Growing up in Longview, Texas, I witnessed the immense talent and potential within our community. However, I also recognized the lack of resources and opportunities available for young athletes to develop their skills and compete at the same level as those in larger cities like Dallas. Inspired by my journey and the desire to give back to my community, I am driven to build an athletic facility in Longview that can rival those in big cities, providing kids with the facilities, education, and training they need to excel. The vision behind this project is to level the playing field and create a hub of athletic excellence right in the heart of Longview. The facility would offer state-of-the-art training equipment, well-maintained fields, and top-notch coaching staff to guide and mentor aspiring athletes. By providing access to these resources, we aim to close the gap between small-town talent and their urban counterparts. Beyond physical infrastructure, education would be a central component of the facility. We would establish partnerships with local schools and universities to offer academic support, tutoring, and scholarships to deserving athletes. Recognizing that success in sports must go hand-in-hand with academic achievement, we strive to foster a culture of excellence in all aspects of their lives. Furthermore, this facility would serve as a highlight point for community development and engagement. It would become a gathering place for families, a hub of sportsmanship, and a source of inspiration for aspiring athletes. We would organize community events, tournaments, and workshops to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and character-building. Having experienced the limitations and lack of opportunities firsthand, I am driven to ensure that future generations of athletes in Longview do not face the same barriers. I want to provide them with the chances and support I never had. By offering accessible and high-quality training, we can cultivate a new generation of athletes who can compete on a national stage. Additionally, this facility would foster a sense of pride and unity within our community. By investing in the potential of our youth, we empower them to dream big and realize their goals. We would create mentorship programs, inviting successful athletes to share their stories and provide guidance to the next generation. Through these initiatives, we aim to build a supportive network and instill a sense of belonging and purpose in our young athletes. Building an athletic facility in Longview that can compete with big cities like Dallas is my heartfelt mission. I want to break down the barriers that limit our young athletes and provide them with the facilities, education, and training they need to reach their full potential. This project is about more than just sports; it is about empowering our community, bridging the gap, and creating a brighter future for the youth of Longview. By giving them the chances I was never given, we can inspire greatness, build character, and foster a legacy of excellence that will shape generations to come.

Life has a funny way of presenting us with opportunities for change, and for me, that moment happened when I decided to transform my body and prepare myself for the challenges of college soccer. Shedding 20 pounds and reducing my body fat from 21% to 15% became the turning point for a complete life-changing action. The realization hit me like a brick. As I entered my final year of high school, I knew that college soccer would demand a level of athleticism and fitness beyond anything I had experienced before. Determined to take control of my future, I embarked on a journey of physical transformation. I dedicated myself to a disciplined routine of exercise and healthy eating. Three times a week, I engaged in intense conditioning workouts that pushed me to my limits. Simultaneously, I taught myself about nutrition and implemented a balanced diet. I swapped processed foods for whole, nutrient-dense options, prioritizing lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and healthy carbohydrates. With each passing week, I could feel my body responding positively to these changes. The road to transformation was not without its challenges. There were days when I wanted to quit, go back to eating junk food and enjoy the summer, threatening to derail my progress. However, I refused to let negativity hold me back. I sought motivation from anything I could find but importantly surrounded myself with individuals who shared my commitment to my fitness. Their unwavering support and encouragement fueled my determination to continue pushing forward. Months passed, and as I looked in the mirror, I could hardly believe the reflection staring back at me. I had not only shed those 20 pounds, but I had also built a body that exuded strength and athleticism. My journey had transformed me not only physically, but mentally as well. I had built a new self-belief and resilience that extended far beyond anything I was used to. The physical transformation I achieved was only the tip of the iceberg. I had developed discipline, perseverance, and a growth mindset that would prove to be worthy later now in life as I’m older. I had proven to myself that with dedication and hard work, any goal was attainable. As I prepared to embark on my college soccer journey, I was filled with a good sense of gratitude for the transformation I underwent. I know that the commitment and sacrifices I made did not only benefit me on the field but also shaped my character as I faced the challenges that came after. My decision to change my life by losing 20 pounds, reducing my body fat, and conditioning three times a week has been nothing short of life-altering. Through discipline, determination, and a relentless pursuit of my goals, I have transformed myself into a fitter, stronger version of who I once was. As I continue college soccer and am in my final year now, I carry with me the lessons learned from this journey, knowing that I can achieve greatness in all aspects of my life.

Soccer has been an integral part of my life, becoming my personality and has dictated my whole life. Ever since I saw what soccer can provide for me and what it can do for my family, it's been nothing but non-stop training and grinding to become the best I can be. Its impact has been significant in shaping my character, teaching me invaluable life lessons, and giving me friends who I can call brothers and sisters, but when success comes to defeat, the injuries I have had are now inspiring my desire to become an athletic trainer. As a child, soccer provided me with a sense of belonging and leadership and what it meant to be in a family with people who weren't blood-related. Whether it was playing with friends in the neighborhood or representing my school on the field, the sport brought people together, breaking boundaries and building lifelong friendships. Through victories and defeats, we learned the importance of teamwork, resilience, and dedication. Soccer taught me the power of unity and how working together toward a common goal can achieve remarkable results. Beyond the thrill of competition, soccer became a vessel for personal growth. It challenged me physically, mentally, and emotionally. The game demanded discipline, perseverance, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. It taught me to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, pushing me to improve and strive for greatness. Through soccer, I discovered my inner strength and developed a relentless work ethic that extended beyond the confines of the field. As I continued my soccer journey, I began to witness the toll the sport could take on the athletes. Injuries became an unfortunate reality, sidelining talented players and leaving them in need of professional care. Witnessing these setbacks firsthand ignited a new passion within me—to become an athletic trainer. I wanted to be the support system, the guiding hand that could help athletes recover, rehabilitate, and return to the sport they loved. My desire to pursue a career as an athletic trainer stems from my deep-rooted love for soccer and the impact it has had on my life. I want to give back to the game that has given me so much, by providing care and support to athletes, helping them overcome their injuries, and ensuring they can continue chasing their dreams on the field. Soccer has shaped me into the person I am today, instilling in me values that extend far beyond the boundaries of the pitch. Through soccer, I have experienced the power of teamwork, personal growth, and the importance of resilience. Now, fueled by my passion for the sport and the desire to make a difference, I am determined to become an athletic trainer, devoting myself to the well-being of athletes and being a part of their incredible journeys.
