My best friend filled a whole in my heart that I've had since my sister died when I was five. Even though we haven't been close for very long she is my sister and I don't know what I'd do without her.
I have known Loveli (yes that is her birth name) since the second grade, to be honest I didn't really like her until junior year. We had art together which meant that we could talk for almost two hours straight at least three times a week. Of course sometimes we'd get annoyed with each other but no matter what we knew we loved each other. It was and is the type of friendship that we will bicker like an old married couple but still love each other to no end. She very quickly became apart of my family, my parents love her, and even our dogs love her too.
We share the type of bond that most people only wish they could have, it's like we share the same brain, but are somehow very different. Me and my sister were also like this until she passed away so in many ways I feel like Loveli has filled that part of me in a way I never thought possible. We aren't afraid to disagree with each other because we know no matter how much we don't like what the other has to say at the end of the day our friendship is above all else. I think that is such a big reason I value our friendship so much, because I know that no matter what she is going to tell me the truth, no matter how much I might not like it. Loveli knows everything about me because I know she will always be honest with me.
Over the last two months Loveli has actually moved in with me and my family due to some home issues with her family. Even though it was an adjustment to have a fourth person in the house, I love it nonetheless. Sometimes it feels like a sleepover every night, which can definitely be a little distracting but I wouldn't change it for the world. She is the only person that can make me laugh uncontrollably and we definitely look crazy in public but we couldn't care less because we have each other. We have the exact same humor which is really good became most people don't get our jokes.
Loveli is my platonic soulmate for sure and I don't know what my life would look like without her. I hope I never have to find out what a life without her would look like because she's the only person that I have ever clicked this way with. As strange as this might sound to some people, I am her's and she is mine, which we both say to other people.
