Quality of your work is different for every person, to me, quality of work is building something to last, something that I can be proud of, something that brings joy to others, and something that there will always be a need for. Going to college and getting my General Contractors licensing would enable me to bring my version of quality to my home and beyond. Growing up with a family whose living was built on construction I've come to understand that if you're going to build something it's important you do it right the first time or else you'll be doing it all over again before you know it. Keeping that in mind I know that in order to be successful in my field I will spend a good portion of my time building relationships with my supplies distributors and subcontractors and not being afraid to shop around until I find the people that give me the best material that I know will last against the elements and time. While it doesn't sound like the most important part of being a Contractor, reputation, word of mouth, and networking are major parts of the job and if I'm not leaving behind quality work that speaks for my business I know that I won't get very far. Being a General Contractor would put me in a position to help people build the homes they'd been working towards for years. As a contractor, there's almost unlimited creative license to customize the homes I'll be building for my clientele and build relationships with them to make it as smooth a process as possible. To me being a quality contractor wouldn't just be about the output, the quality of interaction between me and my clients would be the main priority. Having good relationships with clients would make it easier to enjoy the work that I'll be doing and will build an environment where my customers can approach me on exactly how they want their homes built. Quality of customer service will be an extremely important part of my future business. Quality means different things for everyone and to me as a future General Contractor quality is the longevity of the product I'll be leaving behind and the relationships I build with my clientele. If I can leave great impressions of my work wherever I go I have no doubts that I'll be successful as a Contractor and uphold my version of quality throughout my career.
