Bio

My goal is to obtain a bachelor's degree in Information Technology. In addition to focusing on my studies, I took martial arts classes and was able to complete a brown belt status. I also enjoy creating computer graphics and sharing them online. I have applied and been accepted to both Kennesaw State University, GA to start Fall 2022 or Clayton State University, GA for Fall 2022. My top pick is Kennesaw State University and I plan to find as much help and assistance as possible so that I can live on campus while I study to stay focused on classes so that I can complete the bachelor's in Information Technology. If I am selected for this scholarship, I will represent you by making my education and example to others my top priority. My future goal is to work in information technology or gaming design, and one day manage a technology corporation. I plan to gain my BS in Information Technology and become an IT leader in an organization where I can utilize my skills at understanding and passion for technology. I want the opportunity to learn and upgrade my knowledge about computers through testing, building installing, repairing, or maintaining the hardware and software associated with complex computer systems. This field of study has a variety of areas including, cloud administration to web development. Also, data analysts, network administrators, IT managers, computer systems analysts, cyber security experts, and information research scientists. If I am selected for this scholarship, I will represent you by making my education and example to others my top priority.

Scholarship Essay Noah Lawhorn Education and its value are something I witnessed from a very young age. At the age of 7 my parents divorced and my mother, during this time, had only a high school education and a certificate in Phlebotomy. After my parents divorced it was challenging for us to survive on a minimum wage with no help or family around us. From that very moment, my mother announced to my sister and me that she would have to go back to school and get a college education. This was so that she could provide us with the life she always wanted for us. I watched her work full time while taking care of my sister and me and going to night school and then online school. After 9 years of hard work and perseverance for a college education, she finally obtained a master’s degree in health care administration, and my mom is now working as a laboratory supervisor for a popular healthcare organization. Neither of my parents had the opportunity to go to college out of high school and both faced many struggles to obtain a proper professional education. My mom made it clear to me at a very young age that getting my education was the most important thing for me to build a career and secure my future. Both of my parents have been an example of hard work and dedication. Because of this, they set the tone for me, and I have been able to successfully maintain A’s and B’s thought all my education from Elementary school up until now as a senior at Dutchtown High School, GA. I currently have a 3.3-grade point average and work part-time after school and on weekends for around 20 hours at Kroger as a store clerk. Although it has been challenging working part-time and being a senior in High School. I have not let any obstacles get in the way of completing my education and following my dreams of going to college and getting my bachelor's degree in Information Technology. In addition to focusing on my studies, I took martial arts classes and was able to gain a brown belt status. I also played basketball for the city and in my spare time, I create computer graphics and share them online. I also have an 11-year-old sister who struggles a little in school and has had many medical issues over the past few years. My sister was diagnosed with an encephalocele on her skull and has many headaches and other symptoms due to this. In addition, she may have to have surgery to correct this. Because of this, I want to be a great example to her and hope that she goes to college if she sees that I can do it and that anything is possible. I require financial assistance because I realize how expensive it is to pay for books, housing, meals, and classes. I have applied and been accepted to Kennesaw State University, GA to start Fall 2022. I plan to find as much help and assistance as possible so that I can live on campus while I study to stay focused on classes so that I can complete the bachelor’s in information technology at either one of these university institutions. I plan to gain my BS in Information Technology and become an IT leader in an organization where I can utilize my skills at understanding and passion for technology. If I am selected for this scholarship, I will represent you by making my education and example to others.
