As someone who has nearly lost loved ones due to cancer and severe health complications, it solidified what I wanted to do. I desire to research various diseases and disorders, helping discover cures or more effective treatment methods. I'm most passionate about assisting others however I can, whether that entails listening, offering advice, or a comforting presence. I wish to contribute to the betterment of society and create a less pain-stricken world, not just for African Americans like me, but for everyone. After attaining my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, I will attend medical school and pursue a combined degree of an MD/PhD with a specialization in CP/AP (Clinical Pathology/Anatomical Pathology). I will strive to leave behind a world where the generations, upcoming and future, can flourish; because one of the greatest gifts in this life, is the gift of life itself.
