Bold Influence Scholarship
To be a highly influential figure means one must stand for peace, kindness, unity, and community. Having a social media platform gives a person the responsibility to be able to support the community by posting content that might change the viewer's outlook on life.
I, myself, have multiple social media platforms. I'm not saying I'm social media famous, but I am well known through my school and other local schools for having popular and funny TikToks and YouTube videos. In all the videos I create, my goal is to overall make them entertaining and enlightening, meaning my purpose is to make the viewer laugh, smile, and simply put them in a good mood.
If I were a highly influential figure that is more recognizable, I would stand for self-confidence and positivity. I would try to make the world a better place by trying to inspire others to be themselves and try something new that might spark joy and motivation in a certain activity.
Social Media influencers have the power to unite the community as a whole, and if I were a famous influencer, that power is something I would not take for granted. Standing up for the community is important because it makes people's lives more enjoyable and they will have a better outlook on life if they have peers around them that support them and inspire them to be the best versions of themselves they can be.
Making people laugh and smile on social media is the best feeling one can have. It brings me enlightenment when I see other people around me enjoying my content, and knowing that my videos made someone's day better makes me feel proud of myself. Standing for positivity in the community makes the world a better place overall.
Bold Be You Scholarship
Most people try to fit within society by trying to look, act, and hang out with the "popular" group. I find myself apart from the "popular" group in school. Unlike most people in my school, I tend to go off the tracks and be more outgoing, upbeat, free, and overall be the best version of myself that I can be compared to most people who sit behind the shadows by just trying to fit in.
I stay true to myself by living every day with positivity. I always find myself looking forward to the future instead of focusing on the past. When I wake up every morning, I think about how I'm going to schedule my day, what I'm going to eat, and how I'm going to interact with my peers. I can be true to myself if I just look on the bright side of things (be more positive) because, at the end of the day, I will feel more satisfied with how I lived throughout the day. If I focus on the negative aspects of my life, I won't be the person I am today and I would definitely not get through every day easily, but just being outgoing and free to enjoy life is what makes me enjoy my everyday life.
Posting around my social media accounts, talking and laughing with friends, and participating in class are all factors about how I stay true throughout my entire day, and I carry this skill with me throughout school, into sports practice, and into my place of work. You know what they say, "laughing is the best medicine", and I truly stand by this saying because just enjoying time around friends helps me stay true to myself and get me through the day.
Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
As the popular popstar, Nicki Minaj, once said, "Don't you every be lazy. Don't you ever complain about hard work. Work hard, it pays off" taught me more than one might think.
Over the past year and a half, the coronavirus pandemic has struck the world in ways which we never expected, and it came with some consequences that made us change and adapt to the "new normal." One way in which I have learned something that changed my perspective on something significant in my life was a result of this pandemic. Because of the pandemic, I had to stay at home and complete a year of school in a way that I've never done before, and it was struggling and exhausting to say the least. Having school virtual was un-motivational, energy draining, and I found it hard to focus. The one thing I learned is, there is no easy way out of doing work and you have to push through it to see the end results will have a positive impact on my life.
Even though virtual school was draining, I still had to attend class via zoom or google meet. I still had to pay attention in class and not sleep in bed all day. I still had to complete every assignment that my teachers gave me. All these factors led me to realize that even in tough conditions, I have to work hard because it does actually pay off.
I ended up completing my junior year of high school (all virtual) with a report card of almost all A's, making it my most successful year of high school. In the end, Nicki Minaj was right all along, there is no easy way out. You just have to work hard, it will pay off.
Bold Independence Scholarship
To be independent on a day to day basis is very important in order to help me succeed through my work and progress. Being independent is important because it means you have the ability to complete tasks and work on your own with little to no help. It shows that you are responsible for completing your work efficiently and accurately. Being independent also shows that you are able to set your own path throughout life and more likely to have leadership status.
Independence is very important to me because the career path I am choosing needs you to be able to be independent. I am looking forward to studying film/editing production in college, and I am even taking a 5 credit class at my local career center for film. If there's one thing that is most important in creating a movie it is pre-production, production, and post production. With each of these 3 productions comes with a big amount of responsibility in creating a movie, therefore, I must be independent in order to complete these three steps. For the first step, I have to be independent because preproduction involves creating the script (broad core) of the movie, then there's also the financial factor, which takes a lot of responsibility. Second, the production phase is where I must direct and record the movie, which I have to be independent in doing so. The the last phase, post-production, requires independence because it uses a lot more technical work than you may think so.
Being independent impacts me because it helps push me to accomplish my work and get through those 3 phases of movie production, and having independence is a really good tool to have when working in my field.
