many different procedures. I have shadowed a hospital and genuinely fallen in love with a hospital setting as I would get to help all types of patients. My volunteering has taught me that everyone has their own amazing stories that we can all learn from. Also, from these experiences, I have felt true delight and satisfaction from helping others which is one of the biggest reasons I have decided to go into the medical field.
I wish to go into the medical field as a pharmacist because I do not want to be limited to helping patients in one department, by compounding and providing medications, I get to help all the patients and make an impact on as many people as possible.
One of my core values that has been influenced based on my personal experience is that everyone has value and that everyone deserves to be treated and cared for with respect. Another core value that I have is that you will never know what others are going through and even if you are told you are not going to feel exactly what that person is feeling. My last core value is everyone should have integrity when they do what they are supposed to do even when others are not watching.
While I was volunteering with the Willis Senior Group, we were selling tickets for the meal and the bingo game that was happening. One lady every week waits until there is no one around and comes up to pay for the next person who comes through the door. She has truly influenced my core values as she did not just do the right thing, she thought of others and gave back when no one was watching.
I am going to study to be a pharmacist and I want to be as selfless and caring as the lady from the Willis Senior Group was. I want to care for others and help as many people as possible while sharing the lesson that kindness is key. I hope that I inspire people to go out of their way to help and be kind to others based on my actions and the way that I treat others.
Harry Potter and the Sorting Hat Scholarship
In J.K. Rowling's magical world of Harry Potter, the Sorting Hat plays a crucial role in determining which Hogwarts house each student belongs to. As I reflect upon my qualities and the experiences that have shaped me, it becomes evident that Hufflepuff is the house where I would find my true home. With a commitment to kindness, loyalty, and hard work, I am confident that my dedication to service and the values I hold dear make me a perfect fit for Hufflepuff.
Hufflepuff, renowned for its emphasis on kindness and compassion, resonates deeply with my own principles. My involvement with the Rivershire Rattlesnake summer league swim team exemplifies my commitment to supporting and nurturing others. By dedicating my time and effort to coaching two young girls, ages 6 and 8, I have witnessed firsthand the power of encouragement and guidance. The joy that fills my heart as I see them progress in their swimming skills and personal development affirms my natural inclination toward kindness.
Furthermore, volunteering has become an integral part of my life, providing me with numerous opportunities to extend a helping hand to those in need. In my role with my choir, I assist in organizing and managing middle school choir concerts. By ensuring that students are in the right place and fostering an atmosphere of respect during performances, I contribute to the smooth running of these events. This experience has taught me the value of dependability and the importance of supporting others in achieving their goals.
At the American Legion with the Willis Senior Group, I actively participate in their activities by assisting with food preparation and serving meals. Additionally, I lend a hand during their raffles, helping to carry and move items. Although these tasks may seem mundane to some, I find fulfillment in the behind-the-scenes work. It is here that I am able to exercise my meticulous attention to detail and my willingness to contribute to the success of the event. These acts of service allow me to demonstrate my dedication and selflessness while fostering a sense of community and support for those around me.
Being sorted into Hufflepuff is not merely an acknowledgment of my existing qualities but an inspiration to continuously embody the values associated with this house. Hufflepuffs values fairness, patience, and a strong work ethic. I strive to uphold these principles in my everyday life, treating others with respect and being patient and understanding in challenging situations. Whether it is through lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or simply brightening someone's day with a smile, small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect, spreading positivity and fostering a supportive community.
In conclusion, my commitment to kindness, dedication to service, and belief in the power of hard work aligns seamlessly with the qualities valued in Hufflepuff. Through my experiences coaching young swimmers, volunteering with my choir, and assisting the Willis Senior Group, I have come to understand the profound impact that acts of kindness can have on individuals and communities. As I embark on my journey at Hogwarts, I am excited to embrace the Hufflepuff way wholeheartedly, knowing that it is in this house where my compassion, loyalty, and dedication to service will find their most authentic expression.

I am a leader due to my ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and my commitment to serving as a role model. One of the platforms where I demonstrate my leadership is within a summer swim league that has swimmers of all ages, ranging from 6-year-olds to 18-year-olds. This year, I undertook the responsibility of inspiring, instructing, and growing alongside two young girls, aged 6 and 8. Witnessing their remarkable progress, not just in swimming but also in their personal development, fills me with pride.
These girls have acquired remarkable skills and made significant improvements in their swimming performance. However, what truly impresses me is their character. Both of them have fearlessly ventured out of their comfort zones to forge new friendships. I have worked closely with them, encouraging conversations with their newfound friends, providing support, and passionately cheering for them from the poolside. The kindness and empathy displayed by these two young individuals are unparalleled, and I am eagerly anticipating their future growth.
Additionally, my leadership is evident as an officer in my Varsity Mixed Choir, where I hold the position of Communications Secretary. In this role, I am responsible for organizing and effectively conveying ideas to the entire choir program. This year, one of my primary objectives is to lead our team in engaging with and giving back to the local community. Currently, I am in the process of establishing a partnership with a nearby nursing home, arranging for our choir to perform for the residents and subsequently spending time playing games like bingo or cards with them. This initiative aims to provide entertainment and companionship to the residents, particularly those who receive limited visitors.
Furthermore, I am an active participant in an organization called HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), which comprises students aspiring to pursue careers in the medical field. I am currently taking on the task of leading not only my choir but also the HOSA members in a joint visit to the nursing home. By collaborating with these two organizations, we can enhance their visibility and increase the likelihood of securing sponsors. As a gesture of community support, HOSA creates and distributes gift bags to nursing home residents.
I consider myself a leader owing to my experience in leading people and organizations. My work ethic, trustworthiness, and empathetic nature contribute to my effectiveness as a leader. Looking ahead, I intend to apply my leadership skills to lead a team of pharmacists in researching and developing new medications for incurable or complex conditions/diseases. My aspirations lie in the pursuit of treatments and groundbreaking medications for conditions like Cancer, COVID-19, and Cystic Fibrosis.
Overall, my leadership experiences, combined with my personal qualities, drive my desire to make a significant impact in the realm of medical advancements and patient care.
Strong Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
I am a leader because I know how to work well with anyone and strive to be a role model. I am part of a summer swim league, where there are all ages of swimmers, from 6 and under up to 18. This year, I made it my responsibility to inspire, teach and grow with two little girls. These girls are sisters who are 6 and 8 this year. They have grown so much. Not only as a swimmer but as a person, their character has shone through.
These girls have developed some amazing skills and have improved their times greatly. Their character is what I am most proud of. Both these little girls have stepped out of their comfort zone to make new friends. I worked with them to talk with their new friends, be supportive, and cheer their hearts out on the side of the pool. These two little girls are the kindest most caring people I have ever met and I am excited to see how much they can grow in the years to come.
I am also a leader because I am an officer member of my Varsity Mixed Choir. My position is Communications Secretary, so basically I need to be able to organize and communicate my ideas with the entire program. One of my biggest goals this year is to lead my team and work with them to give back to our local community. At the moment, I am trying to correlate with a local nursing home, for our choir to come in and sing for the residents, and then stay and play bingo or cards with the residents. That way these residents with get both some entertainment, but also some time with others, if they do not have a lot of visitors.
Lastly, I am part of an organization called HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). This is an organization of a bunch of students who want to later get a job in the medical field. At the moment, I am trying to lead not only my choir but also the HOSA member to travel to the nursing home together. By partnering these two organizations together, it will help get both names of the organizations noticed. Not only do the names of our organizations go out, but also the opportunity for finding a sponsor is greater. HOSA creates gift bags and brings them to nursing home residents as treats, as a way to give back to the community.
I am a leader because I have a lot of experience with leading other people and organizations. My skills of being hardworking, trustworthy, and empathetic toward others.
Aspiring Musician Scholarship
Throughout my life, music has had an undeniable and transformative impact on me. Its unique ability to take me on a journey beyond my physical surroundings, transcend time and space and bring out emotions that I never knew existed is truly remarkable. Furthermore, it has enabled me to form deep and meaningful bonds with individuals I may never meet in person, as it connects us on a level that few other things can. Whenever an artist creates a song that resonates with me, it feels as if they have delved into my soul and conveyed emotions and experiences that I couldn't express myself.
When I was 4 years old, I went to a family reunion, and there was a band on the stage for background music. I thought the head singer was the coolest person ever so I ran on stage and acted like I was singing just like him. The head singer then stopped the whole performance and let me sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in front of everyone. For me it was transformative, and it grew my love and passion for music. Since that day I have continued to sing from my 5th grade Honor Choir to my Senior level Varsity Mixed Choir.
My love for music has only grown since that moment, I even cowrote a song in my 5th-grade choir. It was not radio worthy but it was a stepping stone since then. I began learning piano and can play a handful of songs, and I have a guitar and a ukulele, that I plan to learn and continue growing my love for music.
I have found that when people have music in their life they are happy and they enjoy what they are doing. In my choir class, we are constantly having a blast whether we are just jamming out or making music. Last school year before our UIL performance my choir practiced this tough chord that was the high point in the song. In the room that we were singing in there was a wall of guitars and when we hit this note, the resonance was perfect and it made the guitars ring. It gave everyone goosebumps and was such a jaw-dropping experience. Due to this experience and all the other amazing experiences I have had, I believe that everyone needs music in their life, whether it is just listening to songs or making music.
Music is a universal language that brings people together irrespective of their cultural and social backgrounds, bridging gaps that language and societal barriers may create. It has taught me to listen more attentively, appreciate beauty in unexpected places, and find comfort and happiness in trying moments. All things considered, music has enhanced my life in myriad ways and continues to shape my perception of the world.

As technology continues to evolve, mathematics will undoubtedly play an even more critical role in the functioning of programs utilized by these occupations.
In conclusion, individuals must prioritize the study of mathematics. Not only does it aid in attaining academic accomplishments, but it also contributes substantially to personal growth and development. I am deeply passionate about delving further into this subject matter and eagerly anticipate witnessing how it will influence my future pursuits.
Disney Super Fan Scholarship
My favorite thing about Disney is the magic it entails. It's not just about the fun rides and attractions, but the feeling you get when you step foot into the park. It's like all your worries and stress melt away and you're transported to a place where anything is possible. Disney represents hope, joy, and imagination to me. And that's why it holds a special place in my heart.
In 6th grade, I was part of my middle school show choir. The Pueblo Show Choir took a trip to Disney Land, where we got to tour behind the scenes, perform on stage, and go on a bunch of rides. The tour was quite impressive, we went back into the dressing rooms and the dance rooms and got to see the Star Wars ride under construction. We learned so much about what goes into making Disney feel so magical, and the amount of passion that people put into making Disney such a magical experience is surreal.
It's not just about experiencing magic for yourself, but also creating it through performances that enchant audiences. The thrill of seeing the joy on people's faces when they experience something truly magical is what makes it so captivating. As a performer, it's incredibly rewarding to witness the wonder and amazement on people's faces when they experience something truly special. It's a feeling that never gets old, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to share my passion for Disney magic with others. Whether through character experiences, parades, or other entertainment, the art of Disney magic is all about creating moments of joy and wonder that captivate and delight audiences of all ages.
When our performance concluded, we got to go on as many rides as we want and since my 6th grade Show Choir trip, I have been to Disney multiple times to ride as many rides as I can. The rides at Disney make the experience feel magical! From the classic attractions like It's a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean to the newer ones like Avatar Flight of Passage and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, each ride transports you to a different world and immerses you in the story. The attention to detail in the theming and the use of technology to enhance the experience sets Disney apart. It's hard not to feel like a kid again when you're at Disney and on these rides! Making the magical feeling my favorite part of Disney because it brings so much enjoyment to me and many others.

To me, embodying selflessness is not just a mere act of kindness or a show of empathy towards others. It goes beyond that. It means being willing to go out of my way and put the needs of others before my own. It is about being self-sacrificial and making sacrifices for the sake of someone else's well-being without expecting anything in return.
Being selfless also means being attentive to the needs of those around me and being willing to lend a helping hand whenever possible. Selflessness is about being present and available for people who need me, whether that means being a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. It is about being kind, compassionate, and empathetic towards others, even if it means putting my own needs and desires on hold for a moment.
Ultimately, embodying selflessness is about making a positive impact on the lives of those around me. It is about being a force for good and doing my part to make the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time, even if it is just something little.
When I was younger I volunteered at a local animal shelter. There was this one puppy named Mario, and he was struggling to be adopted. He was brought to the animal shelter when he was 3 months old and had been there for 5 months. The shelter that Mario was in could only hold animals for 6 months before they would be sent to the pound. So, over the weekend I sat in the caged-in area at the shelter and held Mario while telling his story to the people that would come by. Ultimately, Mario was adopted after two weeks and got to go home with a happy family.
During Thanksgiving, my siblings and I got together a bunch of food, and decorated paper bags to donate to a food drive. We made sure that there was a good variety of foods and made many bags to help multiple people in need.
In 8th grade, I was student council president, and I wanted to use that title to make an impact on people in need. So, at school, I ran both a clothing drive and a food drive, that gathered around 1,000 cans of food and 400 pieces of clothing that I was able to donate to people in need.
I make it a priority to assist those in need whenever possible. Whether it's through listening, lending a hand, or simply being present, I believe that practicing selflessness is crucial in positively impacting those around us. While it can be difficult, I prioritize the needs of others over my desires. By embodying selflessness, we can create a more compassionate and caring world for everyone.
Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Fan Scholarship
One of the most captivating tracks from Taylor Swift's well-known album '1989' is the emotionally charged and infectious tune, "Out of the Woods." This particular song packs a powerful punch, as the lyrics are expertly crafted to tell an emotional story from start to finish. These expertly crafted lyrics mixed with the infectious tune are used to resonate with listeners on a personal and introspective level. In this song, Swift portrays the challenges of navigating a tumultuous relationship as utterly astonishing. Taylor Swift has showcased her ability to connect with her audience on a deep and emotional level, leaving an indelible impression on her listeners' hearts and souls.
The lyrics "The rest of the world was black and white but we were in screaming color" by Taylor Swift in "Out of the Woods" are truly captivating and leave an unforgettable impression on the listeners. These expertly crafted lyrics effectively convey the sensation of being lost in love while experiencing life like never before. This lyric sharply contrasts between the mundane outside world and the couple's intense emotions for one another creating a gripping urgency and passion that lingers with the listener long after the song has ended.
"Looking back, it's hard to believe how far we've come," sings Taylor Swift in her hit song "Out of the Woods." This is exactly what this Polaroid lyric captures; the nostalgia and growth that comes with looking back on a past relationship. The strong meaning behind this lyric resonates with listeners who have also experienced the ups and downs of a complicated romance. It's a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there will always be a way out of the woods, and emerge stronger on the other side.
In her song "Out of the Woods," Taylor Swift poetically captured the complex nature of relationships with her lyrics "We were built to fall apart and fall back together." Swift acknowledges that relationships are like a rollercoaster, they can experience their ups and downs, but if the bond is strong enough, it can repair and end up stronger. Her words serve as a powerful reminder that despite the messiness and imperfections that often come with love, it is always worth fighting for. Love may not always be effortless, but the reward of a strong and enduring connection is immeasurable.
"Out of the Woods" is my favorite song on Taylor Swift's '1989' album because of all the thought that went behind the lyrics that were included. Swift made sure that every lyric had meaning and supported the messages she was trying to get across, leaving an everlasting impact on all of her listeners.
Learner Math Lover Scholarship
Math has always come easy for me. In my second-grade class, I began multiplying 3-digit numbers in my head and it freaked out my teacher because she had to write down the problem to solve it. My teacher requested that I be removed from her class and put into a more difficult math class, which I was later put into.
For me, math is like solving a puzzle there will always be a right answer. To find the right answer, logical reasoning is used to figure out the answer. Once an answer has been found there is always a formula to check the answer to guarantee that it is right.
Math is not like the other subjects. It is not specific to one language or region like the other subjects. It is the same all over the world. Not only that it is one of the most used subjects as it is needed for so many different fields, like construction, healthcare, scientists, hairstylists, and anything with technology. Math is such a diverse subject and will always be needed by so many professions. Not only will math continually be needed even as we see technological advancements in these jobs, but it will be needed more to support the programs that these jobs will use to function properly. I love math because of how diverse it is, how it will always be needed, and how it can be used by everyone around the world.
Connie Konatsotis Scholarship
As a senior at Willis High School, I am always looking for new experiences and opportunities to grow as a person. I love participating in numerous extracurricular activities, anything from the Varsity Swim Team to Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) to the Varsity Choir. Not only do I participate in a bunch of extracurricular activities, but I also take many Dual Credit (DC) courses, my favorite one being DC Biology. In this class, our teacher had a do a bunch of labs which was fun. However, the most intriguing part to me was learning about how all the different animal's bodies function and how all of the animals correlate with the environment.
Science has always been one of my favorite classes, and this year I took Principles of Health Theory and Clinic and it was by far one of my favorite classes. We got to travel to a local hospital and shadow all sorts of medical professionals. I shadowed a bunch of different departments including the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Respiratory Therapy, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and many more. While some of the situations were upsetting or disturbing to see, I enjoyed helping others and working with patients.
I am planning on going to college to get my PharmD and ultimately becoming a pharmacist that works in the hospitals, because of how much I enjoyed and appreciated working in that environment. The reason why I chose pharmacy is because I don't want to be restricted to one unit. By working as a pharmacist I will be able to assist patients from all departments and give them medications to help them. This will cause an impact on more people than if I were to specialize in just Orthopedic or Pediatric care.
Also, by becoming a pharmacist, I am not only interested in the compounding of drugs but also in how different drugs react with different people. I would like to further my education and also research specific drugs to find medications to help with conditions that at this time have few or no cures. This way my education will not only benefit the people receiving medications that I compound but also possibly impact future generations by providing cures or treatments for difficult conditions.
I have also looked into working in a small town like my grandparents, where there are less than 10,000 residents. This is because as there is a pharmacist shortage, rural towns like that are struggling to have pharmacist work there. Meaning, that medications are not being given to people that need it. By working in rural areas, I can make a huge impact on the residents living there.

One special education teacher that has inspired my pursuit of higher learning is my Health Science and Theory Clinicals teacher, Ms. Ingram. She has taught my class many lessons, not only about healthcare but also valuable life skills that we can continue to use as we grow as people. Ms. Ingram has taught us compassion and care toward everyone. One of the biggest things I took from her class was actually from watching her every single day. She was always so kind and caring towards others. Ms. Ingram would go out of her way to make sure everyone felt comfortable with everything going on. While she probably does not know the impact that she has made on all of her students' lives, she has inspired me to not only focus on my studies in healthcare but also work on building my character to be as selfless and kind as my teacher.
Fear has always been a big part of my life. I have always feared others' judgment. Not being good enough for other people. Ms. Ingram has shown me that while you can not please everyone, being selfless and kind will get you far. People are impacted by others' actions and that will stick with them forever. She has taught me that I do not need to worry about my fear of judgment, but rather focus on making a good impression on people and maintaining that care and kindness towards others. There is no reason to fear what you can not control, so it is better to focus on what you can control and that is how you treat others. Due to my fear of judgment, I do not want to judge anyone else, especially when there could be things going on in their life, that I do not know.
I always try to look for the best in everyone and to strive for what I believe in. By continuing my studies in healthcare, I can help others in the future. Not only will I help others, but I will use the valuable lessons that I have learned from my Principles of Health and Theory Clinicals class and Ms. Ingram and not only incorporate them into my life but also teach these valuable lessons to others.
Another teacher who inspired me is my English 3 teacher Ms. Henderson. English has always been one of my more difficult subjects. However, this teacher made me love school, and want to continue advancing. Ms. Henderson created interactive lesson plans and attempt to get her students to stretch beyond their comfort zone. My favorite activity had to of been our Current Event Reports. With these reports, we found a news story from a reliable source, read through it and took notes so then we could share it the next day in class. The next day in class was set up like the television show TMZ. We all sat at our desks and would share one by one. We would have casual conversations about it. Some of the stories would seem so insignificant, but then Ms. Henderson would ask many questions that would make us all think way more about what the story was about. Ms. Henderson taught me the lesson that there is always more under the surface. She has taught me to always look deeper, and not settle for what something seems to be.
I am extremely excited to advance my education and excel in everyday life with my communication with others by using these lessons. Both teachers have greatly inspired me and I am very grateful they have shaped who I am.
