I am a Filipino first-generation immigrant whose family moved to America when I was young to take advantage of new opportunities. I am pursuing a career in teaching and plan to work in California for K-12th grade and later on, community college. I have work experience in various jobs such as a 2020 census enumerator, respite caregiver, after-school STEM teacher, and a tutor. In my many years of experience in leadership, I was a choir section leader from my sophomore year of high school up until my freshman year of college. I also won multiple awards in my choirs: Outstanding Student, Outstanding Musician, and Outstanding Improvement. I also am part of the LGBTQ+ community and was on the board of a Safe Space Alliance for LGBTQ+ students while in high school. At Fullerton College, I am a DSS student for several severe mental disorders. I have gone through and persevered through many traumatic periods in my life, including but not limited to, several suicide attempts, an abusive relationship, and sexual assault. Despite that, in high school, I earned Magna Cum Laude and for Fullerton College, I am a Promise Scholar, on the President’s Honors List, and in Phi Theta Kappa.

Ten minutes is all I needed to write every word of this song during my morning work shift. I was traumatized by my last relationship and mourning over what could have been. He apologized the night before I wrote this and the words from him that hurt me most were "I'm sorry we didn't get our paradise." The words replayed in my head until I heard a melody during work and I couldn't resist finishing the song. I recounted the memories that stuck out to me most and chose my attempt at preserving my wilted prom flowers as a symbol of our love. All the effort and faith in broken promises poured out of me into a song of helplessness and a hint of bitterness.
