Bio

My life goals consist of perusing a career that will make me and the people in my community content with my assistance. I would like to contribute in keeping my the people around me safe and healthy. I currently have two career options, I would like to do something relating to the criminal justice field, or becoming an ultrasound technician. I have applied (I still have an interview) for a Certified Nursing Assistant Program during the summer because I have taken a recent liking to the nursing field. I am an active reader and enjoy it during my free time. I have noticed that my writing and understanding in English has improved since I took reading as a hobby. I am currently working on my social skills as I know both of my career interests would need it. I see myself as driven and diligent, I work hard to ensure the best for me and to make my family proud of me.

I never experienced the childhood everyone around me has. My friends always talk about little things they enjoyed throughout their childhood and I could never relate. I didn’t realize how different I grew up than my friends, I never went to restaurants, places that costed money, vacations, I didn’t get Christmas or birthday presents, and I had hand me down clothes from my cousin. While my friends liked to talk about how they got clothes from certain stores, went on yearly vacations, bragged about how many iPads they broke or the games they loved. Sometimes I get embarrassed to tell them I didn’t watch the same show as them or have the same game because they look at me in shock after and ask how? I usually shrug and say I don’t know I didn’t really want it when the reason was simply because my parents did not want nor were they able to spend that money for temporary entertainment purposes. I am a saver when it comes to my money. Since I was little when my dad would give me a dollar or so I would give it to my mom right after so she could put it in my pile. My mom has been saving my money for years and she still does, I never liked to spend the money because I want to use it towards big purchases. To me, it doesn’t feel right to spend it on small things that will end up being wasteful, I would like to use the money I have saved up towards college or to get my first car. After I graduate I plan to buy myself a graduation gift of a laptop to use for college since I won’t have one anymore. I have been taught to save by my parents, so I guess you can say that’s the principle of my financial education. Lately, I have seen videos of how the best option would be to invest my money. I do not think I am educated enough on investing to do it yet, but I do plan to invest my money in the near future when I learn more about it. I have also been taught about retirement, I learned that if I save 50-100 dollars every month, I can have up to or more than a million by the time I retire. I intent to do this when I get a job soon and increase the amount as I earn more. I am educated on retirement plans like 401k or Roth IRA and am definitely interested in Roth IRA as it is independent. I plan on using what I learn to better my future to put what I think will benefit me into action. As soon as I start working and earning money, I will make sure to either ask or do research on how to increase it. I want to gain knowledge of how to be smart with the money I earn. I have learned how to save from my parents since they raised me to not be wasteful of my money. My financial education my prime focus as I grow older, I realize that the key to major success is to be well educated in my finances.
