Mind, Body, & Soul Scholarship
College life is an exciting journey that presents numerous opportunities for growth, both academically and personally. However, the challenges and distractions that come with college life can make it difficult to maintain a healthy mind, body, and soul. As a student, I am aware of the importance of prioritizing my health and wellness amidst the demands of school.
The aspect of college that excites me the most is the opportunity to learn and grow in new ways. I am eager to learn from my professors, interact with my peers, and engage in new experiences that will challenge me and help me grow as a person. I am also excited about the opportunities to explore my interests, whether it be through clubs, sports, or community service.
However, the demands of college life can be overwhelming, and it is easy to get carried away with distractions like alcohol, parties, and other social events. To combat these challenges, I have made it a habit to prioritize my health and wellness. This starts with waking up at the same time every day. A consistent sleep schedule has helped me feel more energized and focused throughout the day. I also make sure to engage in physical activity regularly, whether it be through yoga, running, or weightlifting. Exercise has proven to be an excellent way to relieve stress and promote overall physical and mental well-being.
In addition to physical activity, I also make an effort to eat a healthy and balanced diet. I try to limit my consumption of junk food and instead focus on incorporating fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins into my meals. I have also found it helpful to plan my meals in advance, so I can ensure that I am getting the nutrients I need to fuel my body and support my mind.
Finally, I make sure to prioritize self-care and engage in activities that bring me joy and peace. Whether it be reading, writing, or spending time with friends and family, I make sure to set aside time for activities that recharge me both physically and mentally.
In conclusion, college is an exciting journey, and I am eager to take advantage of all that it has to offer. However, I also understand the importance of prioritizing my health and wellness amidst the demands of school. By making healthy habits a priority, I am able to maintain a healthy mind, body, and soul, and I am confident that I will continue to thrive both academically and personally.
Your Health Journey Scholarship
Health is a personal journey, and everyone's experience is unique. For me, my journey started with a realization of my unhealthy habits and the impact they were having on my mental and physical health. Growing up in Nigeria, I was surrounded by an environment where unhealthy foods were readily available, and it was hard to maintain a balanced diet. However, when I moved to America, my unhealthy eating habits spiraled out of control. I was consuming fast food regularly, and as a result, I gained a significant amount of weight.
I decided it was time to make a change, not just for the sake of losing weight, but for my overall health and well-being. I started tracking my calories with the help of an app called "MyFitnessPal," which allowed me to see how much of each nutrient I was consuming. This was a crucial step in my journey as it helped me become more mindful of what I was eating and how much of it. I then made an effort to balance my diet, incorporating all types of food in moderation. This was a gradual process, and I did not restrict myself from eating my favorite foods, but instead, I ensured that I was eating them in moderation.
Exercise and physical activity have also played a significant role in my health journey. I have always loved yoga, and I make it a point to practice it regularly. Apart from that, I also engage in other forms of physical activity such as walking, cycling, and weightlifting. Exercise not only helps me stay physically fit but also boosts my mental health, and I feel a sense of calm and relaxation after every session.
One of the most important lessons I have learned on this journey is that it is not about being perfect but about finding what works best for me and my body. I have made mistakes along the way, but I have also learned to forgive myself and move forward. This journey has taught me to listen to my body and to make choices that support my overall health and well-being.
In conclusion, my health journey has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, but I am proud of the progress I have made. I am now more conscious of my eating habits and have incorporated physical activity into my daily routine. I have learned to balance all types of food in moderation and to listen to my body, and I am confident that I will continue to make progress towards my health and wellness goals. I hope my story will inspire others to take charge of their health journey and make positive changes that will support their overall well-being.
Dema Dimbaya Humanitarianism and Disaster Relief Scholarship
Sure, I can expand the essay to 400 words:
I am inspired to work in community service and disaster relief because of my personal experiences growing up in a low-income immigrant household. I understand the struggles and challenges that come with living in poverty and the importance of having a support system. My passion for helping others began at a young age as I witnessed my grandparents' sacrifices to provide for our family and the community. They instilled in me the importance of giving back and making a positive impact on those around us.
I have been actively involved in community service throughout high school, volunteering at my local food bank and participating in disaster relief efforts. I have seen firsthand the gap in the distribution of food in America, where healthier options are often more expensive and inaccessible while junk food is easily accessible and affordable. This is why I have dedicated myself to educating young adults on financial literacy and the importance of budgeting, taxes, and credit. I believe that by providing them with the tools and resources they need, they can build a strong foundation for their financial future and break the cycle of poverty.
In addition to my current efforts, I plan to continue my education in the field of finance and economics, and use my knowledge to assist low-income communities. I also plan to volunteer with organizations that focus on disaster relief efforts, and work to create sustainable solutions for communities affected by natural disasters. I believe that by working together, we can create a more equitable and just society for all.
I am honored to apply for this scholarship, as it aligns with my passion for community service and disaster relief. I am committed to making a difference and to being a positive force in the world. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals and communities to take control of their financial futures and build a better life for themselves and their families. I am eager to continue to give back to my community and to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those around me.
In conclusion, my personal experiences growing up in a low-income immigrant household, combined with my passion for helping others, have inspired me to work in community service and disaster relief. I also plan to continue my education in the field of finance and economics, and use my knowledge to assist low-income communities and to create sustainable solutions for communities affected by natural disasters.

Growing with Gabby Scholarship
Over the past year, I have grown in my understanding of personal finances and the importance of financial literacy for young adults. This growth was inspired by my own struggles and experiences growing up in South Africa, Nigeria, and the United States.
Growing up, I faced many challenges, including the loss of my father to prostate cancer and the financial struggles that ensued. My mother and sister and I had to rely on my job at McDonald's to make ends meet. Additionally, I got into a relationship that defined me and I lost myself in it. As a result, I didn't have the opportunity to get a formal education and had to learn about finances the hard way.
But through these struggles, I discovered the importance of financial literacy and the impact it can have on young adults' lives. I realized that many students in the United States get into debt that they will not be able to come out of. I also realized that it is important for young adults to know about finances early on so they can make informed decisions and avoid falling into debt.
I also took it upon myself to educate myself on personal finance topics, I read books and listened to podcast, I also took free online courses and took courses in college to gain knowledge in personal finance and business. I have also been able to help my mother and sister with their finances and have been able to give them advice and guide them on how to make informed financial decisions.
As a result of this realization, I decided to dedicate my journey to helping other young adults in the United States learn about finances early on. I have changed my focus to financial literacy and have become an advocate for educating young adults on the importance of financial literacy.
Despite these changes, one thing that has remained the same is my determination to make a positive impact in the lives of young adults. I have always been driven by a desire to help others and this drive continues to motivate me to make a difference in the world.
Through my journey of self-discovery, I have learned that personal growth is a lifelong process. I have also learned that it is important to reflect on my background and experiences in order to understand my values and what is important to me. I am grateful for the lessons I have learned and the growth I have experienced over the past year and I am excited to continue to learn and grow in the future.
Future Leaders in Technology Scholarship - College Award
As an immigrant, I have always been determined to overcome obstacles and achieve my dreams. When I first arrived in the United States at the age of 17, I had no idea what the future held for me. I believed that my fate was to become a housewife and live a life of domesticity. However, my life took a dramatic turn when I discovered the Year Up program, which provides young adults with the skills and training they need to succeed in the tech industry.
Through the Year Up program, I discovered my passion for project management and realized that I had a natural talent for organizing and leading projects. As an intern in the information security analyst field, I was able to apply my skills in real-world scenarios and learn from experienced professionals. This experience was eye-opening for me, as I realized that project management was the perfect field for me. I was excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in this field, and I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in tech.
As I pursue my education and career in tech, I am particularly interested in studying artificial intelligence and machine learning. I am fascinated by the potential of these technologies to solve some of the world's most pressing problems. I hope to use my education and career to develop innovative solutions that can help to improve healthcare, education, and other critical areas.
One problem that I am particularly interested in solving is the lack of accessibility to quality healthcare for people living in low-income communities. I believe that AI and machine learning can be used to create more efficient and effective healthcare systems that can reach more people in need. By automating certain tasks, such as data analysis and prediction, AI can help healthcare providers to identify patterns and make better-informed decisions. This can lead to improved patient outcomes and lower costs, which is especially important for low-income communities where access to healthcare is often limited.
In conclusion, my experience in the Year Up program and my passion for project management and AI have led me to pursue a career in tech. I am eager to use my education and career to make a positive impact in the world and I believe that by solving problems related to healthcare, education, and other critical areas with the help of AI and machine learning, I will be able to achieve this goal. I am confident that with the support of this scholarship, I will be able to achieve my dreams and make a meaningful difference in the world.
Hasanovic American Dream Scholarship
Growing up, challenges and disruptions were what made me who I am today. I used to feel like everything I did was to let myself down because of the challenges I faced. I was going through a storm, but I was determined that I would not let anything make me drown because I now know I can achieve my immigrant "American dream".
Covid-19 changed my life in every dimension that I did not know life could actually turn. My mentality and philosophy of life were shaken and tested. A GLOBAL PANDEMIC 2 years after arriving in the USA from Nigeria. I was devastated, this was different from the regular struggle I faced in Africa. I came here for better education and financial security. I was on the path to achieving that, but March 2020 blind-sighted the entire world. I was shocked that this level of severity was still possible in the 21st century. I came to the USA for “milk and honey” not to face a Pandemic.
On the 10th of January 2019, I enrolled in a community college called Georgia Perimeter with a Major in Computer science. Although I hated coding courses and dreaded going to class, I was set to persevere because it was not the career I was after, it was the money. I had a part-time job at Burlington coat factory as a cashier while I was going to school Full-time. I thought everything was going to be just fine.
After the Pandemic, I was furloughed from Burlington, this was the start of an organized disaster in my life. I had to rethink my life deeply and about how I was a Computer Science major just to make money and to also to be an inspiration to my mother. My grand plan had fallen into a billion untraced pieces. I failed many classes to the extent I had to repeat classes. This was not in the plan; I was wasting money. I did not believe in depression until it happened to me. I did not care about anything anymore until a ray of sunshine peeked its head through the cold darkness.
I decided to try something unorthodox, I started my own little Amazon storefront. I was amazed at the success I was having through amazon. I never in a million years thought it would work out. The profits from amazon became a source of income for me. A couple of months after this I authored a book called Fundamental Truths. I was gaining momentum in my time of darkness. It utterly shocked me that people bought the book I wrote. I realized I was so into economics and entrepreneurship. This shift led me to make a huge decision to change my major to Economics/business administration. My love for business and finances manifested. I have never experienced happiness in the form it presents itself today.
