I have never known a life apart from the military. It has seeped its way into every aspect of my life, from my character to my morals. My father has been on active duty for 26 years and counting. I may not been in active service yet but I have seen and experienced military alongside him. My name is Ryan Siguenza, I am currently enrolled at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University studying Aeronautics. I'm also pursuing my flight career at EB Flight Training, finishing my Private Pilot License with plans to continue on the next ratings. Starting this Fall semester I will be joining the Air Force ROTC at Riddle. I hope to pursue a flight career in the United States Air Force. The military has affected my upbringing in many ways. My father is currently a Chief Warren Officer 4, starting his military career as an E-1 right out of high school I've seen him grow as a person and in his career. The beliefs instilled in him were taught to me as I was growing up. I want to always try to do the right thing and to always grow as an individual. It showed me how to manage hardships in my life without giving up my morals. As the children of military members, we were constantly moving or go extended periods without seeing my father due to him being deployed or stationed afar. It has allowed me to travel across the United States and even go overseas. I learned how to get along and work with all types of people while maintaining my own identity. The military has also inspired my decision, as I previously mentioned I am a student pilot and joining the Air Force. My love for aviation began when I was watching a Naval airshow with my father. I was amazed at all the aircraft, especially the Blue Angels. This inspired me to pursue a career in aviation and a lifelong love for planes. I hope to become a military pilot for the United States Air Force after graduation. In all being in a military family has shaped me into the person I have become. It has instilled a strong moral compass and a great admiration for our country. The military has allowed my family to succeed and grow. It also has allowed me to pursue my dream career. Through all, I am grateful for the military and especially thankful for all the veterans who have served.
