Bio

In the face of my sister's chronic neurological disease, I discovered a deep calling to pursue medicine and bring solace to families like my own. During high school, I conducted a research study on Alzheimer's Disease (AD), exploring innovative treatments using Turritopsis dohrnii (immortal jellyfish) stem cells. I aimed to stimulate neurogenesis and memory formation for individuals at all stages of AD. At Texas A&M University, I immersed myself in biomedical engineering, driven by a passion to revolutionize healthcare through cutting-edge technology. I honed skills in data science, report writing, LabView, Python, and more. I developed a Python program that detects melanoma risk based on mole asymmetry, border irregularities, and color variations. I even developed a post-ureteroscopy device to reduce infection rates surrounding the procedure. Now, as I pursue my medical education at Texas A&M School of Medicine, I am resolute in my ability to make a transformative impact. As a student from a Moroccan immigrant background, I aim to become the first doctor in my family. After completing my medical education, I am committed to matching into a neurology residency program. I plan to serve patients in underrepresented areas at the beginning of my career. Later in my career, I hope to advance research in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. I hope you are proud of me, my sister. Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/racha-cherradi-ba0187205/
