FinalistBio
Hi! My name is NyAshia Pressley and I am an 18 year old, low income, first generation student who has been raised by a single mother and my older sister. I was raised in South Carolina and the east coast my entire life, but I am furthering my education at the University of San Francisco and majoring in Computer Engineering. I am passionate about technology and STEM related fields. I have been passionate about STEM since I was young, taking STEM classes in Gifted and Talented programs to even being a part of my high schools first cohort of its STEM Magnet Program and graduating with STEM Honors. I am a great candidate for scholarships because I genuinely dedicate all of my time and effort to my passions and goals and would truly appreciate every ounce of help to get me there, as i am a first generation minority student as well. I am also a good candidate because while I can maintain academic goals, I am also work driven, as I have maintained a job all throughout high school (since I was 15) while even holding two jobs for over a year and working two jobs in the summer time.
