      Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
My favorite Spider-Man by far is Andrew Garfield. To keep it short and sweet, he is simply the most relatable. They do a great job of portraying his emotions and the relatability of his situation. His high school environment is the most realistic of the three, and he is just a great actor. Aside from his movies portraying him as very relatable, he is also just cool. Growing up I was a huge fan of any superhero movie. Whether it was Iron Man, Captain America, or Spider-Man, I would watch it. However, once I saw the first Amazing Spider-Man, I was hooked. The scenes where he would be on the highest skyscraper in New York City were just my favorite! I always wanted to be Spider-Man and that was simply because of Andrew Garfield. Other than him being great at being Spider-Man, Andrew also did a superb job of being Peter Parker. He was a brainiac kid who juggled many things at once. He was very loving and protective of his family, all while struggling with the loss of his parents. While Andrew Garfield did a great job of acting as Spider-Man, he was an even better Peter Parker. He was by far the most entertaining and loveable of the three and was truly my childhood. All of these reasons are my motivation for why I will argue with anyone who discredits Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. He is unerringly my favorite Spider-Man and he played a pivotal role in my childhood with the joy he brought me.

One of the most difficult challenges I have faced in my life was when my Grandma was diagnosed with cancer. It was a devastating blow to our family, and I struggled to cope with the fear, uncertainty, and emotional turmoil that came with such a diagnosis. Watching someone I love go through the physical and emotional pain of battling cancer was incredibly difficult, and I felt helpless and overwhelmed. During this time, I turned to my faith and my community for support and comfort. I leaned on my friends and family for strength, and I found solace in prayer and meditation. I also sought out a support group for caregivers of cancer patients, where I was able to connect with others who were going through similar experiences. Being able to share my feelings and fears with people who understood what I was going through helped me feel less alone and more resilient in the face of hardship. Despite the challenges my family faced, my grandmother's diagnosis also served as a wake-up call for me to prioritize what truly matters in life. I became more appreciative of the time I had with my loved ones and more determined to live each day with purpose and gratitude. I realized that life is fragile and precious, and that it is important to cherish every moment we have with those we care about. In embodying Agape love, I strive to give back to my community in meaningful ways. One of the ways I do this is by volunteering at a local soup kitchen, where I help serve meals to those in need. I have also organized fundraisers for cancer research and support organizations, to give back to the community that provided us with so much support during my mother's illness. I believe that embodying Agape love means showing compassion, empathy, and kindness to others, especially in times of hardship. It means being there for those who are struggling, offering a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, or a helping hand. It means being a source of light and love in a world that can often feel dark and overwhelming. Through my experiences with hardship and my commitment to giving back to my community, I have learned the power of Agape love in healing and transforming lives. It is through acts of kindness, generosity, and service that we can truly make a difference in the world and spread love and light to those in need.

After college, my goal is to use my engineering degree to make a positive impact on my community and the world. One way I plan to do this is by focusing on sustainable infrastructure development. As an engineer, I understand the importance of creating structures and systems that not only meet the needs of today but also consider the needs of future generations. By focusing on sustainable engineering practices, I hope to contribute to a greener and more sustainable world. Currently, I am involved in several community initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability. One of these initiatives is a community garden project that I helped start in my neighborhood. This project not only provides fresh, organic produce to local residents but also helps to reduce food waste and promote sustainable agricultural practices. I plan to continue working on this project after college, using my engineering skills to improve the irrigation system and incorporate renewable energy sources. Another way I plan to make a positive impact after college is through volunteering with organizations that focus on providing clean water and sanitation to communities in need. Access to clean water and sanitation is a basic human right, yet many communities around the world still lack these essential services. As an engineer, I have the skills and knowledge to help design and implement sustainable water and sanitation systems that can improve the lives of individuals in these communities. Moreover, I am also passionate about education and believe that access to quality education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. After college, I plan to volunteer with organizations that focus on providing STEM education to underprivileged youth. By sharing my knowledge and passion for engineering with young students, I hope to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators who will continue to make a positive impact on the world. In addition to volunteering and community initiatives, I also plan to incorporate sustainable practices into my career as an engineer. Whether I work in the public sector, private sector, or as a consultant, I will strive to prioritize sustainability in my engineering projects. This may involve incorporating green building practices, designing energy-efficient systems, or researching new technologies that can help reduce our impact on the environment. Overall, my goal after college is to use my engineering skills and passion for sustainability to make a positive impact on my community and the world. By focusing on sustainable infrastructure development, volunteering with organizations focused on clean water and education, and incorporating sustainable practices into my engineering career, I hope to contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for all.
      William A. Stuart Dream Scholarship
Ultimately, my education and career goals are to be successful enough to support my family and to give back to my community. Throughout my life, my parents have always emphasized how important it is to return the good you receive from your community. My main goal is to major in Computer Engineering and to work at a software company. I have always been fascinated with this region of study, and I think that I would truly thrive in this field. With my education, I aim to make a positive impact in my field of study and to contribute to the betterment of the society around me through my hard work and dedication. If I was to earn this prestigious scholarship, it would help me achieve my high academic goals by alleviating some of the financial burden that is inevitable from higher education. Although my family is fortunate, my parents believe in "earning your way". This means that they expect my siblings and me to pay for our education fully. With the major support of this scholarship, I will be able to focus deeply on my studies, engage in extracurricular activities, and take advantage of the numerous opportunities that will be presented around me. With the financial assistance of this scholarship, I would have more time to enlist in internships or co-ops. These would both help in the application of my education to my society and would overall contribute to the improvement of my character. This would ultimately help me build the necessary skills and experience to succeed in my chosen career path. While it is always nice to have financial relief, scholarships can benefit the recipient in many other ways. To begin, it can teach them the value of giving back and then paying it forward. The knowledge of someone in my community investing in my education and potential can inspire me to pay it forward in a multitude of ways. Whether it is volunteering, mentoring, or raising money for charity, I can make a true difference in my community. Overall, I have set very high goals for myself. I aim for the sky and once I get there, I am higher. Education is the pathway to success, and it is important to have help on the way. With this scholarship, I will be able to meet my goals of being successful enough to support my family and give back to my community. I am truly honored to be considered for this scholarship, and I hope that I will be able to thrive in the field of Computer Engineering.
      Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Mental health is important to me in order to survive. Life is all about survival. In today's society, mental health is a very important problem and is very widespread. Whether it is bipolar issues, anxiety, or depression, everyone struggles with some mental health issues. Ever since the occurrence of COVID-19, this issue has completely skyrocketed. When COVID was introduced, nobody took it too seriously and everyone moved on with their lives for the time being. This was until the mandate was created where everyone had to isolate themselves. This meant grandparents being alone for months on end, families only having each other in day-to-day life, and this was new to everyone. In my specific situation, I was lucky enough to have 5 family members to keep me sane throughout it. We saw each other daily, did things together and this helped all of us very much. As time went on and we continued to be isolated, it was very bad for my mental health specifically. I wasn't as social with my friends as I used to be and I became addicted to my technology. Once the mandate was lifted and we began to go back to school, it was a struggle. I lost a lot of the social skills that I had and because of this, I overthought a lot. I grew up in COVID and this meant that puberty was occurring. Puberty alone led to many new changes and my mental health with COVID was at an all-time low. I soon realized that I had to change this in order to save myself. I couldn't be sad anymore because who knows what it might have led to. I began planning out my days and keeping myself busy. Whether it was hanging out with my friends, playing basketball, or even going fishing, I made it my goal to keep my time occupied. This helped me extremely because it constantly gave me something to look forward to or think about. I no longer had to entertain myself in the small confines of my room. This is the sole thing that saved me from sufferring from bad mental health and I credit my life today to this. Without the little things that I do every day, I do not know where I would be at. Once again, life is all about survival. We must figure out the things neccessary to survive, and mine is staying busy.
