Bio

I am a high school graduate, starting college in the Fall. I am excited about the opportunities before me. I have worked hard and maintained good grades throughout my academic career. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA. My long-term goals are to work in the entertainment industry in two capacities. First, I am a writer and have already written a script for a Television Pilot. Secondly, I want to work on the business side of the industry. I would like to evaluate and market ideas to global audiences, as well as manage the finances and marketing of companies in the entertainment industry. I have had my own business, “Q’s Odd Jobs,” since I was 12 years old. I have studied stocks and already have a Roth IRA that I contribute to regularly. I have traveled to four continents and studied Japanese for two years. I believe the experiences that I have had, plus my educational choices and my drive, make me a great fit for this industry. Once I have established myself in the industry, I would like to help open doors for others who desire to get into the industry. I believe I am a great candidate for this scholarship because I would use the proceeds to further my education to acquire a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree to better position me to accomplish my dreams. I would consider it an honor to receive your scholarship.

I am a senior in high school and I am excited about the opportunities before me. I have worked very hard and maintained good grades throughout my academic career. I currently have a 3.78 GPA. I love to read and I love to listen to and play music. I play the drums with the worship team at my school and my church. I still maintain my clients from this business even though I now also have a part-time job at Publix. I have studied stocks and already have a Roth IRA that I contribute to regularly. I have traveled to four continents and studied Japanese for two years. I had the opportunity to participate in a Study Abroad program with People to People. We visited 8 countries in Europe. We studied governments, met with diplomats, experienced the arts, learned how to make Belgium chocolate and Swiss cheese. We visited the Anne Frank House, as well as visited the Beaches of Normandy where our brave soldiers knowingly sacrificed their lives. Over a period of 9 years, I participated on two different swim teams. I won medals and numerous ribbons. At the banquet, at the end of the 2018 Jefferson Sea Dragon swim season, I received the “Coaches Award” for being a great example, an encouraging teammate, and for having exemplary character. At the banquet, Coach Tess made the statement, “If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet this young man, you need to!” I serve once a quarter, with my family. We prepare and serve food at a Men’s shelter and I also help with the iServe Ministry passing out food to those in need in our community. I believe the experiences that I have had, plus my educational choices and my drive, make me a great fit for the Entertainment Business industry. Once I have established myself in the industry, I would like to help open doors for others who desire to get into the industry. Giving someone else a hand up is at the heart of what I would like to do. At my fifth-grade graduation, I was given the award “Tomorrow’s Leader.” I would like to “lead” in the area of opening doors for others. I was inducted into the National Honor Society in May 2020 and will graduate with high honors from Bethlehem Christian Academy in May 2021. I believe I am a great candidate for this scholarship because I would use the proceeds to further my education to acquire a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree to better position myself to accomplish my dreams. I would consider it an honor to receive your scholarship.

I pet sit, do yard work, help move, wash cars, clean garages, clean basements, and many other odd jobs. While my mom and dad work hard to provide for our family, I felt a desire to earn my own money to help with the things that I wanted to do. I believe I am a great candidate for this scholarship because I would use the proceeds to further my education to acquire a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree to better position myself to accomplish my dreams. One of my favorite books on finance is Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. I also love the financial Peace program by Dave Ramsey. It teaches you some very important principles about money. My most important resource for finance is my parents. They supported me when I wanted to start my own business, Q's Odd Jobs, when I was 12 years old. They also help me open my Roth IRA when I turned 16 years old, they live a financially responsible life and share principles and priorities with me on a daily basis.
