I aspire to better our world, especially the lives of marginalized populations. To accomplish this, I am pursuing a Joint Master of Arts in International Policy and Development/Master of Arts in International Trade and Economic Diplomacy.
Trade can affect employment, investment, economic growth, and educational opportunities in either positive or negative ways. Economists have a responsibility to explain what is happening in the world in order to assist governmental and corporate agencies to reduce harm to the general population.
Over time, as advancements in technology allow greater percentages of the population to access information and spread knowledge on social media, trust in these entities has plummeted. Light has been shed on many corrupt policymakers who are financially swayed by big businesses instead of the best interests of the global community.
My passion for problem-solving, creativity, collaborative spirit, engagement in social activism and strong analytical skills make me a great future economist. I am enrolling at the Middlebury Institute of International Relations to equip myself even further with additional tools to succeed in curbing corruption and implementing policies that will benefit the people.
Post-graduation I will continue my career by working for the US government in one of the following entities: Departments of Commerce, State, and Agriculture; U.S. Trade and Development Agency, US Foreign Service (Economic Branch) or in the Public Corruption program in the FBI.
Thank you for your time reviewing my profile, and for supporting students!
