Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship
I am currently in sales and marketing to expand my network and build connections worldwide. I am a Marketing Intern at Sandhills Global and interact with around fifty people from all over North and South America daily. I have also had sales training while working for TractorHouse, a Sandhills Company, and have built solid connections for future sales with individuals all over America. It is inspiring to know that people respect and trust you enough to contact you back and place thousand-dollar equipment in your hands to produce results. This leads to my passion and motivation to help people sell their equipment and carry an excellent reputation for the company.
I am driven and passionate about creating long-lasting connections with people worldwide, and I currently have that opportunity at Sandhills Global. What also drives me is the commission benefits associated with sales. As a broke college student with barely any scholarship money, I have to work harder than others to pursue financial freedom from college. I am writing this essay for the Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship right after I got off work and finished a quiz for my marketing class. I have to take classes all year round as I switched my major from Athletic Training to Business Management to enable time to work while in school. As a product of that transition, year around school is mandatory for me if I want to graduate in four years.
You may question why I didn't just take another year of school and have my summer and winter off. I am motivated and driven to finish school in four years like I wanted and not have to bear the additional student loan debt for another year. I am passionate about working in marketing and sales as I love building connections, pushing myself every day to gain more sales and market our brand, and finally, building long-lasting relationships that will help me later in life. My motto is, "It's not what you know but who you know." Growing up in a small community made it great to know people and create strong connections with one another.
These excellent connections build trust in others. As I said, it is so rewarding to have people call me and express their joy of having their piece sold or winning the item they bid on and coming back to me for more results. I can't tell you how many times people have chosen me over other marketing and sales reps because I not only produced results but because they acquired a friend in which they could lean on. Sales are not always about making money but rather creating a long-lasting bond that makes customers return and become loyal to you and the company. If those reasons don't make you want to go to work, then you don't have the drive or determination like me to be in sales or marketing. With my drive and determination, I believe I would be an outstanding recipient of the Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship.
