Hey there, I'm Oviya — a rising college freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign for computer engineering. I'm excited to work in two of my favorite fields: computer science and engineering. I look forward delving into artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics during my time here.
I'm a first-generation American woman with an unwavering passion for STEM. Over the past year, I've taken various courses like multivariable calculus, linear algebra, AP physics, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, I explored data structures (Java) and computer vision, complementing my studies in prototyping, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and engineering design. My enthusiasm for STEM is evident through my involvement in various STEM clubs, including the Genetics Society, Technology Student Association, and Botball Robotics.
When not focused on academics, I enjoy playing lacrosse and volleyball. As a former color guard captain, I had a rewarding experience preparing for marching band performances and rehearsals.
Beyond STEM and sports, I am passionate about the creative arts, particularly illustrating and digital art. My interests in art and coding have resulted in numerous side projects. For instance, I'm currently developing a video game and designing a website. Additionally, I enjoy exploring CAD software like Blender to create 3D models and animations.
I look forward to college, a new chapter in my life, while continuing my journey to explore the STEM field and grow as an individual.
